| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2009 5:08:07 PM | Kobe can't stand that he doesn't have a championship without Shaq and that Shaq has a ring without Kobe. Of course this won't matter much longer.
What will matter to Kobe is Shaq is at the end of his career and it is not likely Shaq will win another ring whereas Kobe has the chance to pass right by the big man. You know Kobe will enjoy beating Shaq in the race for the most rings!
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2009 5:35:28 PM | I'm sure Kobe is going to try and win as many rings as he can before he's done.... No doubt.
And by the way... It isn't that I'm a Kobe lover... I do like his game, and think he's a class act... (He is a Jerry Rice type player.... and works harder than just about anyone on his game) I'm glad he's playing for the Lakers. I hope he keeps playing here, and keeps winning rings... as long as they are Laker Championships... who cares who scores the most points?
If in five years it's a Farmar-Bynum Lakers team winning Championships... thats alright with me.

This could be the case. Kobe's skills are not going to diminish anytime soon. All the Kobe bashing fans need to realize Kobe has a lot of basketball to play in his career.

| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2009 5:55:02 PM | SLEEPLESS, apparently it is harder than you or the magic or any laker haters thought. Nerves ??? Really, I wonder what kind of nerves they will have after they go down 0-2 to la or when its 1-3 La or possibly even 0-3 La ? If that is the best the eastern conf has to offer, blah. Your beloved celtics got taken out by this team, at home, I guess they got more nerves than the celts. Well balanced team? Its been said time and time again, I guess you must have your head in the sand since bean town went down, that LA is the most balanced in the league. Their question has been heart and toughness, question it no more. LA IS HERE TO STAY.
Any of the top 3 teams from the Eastern Conf. can beat the Lakers? just not the celtics or the cavs and apparantly not the magic (in the finals) The best team will win, LA.
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2009 6:49:28 PM | Climbsagain, I'm sure this won't be Kobe's last ring either. He will have the last laugh in the Kobe-Shaq feud no doubt. With the kind of free agents L.A. can attract, and with a front office that seems to be smarter than pretty much everyone else in the NBA I see another 2, maybe 3 rings for Kobe.
The race to catch Jordan will be his next goal, now that Shaq is out of the picture.
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2009 7:05:53 PM | | Kobe had his game face on last night. Both metaphorically and physically. I have to give the Lakers their dues for Game 1. Kobe in particular. | |

Kobe wants to win the Championship.... PERIOD... this year, last year, next year it doesn't matter if it is with Shaq... without Shaq... or anyone else...
we will agree to disagree I guess...
I just think that it eats Kobe alive that he is 0-2 w/o shaq....and shaq is 1-0 w/o Kobe...
I know Kobe says all the right things, but he wants to win w/o shaq...JMO though...
Look, I have said a million times. He doesnt need to win anymore championship in my eyes, I think he is the best on the planet....he is unreal some of the crap he does. I personally think kobe will get 2 or 3 more championships...wont even matter at that point.
I mean, who cares really
I dont care, niether do you. Maybe all the laker fans dont care, but there is one person that does care....Kobe

Chicago.... Jordon had Pippin, Grant and Rodman
Jack, my point is that to the casual bball fan, the first thing people think of when it comes to the bulls is Jordan.
Me and you know the importance of the team, we also know bball, so we could name role players like Paxson, Kerr, Purdue,
the casual bball fan knows the celtics of the 80's, and the first name is going to be larry bird. Do you think they are gonna mention how big of a role Dennis Johnson played?....its Bird's celtics...to the casual fan.... casual fan...Magic's Lakers...
I know you have to win with a team, I know one person doesnt do it all...I get all that..not gonna disagree...Im just talking about there identity to the casual fan...

Do yo think Magic thought those were Kareem's Lakers?... or that Kareem thought they were Magic's Lakers? Champions... are Teams.... Lakers with Chamberlain, West and Baylor Lakers with Kareem, Magic and Worthy Lakers with Shaq, Kobe... and Horice Grant, and Robert Horry
The Laker teams are not, and never were a one man team.... as well as all Champions... It takes a team effort.
Boston.... Bird had McHale and Parish Boston.... Pierce had Garnett and Allen (Who's Boston team? Pierce's or Garnett's ?)
Chicago.... Jordon had Pippin, Grant and Rodman
Detroit... Thomas, Sally, Rodman and Laimbeer Detroit... Billups, Wallace and Richardson
San Antonio... Duncan, Robinson and Kersey San Antonio... Duncan, Parker and Ginobili

And Dallas has won what in recent years other than the worn out phrase? Can't hear you? The Dallas Cowboys have won what? Ask Pittsburgh or the Pats who might be referred to as the new team.

Other then the talking heads who uses this term?

| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/6/2009 2:14:19 PM | Knew you would say that. But did you like my concept about it?Not really . i would like ti think that America's team might win a playoff game from time to time. In fact it would be nice if America's team made it to the playoffs.
Really besides a handful of Cowboy fans and the talking heads? Does anyone use that old worn out phrase?

| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/7/2009 5:57:07 AM | Must win for the Magic. No way the Magic comes back to win if they fall tonight. The Laker's are just gearing up for the kill Magic fans. Break out the first aid kits and Bibles. The Magic are in for a wild ride and will need much help. | |
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/7/2009 10:38:28 AM | Game 1 was a big win.... The Lakers had to come away from that game psyched... So... A let down tonight is possible... and unfortunately, a Lakers MO throughout the playoffs.....
BUT NOT TONIGHT
Lakers win by 12
Ariza disappeared in game 1 on offense... had a great defensive game... But tonight... Ariza will hit a couple important 3's
OK... no... I don't think I'm psychic.... Just having fun with predictions.
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/7/2009 10:46:31 AM | Look at the numbers. When Phil's team wins game one in the finals the series is just about finished. This year will be no different. In fact the Magic should play closer to the the Laker's . The magic earned their way to the finals. | |

| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/7/2009 5:50:44 PM | | Alright no need to watch this game. Saw the referee assignments and know the outcome. Steve Javie = Lakers win. Good luck in Game 3 Magic. | |
|
| NBA Playoffs Posted: 6/7/2009 7:05:24 PM | | Magic have made it a dogfight. This is where they lost it in game one, so we'll see if they can hit their shots this time. | |
