| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/31/2009 5:08:36 AM | if planets had eyes it would be a great surprise to look at them through space and see them looking back at us.....
and if they had a face would their look be of disgrace for all we continue to do to this planet and each other in this place?
if planets had hearts would they send love of the greatest magnitude down to our bit of earth and ground and really raise our attitude we spread around?
if planets had souls would they remind us of our goals to live as one in this incredible exploration and remember there is so much blessing to uphold?
we've been granted our greatest wish to live as one upon this earth's solar dish to rise like the tide when the moon's in the sky to be anything and everything we could wish....
and yet we've chosen to close our hearts to close our minds of all that's divine to use and abuse and be told 'it's fine' but when will we see when we kill each other, we kill a bit of eternity?

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 3/31/2009 6:06:40 AM | Wisdom from A Course In Miracles...
“The way is not difficult, it is very different”
“Love holds no grievances” “It is as sure that those who hold grievances will redefine God in their own image, as it is certain that God created them like Himself, and defined them as part of Him. It is as sure that those who hold grievances will suffer guilt, as it is certain that those who forgive will find peace. It is as sure that those who hold grievances will forget who they are, as it is certain that those who forgive will remember.
“What could you want that forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset? All this forgiveness offers you and more”

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/1/2009 12:02:55 PM | I hope this is OK to post this here it certainly is a call for peace, a paradigm shift, and a beautiful world...
The Obama Administration has asked the "Evolutionary Leaders" to communicate about what is transpiring on the planet, and how we can change the course of the unprecedented events that are challenging this planet. This is a window of opportunity that must be taken! A deadline was given for this information to be conveyed to the Obama Administration.
The Evolutionary Leaders, including Deepak Chopra, Gregg Braden, Michael Beckwith and many, many others (see Founding Signatories below) gathered together to write up the information to present to the Obama Administration. They are also asking us to sign a petition to show the Administration how many people are in favor of these changes occuring. They hope to collect 100,000 signatures. We need your help to reach that number and beyond! Below is the information presented to the New Administration.
The petition link can be found here:

By the Evolutionary Leaders
The human family is in the midst of the most significant transformation of consciousness since its emergence in Africa over one hundred thousand years ago. Consciousness has been evolving for billions of years from the first cell to us. We are becoming aware that through our own consciousness the universe can know itself. This awareness reveals incredible new potential for our individual and collective humanity.
Simultaneously, we are the first species on this Earth aware that we can destroy ourselves by our own action. This may be the greatest wake-up call to the evolution of consciousness since the origin of Homo Sapiens. We now realize that we are affecting our own evolution by everything we do. This knowledge awakens in us the aspiration to become more conscious through subjective practices including meditation, reflection, prayer, intuition, creativity, and conscious choice making that accelerate our evolution in the direction of unity consciousness and inspire us to deeply align our collective vision.
THE CHALLENGE
At this juncture in human history, urgent global crises challenge us to learn to live sustainably, in harmony and gratitude with one another and with the living universe. The changes required of humanity are broad, deep, and far reaching. Only by acting swiftly and creatively can we birth a planetary culture that will bring well-being to every form of life in the Earth community. The good news is that a compelling new story of our potential as a whole human species is emerging--a story of collaboration, citizen action, dialogue and new understandings propelled by unprecedented levels of democratic freedom, multicultural exchange, and access to communication technologies. It is nothing less than the story of our collective evolution.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTION
We recognize that the inner and outer aspects of life evolve together. A dramatic awakening in consciousness will involve an equally dramatic shift in outward aspects of our lives. In particular, we see the following as vital opportunities for our conscious evolution, both personally and collectively:
Cultivating a Paradigm of Aliveness: We regard the universe as deeply alive and conscious by nature. In a living universe, our sense of subtle connection and participation with life around us is the basis for a compassionate and cooperative approach to living. Educating for an Evolving Consciousness: Awakening consciousness is the foundation for all the change we seek to see in the world. We can work to elevate our capacity for conscious reflection and creative action in our personal lives as well as our collective lives as communities. We must support research and educational strategies that optimize human capacities and explore the nature of consciousness.
Restoring Ecological Balance: The balance of planetary ecosystems is fundamental to our survival. We must reverse the pollution of our global commons-the water, air and soil that nourish all life. We must encourage the proliferation of clean, renewable energy sources and expend all necessary resources toward mitigating the effects of climate change.
Encouraging Conscious Media: We must find innovative ways to use the new electronic media as the mirror of our positive evolutionary story, investing in their capacity to reach across differences of generation, culture, religion, wealth and gender to build a working consensus about our collective future.
Engaging in Social and Political Transformation: More sustainable ways of living will require the support of a more conscious democracy and vibrant civil society from which more enlightened leaders will emerge. All individuals should be encouraged to use their gifts to create participatory, responsible and compassionate models of governance. Working for Integrity in Commerce: Conscious businesses that are aware of the scope, depth, and long-range impacts of their actions are key to achieving sustainability. Business must become an ethical steward of the Earth's ecology and consciously establish an economic basis for a future of equitably shared abundance. Promoting Health and Healing: The science of mind-body-spirit health has demonstrated the profound connection between the health of a whole person and the health of the system in which he or she lives. Whole systems healing, respecting both traditional knowledge and modern sciences, must be supported in physical, social, and spiritual domains.
Building Global Community: The new story is about all of us who share this planet. Together, we can create a culture of peace that eliminates the need for armed conflict, respecting and appreciating the glorious diversity of our human family.
YOUR PARTICIPATION IS VITAL
Our group has done its best to articulate possibilities for the evolution of consciousness at this crucial moment in time. Please reflect on this document, feel what resonates in your being and calls forth a response on your part. We invite you to discuss it with others, continuing this global conversation by adding to it the wisdom that is uniquely your own.. Together, let us co-create a new narrative of conscious evolution that is a call to individual and collective action, birthing the most significant transformation of consciousness in history. Join in the Call to Conscious Evolution by signing the pledge now.

