Fourums....or should that be forums? I see that you've been a member for a month, yet have many times more posts than those that have been here for years. You seem to be living here...am I correct? I also assume that you can't have sex and type your life away at the same time. Sooooooooo.....How's THAT working for YOU? A little careful reading might reveal that I said "and long before then"....I don't think the exact date of 1450 was necessary. I also see no claim of anything being my invention, other than your unnecessary details, you pretty much repeated my remarks. I guess "the real man" comment I made in the previous post yanked your chain a bit.....well, you know what they say...if the shoe fits?

To the men that have problems with shaving, just curious about how you would feel about the mother of your children at the beach and on either side of the crotch of the swimsuit you see...yes, the dreaded pubic hair. Just like woman shave their arm pits and legs, women have been trimming and shaving during bathing suit season for years. Now we have waxes, creams, etc. etc. to help keep things under control. I bring this up in case you go out with a woman and you have problems with her being bare. Remember she doesn't want to be embarrassed at the beach.

Wow if THAT wasn't just about the weakest attempt at a validation...

FAIL.

Unless she's allergic to the razor or trimmer and has a "power muff"...one would have to get pretty damn close and be gawkin' to see if she has strays hangin' out the side. Or if she makes it a habit of sitting spread eagle in her beach chair for all to see and actually encourages the gawkin'...your explanation and attempt at validation for shaving is weak at best.

Yea...FAIL.

Ummm no actually, ya just sit there. Ya look down and if it wasn't trimmed, oh my yeah, red faced city. Of course I realize that not everyone has straight hair and may not have straggles, but some of us so do. I live in my bathing suit in the summer and if I can see something, you know someone else can! It is best to keep things shaved/trimmed to avoid any such experiences.

Some women actually extend beyond the swimsuit line onto their leg area. I am sure their removal is more extensive than anything I have had to do.

When you lay down, unless you have really heavy thighs, there is a space between your thighs. You have hair on your pubic area which is now on top of your body when you lay down, no spreading required. Pubic hair is on top of the pubic bone and goes down under and back up to the rear. It can be a quite large area on some women and there isn't much material provided for bottoms.

Nope, I am one mother that sure doesn't want to find any hair out of place!

Actually, body hair removal was being done in the times of the Egyptian Pharaohs. All body hair except for the hair on their head, eyebrows and eyelashes was removed using a process called smoothing or sugaring. It was made up of sugar, lemon and some other natural ingredients and cooked until it was much like today's waxes. The paste would be rubbed off or pulled off taking the hair with it. In harems hair removal was mandatory.

Just as it was sexy for a man to have hairy chests in the 80's its not so today.

Hey, I like my hairy chest, even if it means I have to buy a ticket to LEAVE the zoo...

Wow, mtn. lover, I didn't know if you'd respond at all, but I certainly didn't expect you to go ad hominem in the first line of your response. The fact is that I created this account for the sole purpose of commenting in the forums. Nonetheless, I'm still inundated with messages, presumably because women like what I write. I have even been coaxed into real life meetings despite my desire for anonymity (you know who you are ).

I did read your post carefully, despite the fact that it was a "wall of text". In fact, I noticed you said, "and long before then". I even specifically quoted it. I, perhaps erroneously, supposed that you would see my Wikipedia citation as confirming your statement that shaving had occurred before the gold rush. I did not mention Ancient Egypt (as another poster did) or other ancient cultures' depilatory trends, as I thought it might digress from the subject at hand.

The exact date of 1450 was embedded within what I found to be an educational and informative article. I didn't quote that specifically to call you out. In fact, in some ways I thought it proved your point - while also proving mine that a hairless vulva or surrounding area was cleaner and more apt to be disease- and pest-free.

So... I guess we've determined that my modus operandi is working quite well for me, even despite my intentions. I'll ask again...

I haven't dated in years for fear of what un-natural mutilated female genitalia someone could spring on me...

How's that working for you?

Monfil , I remember being on the beaches as a child and teenager in the fifties and sixties and the only females that didn't have a little fuzz sticking out of their bathing suits were girls under the age of 11. There wasn't such a thing as "the dreaded pube".....they were natural and accepted just like a topless Zooloo woman in Africa. That's part of my point about how warped and phobic our society is becoming. Our current ideals of modesty says that it's just fine to put your bare mound in the face of a total stranger for some tattoos and the ice pick treatment but heaven forbid someone on the beach should see one of your pubic hairs....is this ironic or what? I feel so sorry for todays woman and the burden that she feels necessary to creat for herself.....go to the tanning booth, get my hair done, my finger nails, toe nails..shave my legs, my pits, my kootchie....pluck my eyebrows, do my makeup, put on perfume, my hose, my heels, match my purse, install my clit ring, my nose ring and sixteen earrings......holy crap, I forgot to shower and I'm late for work! Ladies...what's the next time consuming craze you are going to add to the list? If it keeps going like this, you will be getting up at 4:00 am just to get finished in time for bed. Is there no limit on how much superficial trivia one will go through for the sake of trend? I tend to think that women spend so much time doing things they feel make them sexy, that there is no time left for sex Maybe because I'm old, I can look back and see how crazy things have gotten. I remember my Mom would get out of the shower, pull her hair back in a pony tail, slip into a summer dress, pair of pumps and she was ready for the world. She looked and smelled great and turned every head in eyesight. Men seem to remain the same over time but women keep evolving or morphing into stranger things.....the future scares me. I'm glad I won't be here to see it. I've seen a few already that I barely recognized as human.....especially when it comes to hair color, tattoos and taste in clothing......yep, I'm talking about fifty +year old women that allow their teenage daughter to teach them to shave, tattoo and dress to be cool.....I always thought it should be the other way around.....but what do I know? Could you imagine fifty or sixty year old men walking around with his cap on backwards and the a$$ of his pants below his knees with untied sneakers? You women would laugh your fannies off if we did such things. We don't take advice from or copy our sons, we allow THEM to look stupid and hope they grow out of it. I wish todays women would do the same, not a day goes by that I don't spot a tattooed gothic granny in skin tights with grey hair roots climbing into a mustang convertable.....and they talk about our midlife crises.

