| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/20/2009 2:50:25 PM | ^i'm so glad they resonate in you...please feel free to add any lyrics, quotes, writing that inspires you on this subject....
bringing this 8 line over from the last line, first line, written this afternoon....
by leading it into an endless war there is fear it's forevermore but it's not what we were created for so sanctify this war no more....
it's time to call in a time of peace to raise our vision and escape the prison that's been locking us in so much fear....
it's time to stop the fighting here

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/21/2009 4:39:43 AM | to rise above the hate and blood means to be set on a journey that starts really early but if it's not been part of the parents' heart how can we impart it to our children?
yet somewhere in me believes deep within and just above of everyone we all have that flying dove trying to be heard above the noise of all the other birds
but when you fly in peace and stillness often you are barely seen like a white whisp floating by or just hovering out of the corner of your eye or there in your dreams if your waking life has not been filled with so many screams and horror
at this hour millions suffering beyond imagination in hoods across the world living lives of real nightmares where peace flags just can't unfirl and if they did they'd be needed to wrap the bodies of the freezing and already dead
it has been said it is going to take much more than peaceful intentions and tremendous love to change the suffering and end the cruelty from which we act towards the planet and all on it
to really change the course of humanity's destiny and let the humane in the word humanity really come to be for until we all take responsibility we will never be free of these atrocities

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/21/2009 5:17:38 AM | 'relish the now for it's gone so fast' slipping quickly like the rest to the past what will it take for us to last? that is the eternal question
some say it's natural not to worry about our survival we've all been here before and returned for more that there is truth to reincarnation
even our beloved planet has been through a few cycles of living and dieing and living again perhaps the real resurrection
but right here right now honestly can't really see how if we keep up these abuses and all our excuses our world will keep turning and not start burning
the holes in our air are really a scare and rain forests? they're hardly there we keep chopping and cropping without a care and money is all that makes the world go round
one day we'll find it's just us and dead ground with no oxygen to keep us alive and then we''ll remember why the trees were so many we really needed them to survive
but it will be too late as it already is I fear the day draws near for we have sealed our fate from an unconscious and ignorant state

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/21/2009 6:12:53 AM | bringing this here, edited a little this morning, but written nearly three months ago during a time I was on a 10 post/day restriction and so this is not the original poem, which sadly disappeared when I went to post it....so in trying to re-write it, my frustration had set in and I had lost my peacefulness and clarity of focus, so it got much longer and more demanding in its tone...nevertheless, it speaks of things I think might be valid for this thread .....inspired by rosie's last line at that time, 'how did it get so wrong?'
Humanity's Call
'how did it get so wrong?' some say the world is always in a state of perfect balance... as unbelievable as that may sound especially when we know of the atrocities happening all the time, and all around, on, above and below ground.....
balance, I hear many say, but what about Zimbabwe where millions are dying or living lives less than ants at the hands of one evil dictator and he's just one of many real life tyrants
yes, balance, I dare say, and this poem is not coming out at all like the first time, for now in this moment there is a different energy writing each line...
one that is aggravated through my rhymes with the way people are treated, even the writers here who lose words all the time at the hands of our own moderators.... perhaps just another micro universe occurring veiling our bliss....
nevertheless, to return to my prayer on balance and how I hear it's a much bigger picture than what we see happening here.....
if we look with a view as if far off in space we can see that this place, this planet, looks like paradise with colours and light that truly for all senses delight and we shine ever so brightly throughout the galaxy
then you come a little closer and see that it looks like we are all living and working and being in harmony and the question of balance seems unnecessary when there is unity then you come a little closer and then a little closer and suddenly you see your vision is an illusion and it's nothing like unity or harmony visible for that side is completely invisible
and in its place is disharmony and lack of responsibility with the appearance of having fallen from grace with so much separation and hibernation division and delineation with boundaries and walls and no one to catch all those who fall while up in magestic towers are the powers that appear to be acting like gods but have no compassion or awareness of our unity in our minds, hearts, souls and bods so we ask, all the time, how can this be? for do we not say this is the land of liberty and don't we see ourselves living free and often doing exactly what we wish to be? so, to return to first line again.... how did it get so wrong? some say it is not a question of 'right' and 'wrong' for even those words come from a mind set of illusion...
for in the confusion of wishing to make sense of existence we created these views that fill the news and recreate the illusion over and over and over again others say, as I keep trying to write, that always in life, there is balance and so for everyone who's dying right now of cholera or living their life so poor with no one to rescue them others are just being born with health and wealth and many loved ones protecting them life is always in balance... that for every death, there is a birth and for every curse, there is blessing for every sadness, there is happiness for every hate, there is an equal love
so for every hell, there is heaven and every well, there is a ladder, for every good deed, there'll be one that's bad'er for every lie there is truth for every classy person, there'll be someone who's uncouth and for all the elderly, there is equally the energy of the youth
because there is always balance being achieved throughout our lives and humanity so going even further out in our view to imagine and maybe even see this law of balance occurs universally
now in my original poem I wrote also of another phenomenon that is, to me, an extension of balance and that is the subject of unity
when we remember the essence of humanity is that connection that can not be divided, that behind door number four and at our core is a unifying energy that travels the web and gathers all of humanity as one one so when we hurt another we are really hurting our own father, mother, sister, brother, son and daughter, grandmother, grandfather, grandson, grand daughter that all, like the child within, resides in thee it is an unbelievable and incredibly miraculous view, to me, to imagine truly those suffering in Zimbabwe....is me and those who died in the holocaust....is me and that car in front of me weaving dangerously...is me and those sitting in their towers subjecting so many to their illusion of their powers....is me
real unity means there is no division at all that the three muskateers cliche' was a spiritual truth, actually... 'all for one and one for all' is humanity's call
for we are eternally and ultimately tied to each other so deeply there is no separation for we are one, intertwined like dna forever spun