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/4/2009 10:43:34 AM | thank you, but please know we all have all sides.....there are times peace does not flow also...like with everybody.... it's almost like learning to say no and not give any energy to anything that is negative, internally or externally...... much easier said than done and one of the biggest challenges of my journey.....another reason for this thread...
I was driving back from a job just now and had Paul Simon playing from his cd, 'You're the One'.....quite a mixture of his music released in 2000..... and the very last song caught me and I kept putting it on, for I kept getting distracted ..... but the words spoke to me finally and I realized I wished to post them here.....
"Quiet".....words and music by Paul Simon
I am heading for a time of quiet When my restlessness is past And I can lie down on my blanket And release my fists at last
I am heading for a time of solitude Of peace without illusions When the perfect circle Marries all beginnings and conclusions
And when they say That you're not good enough Well the answer is You're not But who are they Or what is it That eats at what you've got With the hunger of ambition For the change inside the purse They are handcuffs on the soul, my friends Handcuffs on the soul And worse
I am heading for a place of quiet Where the sage and sweetgrass grow By a lake of sacred water From the mountain's melted snow

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/9/2009 11:13:27 AM | And they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder Yet blindness knows not of the merit of seeing without sight Veiled and contorted imagery instilled in the mind by dutiful patrons who wistfully surrender to what was previously passed on to them Sad really that we continue to engage ourselves in like manner simply because that is what we have seen Horses with blinders on both sides of their eyes, placed there by their tenders, plow straight and even furrows Steady and true Straight and percise Unrestricted by other stimuli Objectives are the means to an end and peace can be accomplished in a universal and expansive manner if we simply mimic the pattern set forth by the horse and its tender Unencumber by the stimulus of hostility and contention Furrowing our own pattern of harmony Given enough contenders who refuse to alter their course The seeds of peace will sprout | |

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/9/2009 6:13:53 PM | ^^Thank you for sharing your wisdom here and writing is so beautifully and truthfully. I can see, as you say, if we all stay focused completely on the goal of not moving in any way other than on the path of peace, then it will naturally unfold.... Perhaps it is a matter of taking the blinders off... of realizing where the patterns and in some ways, 'traditions', have kept war in our minds and hearts without questioning why? Or what? Or who we are to fight so strongly for beliefs that might not be in the interests of everybody, but for perhaps just a few people selfishly.... There are so many levels of ways we enslave our selves, of ways we fight our selves, and as we treat our selves, we treat each other.... I pray this day, not in the future, but right now, we start to see truly the unity of humanity all sisters and brothers with no more fighting each other

|
| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/10/2009 8:51:09 AM | Thank you for shedding a different perspective in regards to "blinders" The horses are allowed to see directly in front of them which allows them to furrow without stubbling on what may perhaps be unlevel ground The blinders are an effect tool that is utilized to allow the horses to keep focus The human blinders that we wear are a disregard for the suffering of others Blinders put in place that allow us to survive in our own reality It is merely a matter of determining the method and manner in which we use our own blinders
Peace and love to you | |

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/10/2009 6:13:07 PM | There's a pure white dove, Sent from God Above, A purposeful bird, With sweet song to be heard.
Be kind, not cruel, Share donkey and mule, To help others on life's way, Do a good deed each day.
Empathise with the troubled, Prevent woes from being doubled. Hear the cry of the meek, Listen when others speak.
Be honest and true, Words straight and few. Give generously where there is need, Have no part in greed.
Leave envy be, Appreciate every tree. Respect and care for one another, Like loving sister and brother.
Race, colour, religion, creed - no matter, Material dreams can come to grief and shatter. There's a beautiful dream that can become reality, Calling for, and having peace reign, Across every land and sea.

