| Why Are Over 45 Men In Love With Motorcycles?
Posted: 10/28/2009 4:54:35 PM | What's the difference, women and horses or men and bikes...as far as the women to suggest that men think they are sexy because they ride a motorcycle... I think I sense some penis envy ladies...
It's a way of life for some, its no different than a mans love of many things; cars, planes,dogs and yes horses....
Most men over 45 have more time to ride now and as some have suggested ;can now afford to, because their children are grown, it's great way to bond with your son or daughter if they like to ride. Women say they don't want a couch potato, any guy I know that rides, rides quite often and most are involved in charity fund raisers.
It's a very large community out there full of bikers, men and women....
I have found the ladies that say they don't like motorcycles are the ones that need their make-up applied every 10 minutes, are scared to get their hair messed up and you can't hide in leathers...every ounce is visible.... | |

Nope, no penis envy here, I prefer to think with what's in my head and not what's between my legs. I have no problem with being a woman and have no desire to be a man.
My reason for not liking bikes has nothing to do with make-up, hair or leathers. In fact, I rarely wear makeup and often go for weeks at a time without it; I have long hair which is usually straight and rarely styled so nothing much to mess up there, certainly nothing that can't be fixed with a quick brushing or my fingers. As for wearing leathers I have nothing to hide, since I'm not overweight and don't have too many extra ounces to be concerned about. Unlike many of the people who choose to wear leathers although they would quite likely look better wearing something a little more flattering.
I just don't like bikes because I like quiet. Bikes are almost always obnoxiously noisy, and the unnecessary noise is just rude, inconsiderate , disrespectful to others. A quiet bike would be fine, but apparently quiet bikes don't quite satisfy the crowd purchasing the noisy penis extensions. | |

I have never understood why someone would want to sit in traffic in Phoenix on a hot bike. And if you do live past your ride through town and get up north, you have to deal with the crazy lifted truck pulling a trailer people coming down I-17 at the end of the weekend. So too many guys are reading the advice on this site that says to play up to what women ask for in the profiles, and thus Motorcycles! Personnaly I think that a guy that has two dirt bikes could have way more fun with a date. The female equivalent is either scuba diving or dancing, not sure which | |

Just about all brands, all styles; sport, standard, dual purpose, cruiser..and enjoyed them all.
Why? Because I like to ride motorcycles. I liked it so much, I spent 17 years riding them for work. Yeah, I was the guy who handed out tickets..but I got to ride and got paid for it..best damn job I ever had in my life. I take that back, I do hate one brand I rode..yes, I hate Moto Guzzi's..worst damn bike ever made for a cop..hated that thing..hated it..hated it hated it..
What I don't get..is the weekend dress up with all the doodads and pins and whatevers..and ride a couple of miles to a bar and act like you just did an IronButt...I can't figure that out. I've done an IB..not as easy as it seems. And I can't figure out this trailering thing..towed behind an expensive motor home. Never did that, unless it was the dirt bikes, and then it was behind my pickup..the bikes weren't street legal anyway. I guess riding to the destination is out of the question?
Nope, no penis envy here. Riding doesn't do a thing for my penis..well..made it disappear once on a long trip..damn seat, I was numb from the waist down..first stop I could make, after realizing my manhood was..gone..I stopped at an auto parts store..got two sheep skin wash mittens..tore them apart and made a comfy seat cushion out of them..whew..glad to have you back boys..missed ya!
There is nothing like viewing this beautiful country from a bike..really nice. Blue Ridge Parkway..many similar areas, just so nice to ride and enjoy. | |

I absolutely love motorcyles; even hope to have one myself, one day.
And while it's not a "pre-requisite" for the man I eventually hook-up with, there certainly will be lots of bonus points if he has a motorcycle.
As far as age, I'd much rather be with an older, active man who loves life than with someone my age or younger who thinks life is what is happening on the t.v. screen.
Oh, and regarding shoes - just to argue a generalization - I currently have 7 pairs of shoes, which is a relatively small amount for women. I know men who have far more pairs than that. | |

I agree, that most of them are probably at a point in their lives where they have the time, the money, and the freedom to ride. I admit it, I will read a profile sooner if there is a bike in the picture, because it tells me that he knows how to enjoy life. And yeah, it is sexy, I won't lie. But it is not the whole package. He better have a good head on his shoulders too.
You can tell a true biker. Does he ride only in fair weather to pick up a date, or does he ride it to work with a 70% chance of rain?
I love to ride myself, though I don't care to be on the back. Before I was married, I rode often. My ex gave up his bike because I have kids, and he would not let me ride street bikes. So at least for this girl, the shoe is on the other foot. He would not share my joy, among other things, so I left.

Nortons have yet to be revived, many can be seen at the rallys though. But it's like sitting on an ironing board with a motor underneath it.
Ducs..F you can find a dealership, or if you have the knowledge to care for their valve train, not a bad bike. They just don't make "standards" anymore..either a cruiser or crotch rocket nowadays. I like all the doodads worn by the weekend warriors..and when they sell their bikes, five years old advertised with less then six thousand miles on it..hell I put that much on in six months..LOL

Thanks to the poster that commented it is shows we enjoy life... how true.
After being a married, go straight home from work Dad, raising a family and the ex deciding she didn't want to be married any longer (OK, I was traded-in for a model that could be domineered) I decided to simplify my life and do what I enjoyed again. I am NOT a "biker", I'm a guy that enjoys riding motorcycles. And yes I have more time now then I've had for a long time.
For those that don't care for motorcycles, OK, I'm not offended, but I am mildy curious why you think it matters to me that you dis-like them and why you feel you have to tell me. There are plenty of other profiles to consider.
I can understand telling someone "You smoke, No Thanks". But for someone to email me, telling me I have a great profile, but because I enjoy motorcycles, forget it...
