Posted: 4/3/2009 6:48:11 AM | I don't know if anyone has noticed, but women can look pretty good in a t-shirt and jeans as well.
I walked into a pizza joint recently and saw a black-haired, green-eyed girl wearing torn jeans and a vintage CBGB/Talking Heads May 31, 1977 black T-shirt. She looked like a million dollars, except she probably wasn't even a gleam in her daddy's eye at that time. Nevertheless, she had the art-punk/Patti Smith look down cold, and it took me a couple of minutes to realize that I wasn't in a time warp and I needed to order.
I asked her where she got the shirt.
"It's my mom's"
"You gotta introduce me to your mom."
"My dad might not like that."

I love the way Levis fit a man with a good body.Much better than Wranglers or other brands.
Of course,you kind of HAVE to have the khaki Dockers in the closet for the dressier occasions.But,of course,Levi makes them.
Just a plain white tee shirt, Levis and barefeet,Or of course work boots.....
I prefer a white tee shirt and jeans myself,as a matter of fact....... | |

I find that in a guy to be a total turn off and i have my entire life. I have NEVER liked a guy that is ALL ABOUT THE SURFACE. Those guys have no depth, can't carry on a normal life or normal conversation. All they want is a woman who is either naturally skinny or is all into working out too. It is a shallow life for shallow people. Men who want those women but don't work out, are just the exact same kind of man, but lazy, very lazy. I have never met any exceptions to this. BUT, they have that privilege to be this way and that is fine for them, NOT for me. I am a very deep thinker and as all of us, need a person that is similar so that we have things in common. I put more significance on the living of life than on the maintaining of perfection and image. Image is image and 2 demensional. I choose depth.
Clothing, any clothing is much better. I prefer something besides t-shirts on a man my age, but I wouldn't exclude him for the choice of them. Clothes don't make the man, the man makes the clothes.

I have a friend was was a commercial pilot flying cargo in and out of Chicago. He told me this joke that fits. "How do you know who at a dinner party is the pilot? Don't worry, they'll be sure and tell you." It's very often a similar situation with people who are in great shape. They very often tell with how they dress and if you haven't gotten the hint that way, much of their conversation revolves around diet and exercise. I will say however that not all are like that. Some percentage understand that they don't need to preach to everyone.
While jeans and a t-shirt are a good look on most everyone. What I wish would disappear is the khakis and polo shirt for business casual. I'm so tired of the ubiquitous Dockers with pleats and cuffs and the cheap polo shirt. Ugh. Slacks and a nice button down is no less comfortable and looks a thousand times nicer. IMO anyway. :) | |

That is not always true.. I was married to an athlete that had a body to die for.. There was not a day that I remember him not working out. He took a whole lot of pride in his body but his soul was even better.
Where I live there are many men in fabulous shape that are wonderful people and well married. They also hit the gym like clockwork every morning. You can't paint everyone with the same brush.

Well thanks for pointing out all my faults and deficiencies. I do work out, have been for years and wear jeans and Hanes T shirts and am well over 50. Now I know why I cannot attract any women! Who would of thunk it. And now (don't think a sentence is supposed to be started with a conjunction) as the poster says I don't know how to carry on a normal conversation. Man, I really need a workover both inside and out. | |

What would you do with a man (mid 50's) who keeps himself fit because it's good for his health, he likes it, he wants to keep his weight under control, the doctor is pleased with his health, he's not arrogent, has a degree from college, keeps up on world affairs and is a good conversationalist? | |

jbogie don't know what you are doing, but ummm tee shirt and jeans seem to fit ya fine or you look fine in them.
I do agree that the man makes the clothes.

I prefer slacks and button shirts. Roll up the sleeves on that shirt and grrrrr. And oh, a man in a suit! Or tux! Or tails!! Handsome, elegant - crisp and neat.
Jeans are ok with button shirts and jackets. Otherwise, they're chore wear. | |

A man in a suit or tux doesn't do anything for me................they look way too formal!!! LOL
Black t.shirts are very old style nowadays................don't see that much anymore.