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/23/2009 9:16:15 AM | Fragile lyrics
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one Drying in the colour of the evening sun Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away But something in our minds will always stay Perhaps this final act was meant To clinch a lifetime's argument That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could For all those born beneath an angry star Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall Like tears from a star like tears from a star On and on the rain will say How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall Like tears from a star like tears from a star On and on the rain will say How fragile we are how fragile we are How fragile we are how fragile we are

Goodnight Willy Lee
Looking down in my fathers dead face for the last time, My mother said without smiles, without tears, without regrets but with servility, Goodnight Willy Lee I'll see you in the morning.
It was then that I knew that the healing of all our wounds is forgiveness which permits a promise of our return at the end.

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/24/2009 11:47:14 AM | thank you for posting the song on forgiveness, paulandit... it reminds me how deeply forgiveness can help and heal.... here is another song on that subject with much wisdom and truth, I think.....
Leona Lewis ...."Forgiveness"
Ummmmmm, ummmmmmm
[Verse 1] 'I don't wanna spend another day, Pointing fingers while I'm placing blame, I'm no angel, imperfect myself, cos baby I am only human, And I don't wanna put it all on you, I admit I did some painful things its true, And I'm sorry for them, no making amends, For always thinking I was innocent
[Chorus] Starting today, I'm gonna change, Don't wanna make the same mistakes, Cos I can see a new horizon, The ice around my heart is melting, And the hurt I feel is slowly dying, Now I'm, no longer crying, The bridge we burnt is being built again, It's leading to a new begining, And it may never be the way it was, And that's because I'm talking about forgiveness, Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness,
[Verse 2] I wish we could take back the things we said, Cos what we saids not always what we meant, We lost our heads, in the moment, And the words we used them like a weapon, But no one wins if we both walk away, And we hid behind the people we became, We're warmer than that, we're better than that, And I still cherish all the things we had,
[Chorus] Starting today, I'm gonna change, Don't wanna make the same mistakes, Cos I can see a new horizon, The ice around my heart is melting, And the hurt I feel is slowly dying, Now I'm, no longer crying, The bridge we burnt is being built again, It's leading to a new begining, And it may never be the way it was, And that's because I'm talking about forgiveness, Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness
[Bridge] If everybody could forgive and forget (just forget), Think of all the time that we could spend, being friends, Think about all the lives we could change, And all the love we could make, Baby how the world would be a better place, In the ennnndddd, ohhhhh,
[Chorus] Starting today, all that we will change, And I'll make the same mistakes, you know that, I can see a new horizon, The ice around my heart is melting, And the hurt I feel is slowly dying, And I'm no longer, The bridge we burnt is being built again, It's leading to a new begining, And it may never be the way it was, And that's because I'm talking about forgiveness, Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness,
Forgiveness [x6]
[Talking (forgiveness in background)] If everybody could just forgive, The world would be a much better place, [singing] ohhhhh Forgiveness [talking]'

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/24/2009 9:03:02 PM | another song that should be here.....
"Get Together " by Lizz Wright
Fear's the way we die You can make the mountain dream Or make the angels cry Know the dove is on the wing And you need not know why
Come on people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try and love one another right now
Mmm ...
Some will come and some will go We will surely pass When the one who left us here Returns for us at last We are but a moment´s light Fading in the grass
Come on people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try and love one another right now
Mmm ... right now Mmm ...
If you hear the song I sing You must understand You hold the key to love and fear All in your trembling hand Just one key unlocks them both And it´s there at your command
Come on people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try and love one another right now
Come on people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try and love one another right now Yeah, yeah, right now Mmm ... Oooo, yeah Mmm ...

