Posted: 3/25/2009 7:19:00 PM | | I have never seen a message about long hair on a guy being a problem. I only see the ones about no hair on a guy being a problem. Not no hair like all bald, but half no hair like only part way bald. And back hair, that's another one. And once in a while some sexually frustrated woman complains about a man who has that unibrow, where their eyebrows meet across in the middle making one eyebrow instead of the usual two. You have to understand that women spend an inordinate amount of attention on their own appearances, including their hair. Somehow that makes them think they are hair authorities and hair police. You get caught in the hair policing frenzy along with the rest of the men. Think about it. How fanatical of a hair obsession does a woman have to have in order to pay someone to wax her hoochie? It's dead serious for more than a few of our fair counterparts. | |

This isn't attractive to some people. I can't change it. And I know guys who love long hair on a woman and refuse to date someone with short hair. People like what they like. | |

I'm assuming that these people do not understand that metal is making a huge comeback(it's especially huge in Europe). Why else would Metallica(not on my favorites list) finally put out a decently hard album. While there are many fans of metal that have short hair, there are not many things cooler looking at a metal show than someone doing the windmill with there hair. Anyway, it has been my experience that there are not many female metal fans so if you, like me, grow your hair out, be prepared to not have as many women attracted to you. period | |

Posted: 3/25/2009 8:27:39 PM | My $.02 is I love a guy with long hair. Long as it's not very thin and scraggly looking. Shorter is better for that type of hair. A guy with gorgeous long hair (enough to make me jealous!) will start me drooling, though:P
My problem is there seems to be very few guys willing to have long hair. At least ones interested in me, anyway:P | |

It's not a hippie thing...I look at it as a personal preference. I do like men to change up their looks long hair with side burns or soul patch etc.
I have a couple of cousins that have hair down to their waist. To them it's a cultural statement. | |

Posted: 3/25/2009 10:16:15 PM | I had the long hair, all one length and about 3/4 of the way down my back (I am 6'3") until June 2007. And it was resplendent..it had natural waves to it, I kept it clean and brushed and treated with spray-on conditioner, over time it turned several shades of brown and red toward to the ends...I knew chicks were jealous of it because they told me so.
But you know what? I whacked that sh!t off to look good in front of the judge who heard my divorce, because he had say in how much I got to see my kids. In the time since, I have heard sooo many women--some I have known for years and some I just met--say I look better with it short, so I have never looked back.
OP it's just hair. Cut it and feel good about it. You can always grow more (can't you?) And the people who ragged on you for the cap-over-long-hair look are soooo right...that just says lazy loser louder than you can possibly imagine. Most of the guys I have known who had that look were just that. | |

I see the length of your hair doesn't suit the shape of your face and there's no body to your hair.
It would look much better still long, but with about two inches cut off and a little layered and for pete's sake, stop putting it behind your ears.
You'll look much better and you'll still get to wear long hair. | |

Posted: 3/27/2009 3:29:44 AM | Well, if it was a long haired mullet I think I would laugh too much to find anything attractive about that guy. If the hair is clean and kept neat I would have no problem. As others stated, some men can pull it off and some can't. Just like some women can pull off bangs but I can't so I don't.
Never change for anyone. If you want long hair, keep it unless it's a mullet.

I mean we all have preferences and just because mine is for a guy with shorter hair, yours might be for a girl with red hair. You'd be surprised how many guys have "indicated" to me they weren't interested because they prefer women with long hair. So each to their own. | |

But sadly most of them didn't work, were in some garage rock band and thought they were too good for me. Just like some women. It depends on many factors, height/weight & the shape of the face.
I have always preferred long hair on men. I never realized until watching "Born on the 4th of July", that some men do NOT look good in long hair
& that some men, can actually look good, in shorter hair. Cheekbones play a big part, IMO. Tom Cruise has gorgeous cheekbones! | |

I've dated men with long hair--one, in fact, had hair halfway down his back with natural curl. It was beautiful, and he took care of it without overly fussing with it. (He and I are still friends, and I still love to play with his hair when I see it.)
I've seen men with long hair that was ratty and unkempt. Complete turnoff.
I've dated men with short, military-style cuts, and it suited them.
And I've dated men with hair lengths inbetween the two extremes.
The main key is *grooming*. If the hair is clean, brushed/combed, well-kept, length won't matter quite so much. | |

But he must keep in mind that he will have to find a woman who likes him and his hair simple as that If not and its a problem you need to make a choice the hair or the girl.
Or simply move on.

Well OP.... As much as we would ALL like to believe this to be the case, it is not.
Initially, online, it comes down to attraction. Its all we have to go on from the get go.
I, personally, like a man who has long hair. But there are certain criteria that has to be met.
Number one is cleanliness, then upkeep.
In your case, I think your hair has the possibility to be beautiful. But, you need to lose that hat. It hides your wisps of curls.
Everyone has preferences and attractions. You say you plan on not cutting yours, well then find a gal who loves long hair. There are plenty of them out there.

Posted: 3/28/2009 7:39:33 AM | Look long hair sometimes is ok, but it must not be working for you. Not sure why you think you look like a tool with it short, as the photo of you with it long....definitely isn't "selling" a quality product...
I think the issue is how you're appearing physically with your current hair style. If you like it - then make it work, but you may be losing women's interest because of it.
That then makes it your choice to be alone and undesireable. | |

That said, OP I just looked at your profile, you have beautiful eyes and I think your hair detracts from them and that hat isn't helping either. I think you would look more attractive without the hat and a hair cut. Clearly your best feature is your eyes, I think if you cut your hair they would stand out more. | |