Dude, I seriously think your mom shaved her legs and pits and you didn't watch. Bathing suits in the 50's and 60's were lower cut, but even my mom told me that you had to check everything. It has never been acceptable for hair to be hanging out. Areas covered by a bathing suit are not for public display, only private. This is what we teach our sons and daughters.

I absolutely love being a woman, putting on baby oil and fragrance oils after I have shaved. Having soft skin is great. Doing my hair and makeup, making sure my fingernails and toenails are painted. It is fun being a woman, I absolutely enjoy wearing dresses too!

There are all kinds of people, that is what makes things interesting.

Monfil.......Dude?...you refer to all senior citizens as Dudes? My daughter is too old to use that terminology, so I doubt you are anywhere near old enough to know anything first hand about the fifties or sixties, I doubt that your mother is old enough.....but thanks for telling me about it.

I prefer a little hair. I've heard a lot of women say they do it because it makes them feel cleaner and they are afraid of having odor down there when they have hair. My experience has shown that in actuality the opposite is true because when you are completely shaved you actually tend to sweat more.

Mtn.lover, great post. the thing that stands out for me is the abosolute disgust many of the pro shaver/waxers have for the real female body, both male and female. Its disgusting, its dirty, I hate hair.... Kinda frightening really that these people have to have their bodies modified to enjoy sex, and that anyone who doesnt follow their so called "preferences" are wrong, disgusting and apparently dirty.

The pube comments are particularily amusing, I wasnt aware that sex is supposed to be a sanitized act

Personally i do not like hair below my neck.. but i have it and i cant do too much about it.... im not hairy but i have light coverage..... i occastionally have to trim down there and, like most females, it gets a little out of control otherwise.... personally, like my beliefs towards women's pubic area, i would prefer majority of the hair gone... just a neat little package just to let ladies know i try to keep up on my hygiene and that i dont want women comin up with pubes in their mouth either

Well i have to say, i like it when It's trimed and or shaved. It shows me that person cares about their personal hygiene. Personaly i keep mine trimed very short and parshally shaved. Sometimes i wonder, when i have sex with someone that doesn't at least trim it, if their trying to hide something down there. like herpies or some kind of rash. cleanliness is next to godliness

Actually my ex-husband is 60...way scary, so not only did I have a mommy that took me around hippy art shows, but my ex lived the hippy ways. He said "man" all of the time. My generation, area I grew up, used "dude." Of course I have to modify it when around women because they don't understand that dude referred to any human when I was growing up. Your language should reflect who you are. I use language on a daily basis to communicate things people can not touch to read. Making things colorful to read makes them more interesting. I am not everyone else, and I don't want to be everyone else. I am a unique speaking and thinking individual who loves to swim. Now mommy doesn't do the beach any more, but back in 50's she was on the cover of the Washington Post in her bathing suit after they opened the Delaware Bridge. So there was a time when my 71 year old mommy loved going to Rehoboth Beach and all that came with the sun, sand, and boys.

Dude, I hope you are happy with your life. I hope that you find what you are looking for and that you don't over look someone and compromise trying to live your life and enjoy your ride for fear of personal hygiene preferences. I prefer men not to shave their bodies, but am seeing one of those body builders that seem to think you see their muscle definition better when they are shaved. I sure am not kicking him to the curb because he is sans some hair! He isn't just what is on the outside, he truly is a gorgeous person on the inside.

Actually, it seems that the "short 'n' curlies" trend is already making its way back into popularity. Many porn stars who were totally shaven are leaving a bit there in newer films...or so I've heard. I mean, I've never actually SEEN one of those types of things, yeah, that's it! Seriously, though, some bush is on its way back. So ladies, how much hair do you like on a man in his "naughty zone"? Where one likes nothing, another likes some, or just parts trimmed...this is just as much our issue as well!

It's always a pleasure to see some fur sticking out of a woman's swimsuit. I like to think it's saying "This is a crotch that just doesn't know how to hide". Of course, the whole issue is different if you go to the nude beach. Then you can let it fly in the breeze, and get caught in the trees.

Grizzelda - I agree. People are WAY too hung up on the way their and their lovers bodies look and smell. The natural body of a healthy adult who follows basic hygiene is not dirty or disgusting. The militant people on both sides could be missing out on some great relationships just because the potential partner does or does not shave something. How silly is that...

While I prefer shaved, I also like the hair. Perfect situation is going a few months with either and then switching!

I don't have a problem with pubes and I don't believe being natural or shaved has any health benefits over the other. I just do not want to walk around looking like I have Chewbaca in my panties!

For me its just less time consuming to get rid of it all rather than shaving everything outside of the bikini line and then trimming back whats left.