|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/25/2009 7:25:05 AM | ^^thank you... there was a second part to that post i didn't add here...so here it is....
I know it starts with me in my own life and family in my own ability to act lovingly even in the face of uncertainty or when i feel angry in myself for acting selfishly or without empathy when my compassion loses out to my passion real or often in my imagination.... I know it starts with me to face my own inhumanity with utter honesty and only then will I be able to change and refrain from my own inhumanity with sincerity

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/25/2009 4:43:36 PM | Hi WeAre1 The words(of 2/28/2009) is the encapsulation of 'divinity' within the human spirit (in my opinion )and differentiates us from any other living species on earth.Leaders have a greater responsibility!
There is one such leader of note from Tibet who refuses to approve EVEN ONE act of violence to achieve any rights for his country BECAUSE IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE AND INTENTION OF THE WORDS YOU HAVE PENNED!
May your words promote and encourage more peacemakers!
|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/27/2009 3:22:11 PM | thank you, p....I hope more peace is encouraged also....I know many feel that now... going back in time, here is one peacemaker, singer, songwriter, who's music I have always loved, but this song I only just found again and read the lyrics to see it definitely belonged here in this thread of 'peaceful prayer'.....
Jackson Browne...."It is One"
'They shot a man into the sky The moon and stars became his bed He saw the sun rise seven times And when he came back down he said
It is one, it is one One world spinning 'round the sun Wherever it is you call home Whatever country you come from It is one, it is one, it is one, it is one
They shot a man if Africa At a time of rivalry and war He had some dreams of a good life But dreams aren't what they killed him for
Now people stand themselves next to the righteous And they believe the things they say are true They speak in terms of what divides us To justify the violence they do
But it is one, it is one One world spinning 'round the sun Wherever it is you call home Whatever country you come from It is one, it is one, it is one, it is one One -- the deep blue ocean One -- the endless sky One -- the purple mountains One -- you and I
It's not a world of our own choosing We don't decide where we are born This life is a battleground between right and wrong One way or other we are torn
And people stand themselves next to the righteous And they believe the things they say are true And speak in terms of what divides us To justify the violence they do
But it is one, it is one One world spinning 'round the sun Wherever it is you call home Whatever country you come from It is one, it is one, it is one, it is one It is one, it is one, it is one, it is one One -- the deep blue ocean One -- the endless sky One -- the purple mountains One -- you and I'

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/29/2009 6:18:39 AM | Beautiful Love
Come
The crimson dawn is calling and crawling
Let us yawn in fresh breaths at her
Gentle enumerous violin strums
Of rays undaunting in flaunting
Pink and yellow hues
Let us hush beside a wild dawn
And ride what ages eons have gained
From sun shine such as this...
Come love
For tomorrow will also come
Come love
Let us open palmed accept the
Loving dawn
How many more mornings shall we have?
How many more moons shall glow?
Come love
I just want you to know now..
I really do love you
And want to share this dawn
With you...
'Come love...' | |

