| Men vs. women Posted: 5/6/2009 2:57:05 PM | The only people who really dont want women to be like men is men <-----Does NOT want women to be like men.
In a general sense though, all quite accurate points.

| Men vs. women Posted: 5/6/2009 3:50:01 PM | [everyone from Businesses to feminists want women to be like men.] I disagree completely. Sure in the 80's women were supposed to be like men in the work environment, but now people can be people. I think there is more tolerance and acceptance that women do things slightly differently than men. We both have the same emotional capabilities, just men are socialized to "be tough" keep feelings bottled up, but there is that wonderful variability within people, men and women. Depending on your upbringing, and who you are, your genetic background, your capabilities are slightly different from all other men or women out there. Yes there are generalizations about how men communicate versus women, and yes in the past I think those generalizations were biased against women- we were wrongly thought to be the weaker sex, and made to take on a more aggressive "male" way of presenting ourselves to the world, but those stereotypes are thankfully being broken down. It is easier to communicate with women if you are a women, it comes naturally, and vice versa. Neither way is right, or better, they are just different, and that difference needs to be understood and appreciated. | |

| Men vs. women Posted: 5/6/2009 3:56:59 PM | this is again modern feminist gender theory that men are socialized to be like this.
ever think men are naturally like this and women are naturally not like this and the socialization comes in to control how we act with our own natural instincts
Men are naturally more violent and tend to be more territorial then women due to chemicals in our bodies
also interesting stat that the majority of murders have more testosterone then the avg male

| Men vs. women Posted: 5/7/2009 8:45:26 AM | | Sure there is that biological/genetic component- men have testosterone, women not so much. However within the male population there is variability in amount produced, same as with women. The way man are is a combination of both socialization and genetics. I think the OP was more along the lines of feelings, emotions. Yes both men and women are capable of these feelings, so really we are not totally different on that level, but there are differences in our behaviour and way of interacting due to biology and socialization. | |

| Men vs. women Posted: 5/7/2009 3:52:26 PM | | I think besides the obvious biological differences...men and women are very much alike in thier wants and needs...women and men just go about getting it in different ways. Everybody wants to be loved and share their lives with someone...women fall in love through their brains, SOME men not so much, ...women internalize a lot of the pain of past relationships...blaming themselves or wondering what's wrong with them...men seem to go into a protective mode and feel most women are going to hurt them again...of course its generalities...but its what i think....what do I know though...I am here talking about men...instead of getting out there and meeting one LOL. | |

| Men vs. women Posted: 5/8/2009 11:55:13 AM | I would say men and women have very different wants and needs in the basics
How many women do you know wish to conquer vs how many men wish to.