[Request for Forgiveness]
Avidya was upon me. So Artemis addressed me as, Faux. I had fallen in love with Creativity: I neglected Artemis.
Had Athena forsook me? I Stood in blankness; unaware of The undercurrent of disgust. I Had affronted Artemis.
I noticed her hands shiver. Artemis had the shakes. What Had occurred? Who had afflicted Artemis? She tries so hard.
I was blind. I could not see. Artemis sensed Avidya upon me. Before she read aloud, she looked Upon me: I saw sincerity’s agony.
Artemis, how do I redeem a fated Moment? It has become particles. How do I locate the lost fragments? Artemis, I failed; forgive my cruelty!

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/11/2009 4:35:28 AM | domut - i understand better now how blinders help the horses stay focused.... perhaps we are not so different after all.....for often it is our own distractions that lead us away from our heart's and soul's goals....that break our focus too... may peace and love be with you in all you do
tranquilrose - so good to hear from you! thank you for leaving your poem of wisdom and sensitivity.... "...There's a beautiful dream that can become reality..."...yes, I feel this also, starting with each of us.... to the white dove in you, may she fly beautifully and peacefully
naiveandwitty - "....I saw sincerity's agony..."...yes, dear man.... yet, as with all of us, please do not let your happiness or unhappiness be determined by others.... nor your peacefulness.....as I wish for all across the planet and beyond, if energy really does travel infinitely.... I pray we learn to transcend and truly heal the lack of peace that is so prevalent and seems so real. By the way, I hardly see in any of your poetry what I would call naivety...moreso, to me you speak with wisdom and clarity and a wonderful body of knowledge shared very creatively....thank you for leaving your presence here

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/12/2009 5:38:20 AM | I woke one night Within a dream And touched The solid ether. All seemed real As the other Awake place… Is one more real, Or neither? Just who “creates” That world in dreams, And who is it that “makes” the other. The fabric of both Time and space Is illusion not thy mother? Navigating here it’s important To understand You hold the rudder, For you’ll steer for Love And you’ll have Peace Only when You give them To each other Call it Karma, or the Golden rule, Let forgiveness be your chart, It matters not what others do, If you’re lost before you start If we want peace, and Love and joy, To have it we must give it. If we want Love with in our lives Then surely we must Live it.
To all that post here, I believe you are touching more people than just those who read these posts. The true spirit extends, and expands, like ripples from a rock thrown on a calm pond. I believe you are Reaching the world, you have touched mine, and I thank you.

"....If we want peace, and Love and joy, To have it we must give it. If we want Love with in our lives Then surely we must Live it."
I so agree, my friend.... feeling your words of wisdom give direction and speak truthfully if we want to live lovingly and peacefully ....
your thoughts also lead me to these....
'...if we want peace, and love and joy' then we must be peace, and love and joy.

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/17/2009 4:09:02 AM | Tao Te Ching.....#68....Compassion
"Compassion is the finest weapon and best defence. If you would establish harmony, Compassion must surround you like a fortress.
Therefore,A good soldier does not inspire fear; A good fighter does not display aggression; A good conqueror does not engage in battle; A good leader does not exercise authority.
This is the value of unimportance; This is how to win the cooperation of others; This to how to build the same harmony that is in nature. "

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/17/2009 6:13:25 AM | Some are convinced there is nothing worth fighting or dying for
Some are in a position to send others to fight and die Some are dying in self-defense on foreign soil out of ignorance Some are defending their homeland from invaders from all quarters
Some who send the others have a score to settle Some who send the others are wagering to win
In the battlefield there isn't time to change your mind.
Are we more innocent than they? All who fight are doomed to lose
Their hope is that we who live in peace will save them.
How many of the soldiers have people who care enough, in their relative safety, to use their words and their bodies to call for peace again and again in the land where there is freedom to speak and peaceably assemble.
My own son has joined our military and I am proud of him for wanting to serve. He couldn't help it that he was mislead. He couldn't help it that he was a trusting soul. So many of our soldiers are that way. Tender souls who only want to be able to support a family. They want spouses and babies and the only way they see to accomplish that is to do the honorable thing and sign away--in my son's case, eight years of his life to his government, every day to be willing to lay down his life for his country. I don't mean to stereotype or speak on their behalf, that has just been my experience with these beautiful souls over the past year.
Young people who will be his enemy are just as tender and bruised.
Forgive me for stating the obvious and preaching to the choir. This is my norning meditation.
I look forward to reading more in this thread.
Ps. My son would kill me for going on like this.

