I myself are guilty of stating that I prefer men of West Indian/African decent. I put it because it saves time having guys I wont find attractive messaging me. eg: White men.
I dont see anything wrong with wanting to avoid wasting mine/other peoples time. | |

Posted: 4/3/2009 11:43:26 AM | I am a black female and I prefer to date white guys - my ex husband is white! Its just a personal preference thing, however if I met a black guy who hit all the right buttons as it were, I certainly wouldnt write him purely because of the colour of his skin.
However the issue I do have is, I as a black female (and I would love to hear from other black females) is that I seem to attract a large number of black guys. Nothing wrong with that you may say, but there seems to be (in my personal opinion) a certain arrogance amongst the ones that I have come across.
They cannot seem to comprehend that I am not desperately lonely, my life will be fine without them in it and I do not need to be their princess etc etc
I main pet hate from males of any colour though - once you reach a certain age, you are too old to you street slang/text talk when you message me! I would prefer a grown up conversation in grown up English.
If I want anything else I will talk to my teenage sons! lol | |

Posted: 4/4/2009 1:35:26 AM | I only date black guys as that is my preference.I had several messages from white guys and lovely as they were to chat to and one was nice looking i just didnt fancy them.White guys don't make me tingle with anticipation whereas black guys do.That isnt to say that i find white guys ugly or anything lol!
I didnt have my preference on my profile to start with but after 2 months i did add it as not to waste white guys time as one or two got shirty when i declined the offer of meeting up.
The cutest guy on forum (NO not you ModelMale lol) is white but the sexiest is black | |

I was just wondering if the site is likely to be able to search for people with preferences.... EG THEIR Preferred partner - gender, age, ethnicity, location.... everything
Your results could find for example, if you are searching for a black man who SEEKS a white woman aged 20-50 living within 100km of their city.......... see what I mean?
That way, if YOU don't meet their criteria of preference, their name does not come up when you search. | |

Following on from the thread about self esteem and shallow men it got me wondering how people percieve those with preferences for skin colour on their profiles i.e 'Female seeking black males only' or vice versa.
Would those posters that agreed size is shallow also agree that colour is also or is it just simply preference or maybe you view it as being racist considering we arent allowed to discriminate against skin colour in all other areas of our lives ?
I like my men to have a bit of colour.. I am not a fan of pale looking men. | |

But apparently I'm not supposed to like more than one at a time sooo I'll retract that, I hate her really.

Oh I get it, it's only blacks who have a gang culture! Tut, tut, silly me, I somehow thought that white's did as well. Well, you learn a little something every day I guess. I'm off to write to the local Police to let them know that the white guys carrying knives and guns are only doing it for fun and should be allowed to carry them because they're not in a gang.

Firstly, I am completely astounded at this message! You're extremely ignorant.You surely must know that not all black people carry knifes and belong to a gang? You cannot hate a whole race just because of a small percentage of them may live in this 'gangster culture.'
Back to the topic, I don't think it's racist to have a preference. Shallow? Perhaps. But it depends how you look at it, if somebody said 'I will not date an individual due to their skin colour' then I believe that is racist. Everybody is obviously attracted to different people but I don't understand how you can rule out an entire race. What if you met somebody who you really connected with and an attraction grew but they were of a different race than you preferred?
I just can't understand how you can base somebodies attractiveness on their race? I might prefer men with dark hair but that wouldn't stop me from being attracted to a blonde guy.

Geminiguy - I am a black female and I am offended by your racist and narrow minded comments. Let me put you straight on some points!
Culture - I was adopted at birth by a white middle class family, have lived in the Home Counties all my life, did pony riding, ballet and all that stuff and I don't have a clue about what you probably perceive as being 'my culture'.
Police Documentaries - do you really believe everything you see on those shows????? I work for the police and believe me there is some very 'interesting' editing that goes on. If they showed the day to day reality of it all people would be asleep within the first five minutes.
Gangster Culture - I have never been nor do I ever wish to be associated with this gangster culture that you refer to. I am guessing you mean the black rappers etc. Mmm let me see 'Eminen' - very talented musican, rapper and probably part of that culture and also WHITE!
Open your eyes, stop believing all the stereotypes and you'll see there's a whole new world out there of interesting people that you are missing out on! | |

Though as i aged, er got older. I found there are some lovely sexy men of different races. Though i am still kinda biased against Turkish, African men due to scamming or stupidly long messages on certain sites.

I just recently joined up and after saying to a couple of caucasian males "No Thanks" I was looking to see if I had missed a field in the profile where I could specify my preference.
My white friends-both male and female have tried getting me to date white men. No way. At first people seem shocked and I have been called racist. They obviously have never experienced racism. It's simply a matter of personal preference. Ofcourse I am excluding a huge fraction of eligible men- but I only need one.
I find quite a few caucasian men sexy, good looking, sweet, lovely etc. But I still wouldn't choose to date one. Though I am unable to express the reasons in words, it just wouldn't feel right. However I don't think it's a issue, as I don't think that I'm missing anything and noone's really missing anything by not being with me either!
I understand people who want to keep to their own kind; I think that is natural. I don't understand people who actually dislike their own kind.
People make me laugh when they think that colour shouldn't matter just because it doesn't to them. Love everyone including those of different races ....and preferences. | |
