Just what is a gal to do? Was I suppose to jump in and help or apologize and cover him up again? Is there a rule on etiquette for this situation... ?

LOL Guess he wasn't THAT good of a friend.....or this would be in the Sex Forum, huh?
I think the official etiquette is to greet your new guest with a helping hand. But I might be mistaken. What DID you do? Inquiring minds want to know...don't leave US hanging too! lol

I can only echo the previous posters...
OH. MY. GOD.

Mmm. What did he say??? You can't leave us like this, pssssst..well you could, but it would be cruel..
I think I would have said something along the lines of..
"What the hell do you think you're DOING?"
Oh goodness...

I see three choices:

1) Hum Hail to the Chief and Salute the Monkey smartly

2) Scream "OMG it's a snake" and reach for the nearest blunt object

3) Say out under your breath but loud enough for him to hear "I wonder what Lorena Bobbitt would do in a situation like this?"

I mean, he was "spanking" it, so it musta been bad....*chuckling to herself*
I prefer the term naughty

Being that I noticed you're listed as 'not single/not looking'....
Didn’t read the rest huh?

So you have booked another movie night lol
Actually, yes, I have… and he’s suggested this movie for the evening…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanking_the_Monkey

And I’m bringing more of that liqueur… I don’t want to run out this time…

So, other than that, Psssst…how was the movie??
Movie?

Oh… yeah… I don’t exactly recall…

Mmm. What did he say??? You can't leave us like this, pssssst..well you could, but it would be cruel..
It wouldn’t be proper for me to kiss and tell now would it?

What did you want to do? If you wanted to help, why didn't you? I am sure he wouldn't have protested.

Perhaps he wished to be a better friend and was showing his gratitude.

Personally I would have burst out laughing.

Of course, asking him to express his feelings went completely out the window...

He makes a wonderful dinner and after we load the dishwasher, we settle in the livingroom with a movie and some drinks.

Oh no..........................................................did you say drinks??

Is there a rule on etiquette for this situation... ?

Well........he obviously WAS that "type of friend".....if you're not "kissing and telling"....

and it sounds like his "ploy" worked!!
and he was just getting primed for the real event!!

You made it sound like this was just a regular friend that you just hang out with .....
with no sexual interaction.....

Ummm...don't you think he'd probably already expressed enough of his umm...personality by that point anyway?

I mean, depending on the situation or relationship, there's a right time and a wrong time to just whip out Mr Happy....but if whipping it out was the best way this man could "express his emotions" then...

Well hell, who are we kidding. You don't REALLY think that the man in question in this scenario couldn't find a better way to display his feelings?

Ohhhhh... thank you... that could be our wedding song and I would owe it all to you...

But nothing so straight-forward...

yeh,right.....actually,you should watch your original movie, seeing as how you didnt actually see ANY of it..................*wink*
Are you insinuating something? I saw the first whole 30 minutes of the movie before things... errrrr... got a little animalistic...

Well, since you are both having another go at 'watching a movie' together and you are planning on bringing more liqueur, we can only assume that you were pretty well enthralled with your friend's little primate . Obviously, you have romantic thoughts about this man , so why not just express them and then he won't have to be playing all alone under the comforter . While he's spanking his monkey, you can pet your kitty... or take care of each other's pets.

When you think you've heard and seen just about everything someone always amazes you. I've been on strange dates before but that is with women. You girls suffer in different ways.

Must have been a really small monkey for to have not taken notice to the shoulder dipping.

By chance did the monkey look like this ->

Some movie suggestions for your next meeting:

Close Encounters

It came from beneath

Monkey Business

Have fun, Bob!!

Is there a rule on etiquette for this situation... ?

You did say it was his house. So his couch and his comforter (assuming you didn't bring your own). So proper etiquette is to leave if his behavior as a host is offensive to you, stay and help if you are interested, or stay and ignore it if not offended but not interested in helping. Refrain from condemning or judging him in his own home that you are a guest in, assuming he is not forcing you to stay and participate.

LOL...for some strange reason I am reminded of that cheesy commercial for the "snuggie". It's a fleecy blanket, but with sleeves, so you can use the phone and such while staying snuggly warm, according to the commercial. If your friend had been in a snuggie instead of under a normal blanket, you'd have been able to see his arms and hands! So for just $29.99 you could have been saved from the horrible spectacle of the poor monkey taking a beating! Maybe pick one up before your next movie night.

...only to find that he was… spanking his monkey!

You know serial killers usually start out by abusing animals.

A proper lady would get a tiny little hat and, without comment, cover the offending...

monkey, er, member, um wait, tool? [Frig, just a minute...HEY EMILY!! How does one properly call one's friend's c^ock? Ah, thank you so much.]

...phallus.

PS--Which movie? I have a date tonight.