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/29/2009 6:30:38 PM | Good thread We...
Yes, calling for peace! Yet, as long as the wanting of others shiny things and partials of Earth and empowered names
as long as the people are kept in the dark by others ambitions and threatening barks
as long as the desire of egos puffed up will never relent till they are on top
and the way to acquire what is easily won through intimidation by hands with big guns
there will not be a way till those held in disdain have been totally banished then, perhaps we can try peace again
Think its possible? We may need a great intervention.
|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/29/2009 8:06:14 PM | interwoven in the fabric of everything is 'the seed of its apparent opposite'.... or yin and yang.....
perhaps, just perhaps within every gun is the spark of the potential for peace..... it sounds absurd, and yet, perhaps it is the yang of peaceful yin..... i am just wondering about this, knowing from some vantage point, everything is always in balance, even if from our view that seems impossible......
anyway, thank you so much angelic balancing for your beautiful poem of love - inviting it now, for sure, because truly we may not be here next year.....
and secretless secret (now you've exposed so much of your beauty and truth and very sharp wit and wonderful use of words!).....so not so much a secret any more, dear woman :) ......thank you for your poem and awareness of all the challenges that prevent peace so often from being......
it is a very deep subject and today for me was both an extremely peaceful and loving day for the second half, as well as a day of much challenge and peace not being achieved in the first half.....so both operating, believe it or not, of equal force in my day today.
ideally, I should like to see a lot more peace and a lot less war in each person and family and community and state and country and world.
if only we could put as much energy into loving - unconditionally loving - as we do into conditionally loving - in other words, withdrawing our love - blocking our natural loving energy as much as we do.....
there is much I am calling for when I say 'peace'....I am calling for peace from the tiniest disrespect to that on the grandest scale of unity throughout the world.....
so, yes, bestkeptsecret - it really is taking a giant intervention!!
|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/30/2009 11:19:51 AM | Peace is within It comes from establishing within ones own mind the precept that they will not emotionally succumb to the interference of others that have not choosen, or been allowed to, embrace the harmony that is afforded by establishing a mindset that dismisses the thoughts that disrupt the flow of peace ( hatred, bitterness, contempt etc. etc.) Having been allowed to entertain thoughts of good and evil...which is the fall....it is now our obligation to choose to be peaceful Verbal interference from others is merely a manifestation of the thought process ( the flow of good and evil that is within the greater consciousness of us all ) within their own mind and speaking in words and tones that are indicative of their state of mind is merely an attempt to rid themselves of the disruption that is occuring within their thought process No one wants to be emotionally bombarded with thoughts that create unease within themselves Disruptive individuals act in such a fashion to try and create a disruption within the mind of those that they are communicating with in an attempt to rid themselves of that which it is that is troubling to them Consciousness IS awareness of what is and is not acceptable A judgement of sorts Sorting out of what goes where We have been programmed to feel compassion and empathy for the the emotional state of those around us In doing so we can either act in the same fashion as what is being presented to us by disruptive others or we can choose to respond in a fashion that does not engage in discord Each individual is responsible for the portion of the thoughts that come into their mind Each individual has the capacity to merely dismiss that which is unbecoming to maintaining a peaceful mindset Disruption seeks peace and calm because it is the opposite of peace The greater portion of individuals that allow disruption to be a part of their thought process/mindset the greater disruption that peaceful individuals have to run interference against Do not let the flow of anothers emotional upheaval become your own upheaval Peace is a blessing and gratitude is the required response | |
|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/30/2009 1:39:58 PM | Peace is a blessing and gratitude is the required response domut...a great conclusion!
Thank you WeR1....you are such a gracious soul...
We who want peace are many but those who selfishly want, do not out-number the 'we' but they hold a power that haunts That ill disruption is disguised behind a dark cloak of good peace just doesn't seem to last ...not ever like it should and the 'we' who trust goodness may unknowingly take bad bait; born behind deceitful eyes until once again it's too late Evil blends nicely with deception told in well constructed lies somehow it seems to linger under the personal agenda guise but in the lasting hope of 'we' our desired joy is sized so the search will never fade away peace will forever be the prize
~Someday~ | |
|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/30/2009 4:22:04 PM | "...Do not let the flow of anothers emotional upheaval become your own upheaval..."
yes, domut, i so agree....we always have the choice, if we are conscious enough to choose and not maybe automatically respond as we might have once upon a time (and still do sometimes).... and bks...thank you for your thoughtfilled poem.... seeking peace....like seeking love... being aware of those that might truly be wolves in sheeps' clothing.... is it possible that peace always is existing, just as love all ways is existing, yet there are many veils distorting its perfect beauty and state of naturally being? so it is always in existence alongside its apparent lack of it.....just like love.... is it possible it is not opposites at all - but all levels or degrees of peace, or love? i will try tomorrow or later to return to writing poetically....sorry I have slipped into plain 'discussion' now..... sometimes it is what happens when trying to see something from different directions.....

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/31/2009 4:53:31 AM | ^thank you for your beautiful poem sharing a beautiful vision....
wishing to post here now the lyrics of two songs, both called, "I Believe", both that touch my heart and soul deeply....
Joe Satriani Flying in a Blue Dream (1989) I Believe
'I've been out walking for hours. I've got something on my mind. How did we get here? Where are we going? And why is life so hard?
I read the stories, see the photographs. World's in a crazy space. I've got to hold on to my dreams; There's just no other place. There's just no other place.
CHORUS: I believe We can change anything. I believe We can rise above this. I believe There's a reason for everything. I believe In my dream.
I've seen the shadows of the living. Seen them turn and walk away. And I keep searching for the right words To send these thoughts away.
There's a picture I like to look at, A picture of a beautiful face. And I see something in her eyes, Sends me to a better place. Sends me to a better place.
CHORUS
I believe We can change anything. I believe In my dream.'

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/31/2009 5:04:12 AM | "I Believe" by Diamond Rio
Every now and then Soft as breath upon my skin I feel you come back again And it's like you haven't been
Gone a moment from my side Like the tears were never cried Like the hands of time Are holding you... and me
And with all my heart I'm sure We're closer than we ever were I don't have to hear or see, I've got all the proof I need
There are more than angels watching... over me I believe... Oh, I believe
That when you die your life goes on It doesn't end here when you're gone Every soul is filled with light It never ends ..and if I'm right Our love can even reach.. across.. eternity..! I believe... Ooh, I believe
Forever, you're a part of me Forever, in the heart of me I will hold you even longer, if I can...!
Oh, the people who don't see the most See that I believe in ghosts
If that makes me crazy, Then I am... 'cause I believe! Oh, I believe...!
There are more than angels watching.. over me! I believe Oh, I believe...
Every now and then Soft as breath upon my skin I feel you come back again... ......and I believe
