| Are there some women that... Posted: 4/29/2009 10:09:40 PM | I wanted long hair as a teenager, tried to let it grow, but it always just grew out to the sides. Nothing like red hair growing out to the sides - I looked like Bozo the clown!!
I was already balding in my late teens, by my mid twenties I was sporting that "landing strip" down the middle with the hair just on the sides and back. I was even in the Navy, and they shaved it in boot camp, but I'd let it grow back. I just recall seeing my reflection in this angled overhead mirror at blockbuster video one day and thinking "jeez, I look like I'm old!!"
Then I saw the movie "12 Monkeys" and for some reason or other, that movie and Bruce Willis's "look" inspired me to shave it all off. I've been doing that ever since. Nobody told me to , and I've been doing so ever since. I really think it took like 10 yrs off me.
And yes it's definitely true about testosterone and c_ck size. I mean I was already balding in my teens.
So far, no complaints - just a wake of broken hearts. Lots of "can we give it another try-s?" - ugh!!
Thanks for the genes grandpa!! (the only one who was bald)

It really depends on his personally. It can be hot.
But I feel a guy cutting his hair is a sin. I love love love guys with long dark hair. Something about it is a turn on to me.

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 5/31/2009 5:24:41 AM | I posted this comment in another forum in regard to male-pattern baldness ...
Here's my take as a male, and I could be way off base with the ladies, so take it for what it's worth.
To me, when I see a man with male-pattern baldness who has shaved his head to go completely bald, I see a man ashamed of his looks. It's as if he's hiding something, if that makes sense. By shaving his remaining hair, it's as if he's hiding the fact that he's naturally balding. To keep up this appearance, a man has to continually shave so that the male-pattern baldness doesn't peak through. I HATE shaving! All that effort just to maintain something you aren't.
When I see a comb-over, which is the ugliest thing in the world -- and doesn't fool a soul into believing this man has a full head of hair -- I also see a man trying to hide something. I used to see this guy on the bus in the morning who had the classic Grade-A comb-over, so I used to sit and stare at it from the back. I used to think how much effort it must be to keep one side of your hair very long, and the other side short. How do you describe this to your barber when you're asked, "What kind of cut today for you?"
The best looking men (and I'm not attracted to a man's face like a heterosexual woman is, so keep that in mind) are those who wear their male-pattern baldness with pride and let it grow long. Think David Crosby. Even better, is if the dude grows a big massive beard. Think Santa Claus. If more men with male-pattern baldness started wearing their natural hair with pride and letting it grow, I think the stigma of balding would disappear in a heartbeat.
You can do some cool things with the male-pattern baldness, too. You just have to use your imagination. For instance, I used to see this one guy around town who grew his into dreadlocks and put it up into a ponytail. This, he accompanied with a big goatee and connecting mustache. It looked so cool, I actually wanted to have male-pattern baldness so that I could do that.
Or I've seen the long male-pattern baldness hair with a LONG beard, and I thought how at peace and self-assured he came across. I was like, yeah, that's cool, man.
So if you have male-pattern baldness, have fun with it and be creative -- but let it grow and wear it with pride!

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 5/31/2009 5:45:48 AM | I find bald heads completely unappealing.
I hate to say it, but whenever I see some guy whose shaved his head because he's clearly going bald (and he thinks we won't notice it with it shaved) my first thought is that he's a chemo patient. I swear, everytime I see a bald shiny head on a young man, I immediately think he's bald due to chemo.
It's just completely unappealing to me. I'll take a full sexy head of hair every SINGLE time.

To each their own, I guess. But, some things are completely unnecessary. Chemo patient? OMG. I'd hate to see what you think of a bald woman, who's actually going through chemo for cancer.
Oh, well. | |

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 5/31/2009 7:25:40 AM | I recently shaved my head and it was for a number of reasons.
1. I think it looks better than a really thin, not quite bald head, actually it is fairly thick on the sides. Also better than the comb-over. Now they are the once trying to fool people!
2. Ya think the barber shop is going to give me a discount. When I stopped going to the barbers they were spending less than half the time and effort cutting my hair than the guy with a full head of hair. Out of principle why should I pay the same price.
3. Easy to maintain and actually much cleaner.
4. I would say savings, but the money I save on shampoo I probably spend on extra shaving cream.
I respect your feeling about it being unappealing to you, but I reject your belief that we shave our heads thinking you won't notice we are going bald!

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 5/31/2009 1:12:27 PM | One big message I'm getting from this thread is that women prefer totally bald guys to men who sport their male-pattern baldness.
As my previous thread sort of alluded to, I think it's partially the man's fault for this. Just having a short male-pattern baldness hairdo, with nothing else, is sort of boring. But for those guys who do something creative with it, it can look totally cool.
I do agree, though, that if you're just going to have the the male-pattern baldness, keep it trimmed short for best results. But at least keep some of the hair.

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 5/31/2009 1:17:42 PM | Just to clarify my last remarks:
If you're going to just have the male-pattern baldness, with nothing else, and not grow it out long or accompany it with a big beard or other creative hairdos, then yeah, just keep it cut shorter (i.e., a slight buzz cut), rather than shave it all off.

| Are there some women that PREFER bald guys over guys with hair? Posted: 6/25/2009 12:41:37 AM | | Bald is no big deal and sometimes hot. What's not hot is trying to compensate with growing out what hair remains, so they've got a combover, or a donut around their head lol. That just looks funny. Or when it's real thin or balding but they're growing the rest out. Looks wierd. if it's going bald keep it short or maybe just shave it, it'll look way better, and you'll be hot again. | |
