| Tattoos on women turn on or turn off? just curious Posted: 1/29/2008 7:52:24 PM | It depends on who etched the tattoo; I've seen hideous artwork before and I've seen works of beauty.
What I DON'T like: Single tattoos on the arms, legs or even on one side of the body, are a turn off; they just look unclassy to me (almost like gang or military symbols). A single tattoo, unless it's symmetrically placed on the back or front pelvic area (like a Celtic knot) is just plain distasteful in my humble opinion. I also think that tattoos on the neck are rather distasteful as well as on one breast; small to very small tattoos are the worst...
What I DO like: I do however, admire a girl who is covered with tattoos that are colorful and vibrant. She can tattoo her entire body for all I care, as long as they she doesn't leave any gaps exposed; I really like those "collage" style tattoos that run across the entire body for some reason. Suicide Girls for example have the best tattoos.
Well, they don't always have to fill up space; I think those Celtic knots and rose vines are sexy because they kind of wrap around the body like a scarf... Like I said before, I'm real big on symmetry and pattern; a tattoo has to flow right in order to be considered "sexy".
Yeah... I know... I'm a superficial and shallow a$$ hole... But at least I'm an honest one.

| Tattoos on women turn on or turn off? just curious Posted: 1/29/2008 10:01:50 PM | I don't have a huge experience with men in alot of tattoos. The ones I have been with that have ink tho, all for personal reasons and I love the thought that goes into them.
I am just new to the "getting heavily tattooed" status, yet when I get dressed and walk out the door in the morning I don't think twice. My large piece on my right leg is covered by skirts or dresses at all times so I think its more for me than the general public.

Not a sleeve, but a leg lol. I just cover it and unless the subject comes up I don't mention them. Even in the business world I tend not to mention to what extent I am tattooed.

Think twice about where you ink up people. It's all good when you're 25 and in great shape but those tats aint gonna look so hot when you're pushin 40.

True, I think it is a bit of a subjective thing, but my answer was to the original question (fo you personally find tatoos attractive) and I don't find them attractive at all. I just have never found them as something that is attractive, even if sometimes they are very intricate and well done.

But the dude with drunkymcdrunk as his profile name.... thats not exactly something to be proud of. And I am pushing 40, and had nothing but compliments on my leg work. However, I am sure I am opening the door to some sort of insult.
I guess the point is, if you want something (tanned athletic body, tattoos, piercings, shaved head, facial hair, long nails)... and its within your power to do it, I say go ahead and do it. While those who don't like what you choose, the ones that love you will either try to understand or get that its just a small part of who you are.

My screen name is just that, a sn. Didn't you ever learn NOT to judge a book by it's cover?
And notice I said" where you get inked". Your leg is a great place to get inked because it won't change much over the years, the skin will stay relatively tight. I've seen some guys and girls get big tats on their bellies or chest, and in 20 years that floral across the mid section may look more like dried prunes stuck yo your stomach.
Old people covered in wrinkly tats are not attractive, but whatever, I won't be dating them so I really don't care.

I am a heavily tattooed person at 52 and not old and wrinkly yet. Everyone gets old and wrinkly and what is the diff having colored wrinkles over non colored wrinkles? I won't be dating you so it doesn't matter to me as well. I think you don't really know what you are talking about because I have seen really old tattooed people and they still look great!

If it is really artistic and appears to have required some thought prior to being placed on a body, they are extremely sexy. It shows the person to be adventurous and somewhat introspective. Women especially rarely seem to display the "got drunk and stopped for ink on our way for breakfast" or prison (black ball-point ink and a sewing needle) tats. Also in my experience, women tend to put more thought into what they place on their skin. For people that consider tattoos as an art form, that makes ink on women a lot more enjoyable. You often hear about women being attracted to the "bad boy". The number of men here that consider them to be sexy, seems to demonstrate that the attraction is common to a lot of men too!

Perhaps you've hit on something. My leg piece is a family garden. Thought out when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. All aspects have meaning. My two sons picked the butterflies, the ladybug for my mum who is an avid gardener. I have another further up, a tree frog on a bloom for my husband whom picked it out. The flowers and vines, represent the family unit.
Next step, dragon fly for me, bumble bee for my dad, some more vines and flowers.

| Tattoos on women turn on or turn off? just curious Posted: 2/1/2008 1:12:55 PM | It Depends on where they are and how extravagent. Large tattoos that are visible when she is conservativly dressed is almost always a turnoff because 9 times out of ten the motive for obvious tattoos is a lack of self esteem and the need to "wear something meaningful " on your skin. There is a reason that most places won't hire you if you have uncovered tattoos because it shows a lack of class and maturity.
Tattoos on butt cheeks are really hot as long as they are not to large. Tattoos in the small of the back are also attractive most of the time. It also depends what the tattoo is of sometimes. Tribals are generally not very attractive on women but some women can pull them off make their butt sexier. For the most part flowers and ribbon messages are the most attractive to me.
