I need to shake my old booty on the dancefloor lol - Anyone from Leicester going to this event?? would like to share travel costs and need a lift:)..
Hey Princess, hope you manage to sort the ride to Derby. Would be really nice to see you at a local event again. Good luck.
hiya need some help with this one as i dont know where the zanzibar is in derby is anyone coming from the notts area at all that maybe wants to share a car?
As it happens pharoh 2008, the map (a link to which you’ll find in message No.1 on page one) shows you exactly where the club is. You’ll also find pretty foolproof directional text to both the pre-meet pub and main venue too. In fact, I strongly encourage everyone interested in coming along to read the whole of message No.1 before signing to or attending the event. Good luck with the car sharing. It’s always good to see newcomers at our parties and, as is often said, the more the merrier.
See you later folks. | |

Hey, no worries dear lady. Your chosen profile photo is showing amongst the others signed up to attend the Zanzibar party on Friday the 15th, so I guess you must have done something right.
However, I note that you’re not listed with attendees of the picnic. Not to worry if you’re struggling to sign up to that one though. If you still intend coming, all you have to do is show up at the designated time and place in Markeaton Park, details of which you’ll find in message No.1. Come to think of it, for anyone interested in joining the picnic tomorrow, simply click the highlighted/underlined link below and you’ll go straight to the signup thread:
*DERBY PICNIC* MARKEATON PARK. Derby. *SUNDAY* MAY 10th, from 2.30 pm. http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts12129264.aspx
As always everyone, please ensure you read all details in message No.1 before signing up to or attending any event. Thanks and see you all soon.
Regards

| *DERBY MAY PARTY*. Zanzibar, London Road. *FRIDAY* MAY 15th Posted: 5/12/2009 6:43:59 AM | Thanks for posting, TrulyScrumshus. Funnily enough, I’ve just received confirmation from the club’s manager that my earlier request for the deal to be extended to our party has been accepted. Hence, I’ve sent the following message (which I’ve edited slightly for this forum) to all attendees currently signed up:
STOP PRESS…PLEASE READ…UPDATE ON THE DRINKS TARIFF FOR FRIDAY’S ZANZIBAR PARTY…
Dear party attendee
Instead of us getting the usual free drink voucher on entry to the club, please note that a venue promotion that has now been running for two weeks has been extended to our party. Effectively this means that to encourage people to socialise in the current economic climate, any drink during the whole duration of Friday’s event will set you back a measly 89 pence each.
That’s right, folks, JUST EIGHTY-NINE PENCE per drink. Suffice it to say that I’m sincerely obliged to the manager for extending the same courtesy to our party as the rest of the club and I’ve naturally thanked him on everyone’s behalf.
When it comes to promoting these events, everyone can play an active role by spreading the word as far and wide as possible. I’d therefore appreciate it if everyone who reads this message will inform at least one other person they feel may be interested in joining us. At just 89p per drink, the party should really be rocking and it would be a shame for anyone ignorant of the promotion to miss out on a real value-for-money event.
In closing, I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday and thank you all again for signing up.
Regards as always
BarbelBil.
PS: Note that the relevant section of message No.1 on page one now reads as follows:
**FREE ENTRY TO ALL POF members/guests, plus all drinks just 89 pence each ALL EVENING!**

| *DERBY MAY PARTY*. Zanzibar, London Road. *FRIDAY* MAY 15th Posted: 5/13/2009 4:50:15 PM | HI ALL
Just popped in with an update on the potential attendance for Friday evening. With the 38 guests added to the 61 members above, we have 99 folks officially listed.
Surprisingly, quite a few members haven't yet grasped the relatively simple process of signing up. Hence, the repeated intructions below are for the benefit of anyone who wishes to sign up between now and Friday evening.
HOW TO SIGN UP TO EVENTS
For the record, SIGNING UP to any POF event is easy and there are two ways of which I’m aware that members can add themselves to the list.
1st: Once you’ve gained access to the opening post of the party thread, and after reading all relevant details, simply scroll down until you reach the top row of attendees' photos. Just above this you’ll see a button that clearly says, “Sign up to this party (login first)”. Click the button and, if requested, log in your username and password. All you need to do then is check whether your name and chosen profile image is amongst those members already signed up. Job done.
2nd: Having gained access to post No1 of the thread promoting the party, scroll to the top right-hand corner and click the ‘login icon’. Now scroll back down the page to locate the signup button just above the top row of attendees already listed, click it and your chosen profile image will then be present amongst the others. You’re now signed up, but please ensure you read all relevant event details in the opening post before raising any questions that are almost sure to be answered there.
Thank you all and cheers for now.

