Nope, have not broken a cell phone.

However, I now carry mine in a leather case that is built for it.

So, get a leather case for it, you will be surprised how much that leather case can absorb without damaging the cell.

Even a simple drop on the floor, a leather case can save your cell phone from being broken.

"I'm wondering what the ratio between people breaking cell phones and cell phones breaking people might be?"

True enough, dude, not too sure tho, but, got a call awhile from Telus Mobility, and they were trying to sell me on the idea, of if I had another family member, who needed a cellphone, and told them no.

Man, what these cell phone outfits will try and do for extra money.

As forbreakage ofmy cell phone,I don;t haveany, and withthe leather case, does it ever protect the cell phone from physical damage, should ya accidently drop it onto the floor.

Plus it protects it from physical wear and tear as well.

It is a Motorola W-385, nothing too overly special, has a few little goodies, but serves me well, without having to go to the Blackberry. And Motorola, has got a good name behind it, they are also the makers of mobile two way radio communications equpment.

A few days ago my cell phone splashed into a toilet bowl. Fortunately the water was clean.

I removed the battery and after I got home I wrapped the battery and phone in some paper towel and put them in a container with dry rice for two days. That didn't help. The water was trapped within the phone and I realized I needed to open it up to let it dry.

I searched online for disassembly instructions for cell phones but I was unable to find what I needed for my particular phone model.

I felt I had nothing to lose... get it working myself or face having to replace the phone, so I tackled the job.

I removed 6 tiny screws and at least I was able to get the case partially apart without breaking anything, open enough to let the water evaporate.

I put it back together last night and switched it on. Partway through the initialization sequence it switched itself off. I tried again, but it got further through the sequence before switching off. I thought it was hopeless but I tried one more time and the phone logged in without further problems.

It has some unsightly scratches on the case but it seems to be working fine now.

I once slide my cell phone across the table to my friend who failed to catch it. This was a tall bar style table on the sidewalk. Needless to say, the phone shattered upon hitting the concrete...

Miracle of miracles: though it was in many pieces, including circuit boards and visable wiring, we were able to put in back together and secure our work with just a dab of crazy glue where the casing had snapped and voila! I used that phone for another year before I upgraded to an Iphone. FYI: It was a Nokia flip phone (tough little suckers)

Currently I keep my Iphone in a rubber treaded Roots phone case, 'cause those phones are super slippy. I haven't dropped it yet, but I'm hoping if I do, that the rubber will provide some cushion and protect the phone. I've heard that the hard Iphone cases just crack and break along with your phone so what's the point of them?

A few days ago the lid came off my hairspray bottle and it soaked everything in my purse, including my cell phone. I though that it was broken but I took balled eagle's advice and rinsed the phone. I then took a blow dryer to the sim car, battery and phone. Yay, it is now working again.

Thanks Balled Eagle! You rock!

I left my three year old telus LG flip on the truck bumper for three rainy days...
opened it and it was fizzed
towel dried it, hair dried it...left it on the furnace vent for two days...the first day it turned on...indecipherable lines...second day...reversed words, but, at the end of the day actually rang like a sick turkey when i phoned it from my home phone...
now I feel like it's "rescued" and I need to caretake the stupid thing...works like a damn!!
grandson's pictures are even all intact