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/17/2009 6:31:06 PM | A poem I really enjoy
A VISITOR FROM THE PAST by Thelen Paulk
I had a dream the other night, I didn't understand. A figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by the bed, He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low, he said:
"We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny, For future generations, this legacy we gave, In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave."
"The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly, while your parents were asleep. Your freedom gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave, In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave."
"You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun, Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent, Although you have no voice in choosing how the money's spent."
"Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. Your Christian values can't be taught, according to the state. You read about the current news, in a regulated press. You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the I.R.S."
"Your money is no longer made of silver or of gold. You trade your wealth for paper, so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God in shame, You've taken Satan's number, as you've traded in your name."
"You've given government control to those who do you harm, So they can padlock churches, and steal the family farm, And keep the country deep in debt, put men of God in jail, Harass your fellow countrymen, while corrupted courts prevail."
"Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oath they've sworn. Your daughters visit doctors so their children won't be born. Your leaders ship artillery and guns to foreign shores, And send your sons to slaughter, fighting other people's wars."
"Can you regain freedom for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? Are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave?"
"Sons of the Republic, arise and take a stand! Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land! Preserve our great republic and each God-given right, And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright!"
As I awoke he vanished, in the mist from which he came. His words were true, we are not free. We have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right, We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight.
If he stood by your bedside, in a dream while you're asleep, And wondered what remains of our rights he fought to keep, What would be your answer, if he called out from the grave? Is this still the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave?
(As long as there are disputes there is freedom, world peace is not possible. Utopia is like a fisherman's hook it is baited with perfection but barbed and dangerous to your life.)

| ~ Calling for Peace ~ Posted: 4/18/2009 5:26:54 PM | "The Man He Killed" by Thomas Hardy
"Had he and I but met By some old ancient inn, We should have sat us down to wet Right many a nipperkin!
"But ranged as infantry, And staring face to face, I shot at him and he at me, And killed him in his place.
"I shot him dead because – Because he was my foe, Just so – my foe of course he was; That's clear enough; although
"He thought he'd 'list perhaps, Off-hand like – just as I – Was out of work – had sold his traps – No other reason why.
"Yes; quaint and curious war is! You shoot a fellow down You'd treat if met where any bar is, Or help to half-a-crown."

'Here in the dark the dusty light is fading The lonely night of waiting Is passing the point and missing the mark Be the light or love will fade away Be the light or love will fade away Here in the shade the leaves of change are falling down Slowly trying to reach the ground To touch the earth and turn around Be the light or love will fade away Be the light or love will fade away Out of the darkness Suddenly my body can take a breath I'm coming out of the darkness Finally my soul can take a rest Here in th elight a lazy mist is lifting And the sands of time are slowly shifting Into the glass with the hours that pass Be the light or love will fade away Be the light or love will fade away Out of the darkness Suddenly my body can take a breath I'm coming out of the darkness Finally my soul can take a rest'

| My Peace At The Tavern Song Posted: 4/19/2009 12:21:48 AM | Waiting on the drifts of the extensive universe I am one of many minds that exists in tumultuous times
OOOooo - Naa naa naa naa!
No matter how much ignorance society can claim The tribulation - is still going to come
OOOooo - Naa naa naa naa!
The people's vanity has had avarice on Our Earth And now the Sun has something to-be-done
OOOooo - Naa naa naa naa!
Being viable and self-sufficient [good change will come] Sadly, change is an ego that materialize's thought
OOOooo - Naa naa naa naa!
Oh, my purpose is my light, and quixotic mind Loving thy God and He will show me grace
OOOooo - Naa naa naa naa!
**began as poem- I wrote earlier in my journal, and revised some new rendering now; I must say... couplets are splendid to convey...!
P.S.
I actually wrote this without falling into it; well, on second reading, I might have become so elated I fell naked in a sweep; O' Thank you for the page to share.

| ~ Calling For Peace ~ Posted: 4/19/2009 5:35:32 AM | Peace and infinity, Time and war One or the other It’s either or… Know the truth Will set you free Timeless spirit Eternity. Living with serenity, Change the world internally. Projecting the Peace You want to see. Forgive the rest For what they do Until our leaders follow you. Live for Peace Lead the way With all you think, You do or say, Till every person on the earth Sees in Peace just what it’s worth, Learns the values of living it And understands the laws and joys of giving it. It’s time to end the egos rule For Time is endless harsh and cruel, Infinity beckons, with its call For Peace for one, For Peace for All It calls for You to make a choice, To waken with a gentle voice Our sisters and our brothers, Who lives with ego, lives with fear Under stars and sun, With out ego Spirit’s here Then Truly We are one | |