| *DERBY MAY PARTY*. Zanzibar, London Road. *FRIDAY* MAY 15th Posted: 5/14/2009 1:29:44 PM | Hi
Just had a private message informing me that someone had left an earlier post here containing a telephone number whilst I wasn’t monitoring the thread. I have no idea who left the message, as it seems to have been deleted, either by a moderator or, better still, the contributor him/herself. It’s arguably much better to rectify our own mistakes than have someone else do it for us.
For the record, publicly displaying personal telephone numbers contravenes forum-posting rules and therefore SHOULD NOT be done under any circumstances. As far as I’m concerned, Markus (Admin, Bigfish) has created a brilliant website and social networking medium from which many of us benefit in so many ways. Therefore, where possible, please let us all try and respect his work by familiarising ourselves with and adhering to the rules that in so many cases are there to protect us as much as anything else. No offence whatsoever is intended by this reminder.
Now back to our normal course of events:
Wooo hooo 89p!! Can I book a seat at the bar lol.
Yeah, I guess your good self and many others might request that particular privilege, Shimmer.
Re the potential attendance, with members and guests combined, we now currently stand to see a possible 110 attendees at tomorrow’s Zanzibar party. Please, by all means, do feel free to keep adding your names folks. You’ll find instructions for signing up in my message No.39 above, whilst the signup button itself is incorporated into message No.1 on page one.
Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Kind regards

Hi all, haven't been to one of these for ages, feel the need now…Damn, what the hell shall I wear and have I got time to get ready?
Hey there Ghostwatch. Hope you manage to get ready in time, will be good to see you at an event again.
I should be bringing about 8 people with me to this event…
Blimey Rebellious One, now that’s what I call a good bit of recruiting. Well-done fella. Hope all 8 are beautiful ladies in grass skirts or something equally excitingly Hawaiian. Only kidding of course, as we know FANCY DRESS IS ONLY OPTIONAL. Just couldn’t resist the little quip. Sorry folks.
To All
Well, the day of the party has arrived and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again in just a few hours time. I know Derby revellers are notoriously slow to sign up. But even I’m surprised by how much the signup list has risen in numbers since I looked in only 3-hours ago. Absolutely brilliant quick-fire response folks.
FOR ANY APPREHENSIVE NEWCOMERS amongst you, don't forget that we hold the earlier pub pre-meet drinking session to which you can always pop along to break the ice and settle in before attending the main club event. All relevant details re venues, times, etc, can be found in message N0.1 on page one. Please ensure that you read everything above the list of attendees in message No.1 before signing up to or attending this event. As for how to sign up, please see my message No. 39 just above this one.
If anyone struggles to sign up but would still like to attend, please don't worry. Latecomers not listed are equally welcome to join us with any number of guests, so by all means feel free to just pop along and tell the club staff you're there for the POF party.
As this will be my last post before closing the thread after the event, I’ll extend my thanks again to everyone who’s signed up and, where applicable, made valuable contributions on these pages.
See y'all in just over four hours.

| *DERBY MAY PARTY*. Zanzibar, London Road. *FRIDAY* MAY 15th Posted: 5/15/2009 5:47:44 PM | | The night started well at The Telegraph we met a few people and had a good laugh,we went on to Zanzibar's and found that they only serve larger no bitter so only stopped for one drink and left which seemed a pity as it looked as tho it was going to be a good night.I wont be going to Syn in July as I already know they don't sell bitter,I'm not a lager drinker and neither are my friends. It would be nice if we knew what drinks were on offer before we decide to go. I fancy trying a pof night in Notts but would not want to go if I could not have a drink. | |

| *DERBY MAY PARTY*. Zanzibar, London Road. *FRIDAY* MAY 15th Posted: 5/15/2009 7:02:47 PM | Well.... I'd like to thank those who made it a great evening for me.... especially those who graced the dancefloor with me... such charity!!! It's very much appreciated.
Thanks Barbelbil, for arranging yet another great party....
Now, get off your butt and arrange a Nottingham one - It would seem that, the credit crunch had arrived - but, with drinks so cheap - I've only one question.....
Why the hell did I chose to drive!!!!!
Thanks again to everyone and I will look forward to seeing the pics etc on the next post
