They teach them safety in all things and to never give up a part of themselves to please others. Nevertheless, if a man feels anything like I do with his bike, I luv my toy because I can ride 'em anytime I want and I always enjoy it! I can let 'em be and he patiently waits for when I'm ready to ride 'em again.  He doesn't try to make me do things I don't want to do, and ready to go whenever I want to go out with 'em somewhere. 
So, yes, I love my bike and plan to hang on to 'em as long as I can.  | |

Posted: 10/9/2009 9:02:49 AM | | lets see im over 45 68 to be exact and have been riding bikes since nine 36 indian was the first, love the freedom, the air, the scenery, freedom, not worried where to park,dont have to wait for the kids to get in,owned harleys never will again made in china gas milage is great,Im not in love with it , its cold, fast,furious,always satisfies me go where and when i want.Now the reason im this way is i dont waste my money on golf,sports on or off tv,drugs booze ladies of the night etc.and last but not least she doesnt complain | |

I wouldn't get on the back of one if someone paid me! Seriously, I'm not looking for a subdural hematoma anytime in the near future. Where do you see "clumps" of Harleys? Outside of bars, of course. Some weekends, the roads are filled with Bikers, even though they are only "week-end Bikers" and it is wonderful for the economies of the bars and restaurants with the "Bikers Welcomed Here" banners, but it does have its'drawbacks. And it 's sad, some of those guys married their pregnant highschool girlfriends, and never got to experience young adulthood . Some of them had 3 kids before the age 22, so is it any wonder? For example, you meet someone in pretty good shape, age 50-55 (you think!!!!) and then they tell you, well, my oldest son is 43, then my girl is 41 and the baby is 39. LOL
I don't know about other women but the sight of men posing with their bikes,cars, campers (local joke) really does not tell me anything about them, other than they own this particular object. | |

SOME PEOPLE STILL JUST DON'T GET IT!! THEY MUST BE LIVING UNDER ROCKS!!
Don't forget those "clumps" of Harleys (and bikes of all brands) sitting at the airport, waiting to escort a young Hero home, or off to war with our prayers and blessings, or sitting outside a funeral home while the riders stand in a flag line to honor a fallen Hero...and those big groups you see on the road on weekends? Most ride everyday, anyday...the weekends are when we ride in groups for Abused Children, Breast Cancer Awareness, our Troops, Vets, and POW-MIAs,...just about any cause thay might benefit from the attention that our lousd noisy, obnoxious bikes might draw, and from $10 to $25 fee/donation that we pay to ride for those charities!
I live in rural PA also, and the biggest "danger" to us is YOU...the person in the car, on the cell phone, who "never saw us", doesn't know the motor code and law well enough to know the we, on a motorcycle, have as much right to an entire lane of road as a 18-wheeler, and makes that deadly left turn right in front of us. Hence the saying "beware of left-turning cages", and hence the loud pipes...since you "don't see us", maybe you'll hear us, and grant us the rights of the road that we are entitled to! | |

My ex would not allow me to purcase a bike so when I was able to, I did, and learned to ride.I love riding and wanted to ride independently and am not your sterotypical biker chick. Enjoy whatever it is in life at over 45 when you have fewer responsibilities. | |

I am now 51 and have been riding for about 11 years. I cannot imagine giving it up. Why? .....for me.......The ride is the reason...........
When you ride a motorcycle, the scenery does not pass by you. You are a part of the scenery.
Riding is a life long learning experience. Skills are always tested and constantly growing. I am still improving. What a great feeling to become more accomplished.
Riding is very serious. Mistakes and carelessness have real consequences. I take responsibility for my safety and for those I share the road.
Your concentration is focused on the task of riding. Other distractions fade away and you become a real traveler.
It's the closest thing to downhill skiing that I have done in the summer. I love to carve!
Rural PA is awesome riding! I love to spend the day riding down there, riding the excellent back roads and back. It's about a 500 mile day and worth every inch!
A day on a bike always brings surprises, challenges, discomfort, delight and excitement.
Our world today is so sanitized, regulated, complicated.................limited. Riding a motorcycle is not. | |

A memory from last holidays...hundreds of riders/passengers holding/carrying stuffed animals and toys on the way to drop off at the Salvation Army. Bet the average driver in the area didn't even know where the Salvation Army was until that day.  | |

Very fun cruising around at 100 mph+ on country roads. Taking women out for safe rides was fun also.
It was a turn on how there fingers always seem to slip below my belt line when they were on the back of the bike holding on to me.
I got out of the street bike scene after riding my bike back to Calif. There just to dangerous out here.
Now taking a overpowered motocross bike on a single track trail, Catching air and Snaking through the pine pine trees in a Forest is a real testosterone builder.
Something Ive done for 37 yrs now. Its part of my livelihood.
I didn't know so many guys posted with there bikes.
Maybe posting a pic of me riding a wheelie up a vertical hill climb would help me get a date. laugh: | |

It consists of a shift lever mounted to the left side of the tank and a clutch operated by the left foot.
Dangerous? Yup, if the bike starts to lean to the left, the rider has to take his foot off the clutch to prevent it falling. If the bike is in gear he is underway whether he likes it or not.  Can be very embarrassing at a stop sign.
many many years back I had a Military surplus HD with foot clutch and hand shift. Been there and done that. Still alive to tell the tale. | |
