| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/27/2009 10:23:28 AM | i feel like long hair on a guy is emasculating. Its to feminine for me, I like "manly men" and I unno, long hair for me is a huge turn off because I follow 'traditional' gender roles. If you hair is longer then Wolverines, then no thank you.
also- most long haired men dont maintain it well and dont cut it/wash it, or style it. although when a guy with long hair has nicer hair then mine, believe me there is envy lol.
People will like you for you, but it the dating world, sometimes they go by first impressions which is often what you look like- it blows but its true.

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/27/2009 5:08:24 PM | | It's not my thing. It looks feminine to me. I love myself a military cut mmm or the even 50's styles like Elvis wore. I don't know why but I find spikey hair very sexy too. | |

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/27/2009 6:23:30 PM | Hey OP....I just took a look at your profile and saw that you said you cut your hair!!! Where are the pics....we wanna see! I have no problem with long or short hair on a guy....as long as it's maintained, healthy, etc. My ex was a Paiute Indian and he had his hair longer than mine for years--looked good on him. It's just a matter of what you think fits your personality, OP. I'll bet you've noticed a difference already in the responses you're getting from women, too--haven't you? Do tell. | |

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/27/2009 6:29:50 PM | Everyone knows long hair on MOST men is not even for poofs.
Gay men have much more style....
Long hair on a man is a strong statement- you either carry it off very well or you dont - there is no imbetween and women will spot that a mile off.
Very few men can carry it off.
You have conditioned yourself to think you look a tool with short hair - infact I suspect you are somewha t lazy and a coward, lack self esteem, don't give a toss about mainstream fashion, society etc. If you are not - unfortunately that is how a lot of people will judge you - righly or wrongly. if youwant a make a stand on your hair - do it - but stands cost.
Either way a lot of women are not going to be into it, in the same way a lot of blokes are not into shaven headed women at this moment in time.
really isnt rocket science and just becuase some girls said they liked your hair doesnt mean they want to sleep with you...

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/28/2009 4:12:39 AM | | generally "long hair on a guy" means one of those terrible, greasy, stringy ponytails you see everywhere. personally, i can see why women would pass on that. | |

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/28/2009 8:42:34 AM | Damn ! I sure don't see a problem ! As long as hair is clean and well kept - I love long hair on guys ! Loose, ponytail, whatever . Beards and mustaches too .
Of course like anything - doesn't always work for everyone . And there will always be people that may judge someone based on your chosen hair length - and in the job arena , that can get tricky ( GET the job first - then grow it ! ) .
But then no matter HOW you decide to present yourself - some will be attracted - some won't ... Find the ones that ARE !

And there will always be people that may judge someone based on your chosen hair length - and in the job arena , that can get tricky ( GET the job first - then grow it ! ) . Funny, back in '96, the state agency I was working for at the time was voted closed by the legislature, and I was thrown into the work force. I went on a lot of interviews for other state jobs, always sure to tell them that "I like my hair long, but it's not a life or death matter. If it makes a difference, it will cut." Didn't get the jobs. Then I lined up an interview with the Highway Patrol and I decided that in such a bastion of conservatism as a law enforcement agency, I would break down and cut it before I even went to the interview. I had worn my hair in varying lengths, but always shoulder length or longer, since high school, and people who knew me and saw me with my hair cut told me that I just didn't look like "me."
I didn't get the job with the highway patrol, and I haven't entered a barbershop since.
Beyond the fact that I really don't much care what anyone thinks of it anyway, throughout all these years, I've had more compliments on my hair from ladies and more derogatory comments from guys. (Since I'm not actively trying to attract males anyway, guess what their opinions of my looks count for!)

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 5/28/2009 4:26:48 PM | ive dated guys with long, short or no hair, when i was younger if the guy didnt have long hair i didnt wana know but i became less picky as i got older lol, alot of women think if a guy has long hair they r trouble, i know that isnt the case, just look at some of the police progs on tv, most of the troublemakers have short hair lmao or the other reason is they dont like it if a guy has longer hair than they do, sad really, all guys need a chance.

Long hair on a man is a strong statement- you either carry it off very well or you dont - there is no imbetween and women will spot that a mile off.
Very few men can carry it off. I must strongly disagree. Short hair only looks good on males under the age of 5. Short hair on an adult man just looks nasty. It makes their head look like a different body part. I might add one that females don't have.
As to gender roles. I don't believe in gender roles, just be yourself rather than trying to fit into some role society feels you should be in.
I will never understand if I lived forever where it became normal for males to cut thier hair above their ears.

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 10/18/2009 11:42:22 PM | A guy should wear his hair in a way that makes him feel comfortable ... (as should a woman)...
Personally I love the long hair look on guys, though it's what is inside the heart that matters.
I think a lot of people tend to think long hair on guys = a bad boy type or having once been one, however I do not believe that sterotype is true.

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 11/4/2009 8:42:22 PM | My first boyfriend way back when had long hair...he had more hair products than me and my hair went down to my waist...he also used to keep me waiting to blowdry his locks,...dont get me started about how he used to complain about the humidity...then on the other specter my last ex also had long hair for a while in our relationship but he was horrendous with its upkeep...so long hair on men sends shivers of yuck and oye down my back...short hair rocks :) | |

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 11/5/2009 4:43:37 AM | | Not a fan of long hair. Then there are the guys with the gray hair that are bald on top and have a ponytail in the back...not attractive to me at ALL. | |

I grow my hair and donate it to Locks of Love. They make wigs from donated hair and give them to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. I have a friend that does that and charity of that magnitude can make someone so attractive beyond the physical aspect. I've never been a huge fan of terribly short hair on guys myself, although most guys end up going that way either from military lifestyle or losing their hair in my experience. I personally like a handful to grab at playfully, lol. But you have to also be up to letting me style it once in a while as I keep mine short.

Only few people look good with shorth hair. Obviously way more guys look better with shot hair and with no hair then women do wiith each.If you com on a site like this, you have to look good without any headdome, or else you'd might as well pack your bags and go home!!!! Hun, i've kept my hair fairly short since I was 15 , and that has never once put me on the sidelines dateing-wise. I've actually had more guys send me messages complimenting my short hair ... but it's all individual preference. I don't really "go for" bald guys either, but that doesn't mean i'd turn a guy down for that reason alone. And I had an ex tell me I should grow my hair out (mind you I had short when we met and were together for years at that point) and my response was "Are you going to take care of it?" That hushed him, lol. I'm not changing myself for any guy. Accept me for me or move the heck on

| Whats the problem with long hair on a guy ? Posted: 11/7/2009 11:28:27 AM | The last time my hair was shorter than the 1964 Beatles look, was...uh...1964. My hair has been as long as down to my butt, long enough to sit on the end of it. I've gone for years at a time with a pony tail. I get tired of it and cut it back to the '64 length and style. I kept it cut for a dozen years for the spouse, then I didn't want the resentment I was harbouring, so it grew out again. Almost every time I've gotten it cut, it was for someone else. Since there hasn't been a "someone else" for the last couple of years, it's growing out, again. Long hair has never presented a problem for me, other than other people's reactions to it. That's their problem. It was suggested that I cut it for dating purposes, to which I laughed. If you want me, the hair is part of me. It's not a statement, it's what occurs when I don't make the statement that I'm willing to conform to someone else's preference. If you've got it, flaunt it. I've still got it, so I'll flaunt it. You don't like it? Too bucking fad. I don't want to fraternise with someone who prefers it cut short. I've always preferred long hair, on both genders. The woman of my dreams prefers long hair. On both genders. We are who we are.
