| Gorgefest- Camping - Red River Gorge Ky- Oct-2-3-4 Posted: 6/19/2009 9:28:00 AM | | Can't wait to wear my Gorgefest shirt! I traveled down that way this week and it was beautiful! The serenity and beauty of the Daniel Boone National Forest is hard to beat for campers. Remember to bring plenty of adult beverages (it's a long drive to a carryout). | |

( if you have a problem with using an out house.there is a rest area off the exit. with clean restrooms. ) | |

| Gorgefest- Camping - Red River Gorge Ky- Oct-2-3-4 Posted: 7/12/2009 5:19:10 AM | Ok I am going to try this way camping. Not down the street from my house for a shower but I am ready to tackle this one. Are there really bears there?????? | Gorgefest- Camping - Red River Gorge Ky- Oct-2-3-4 Posted: 7/12/2009 6:30:20 AM | Sharon....There are Black bears in lots of remote areas. The Black bear is a scavenger and doesn't kill for food. The important thing to know is if you pose no threat to them they will pose no threat to you. Keep all food and trash locked inside your vehicle. I would consider myself lucky if I get to see one. | |

| Gorgefest- Camping - Red River Gorge Ky- Oct-2-3-4 Posted: 7/12/2009 9:06:24 AM | | When I lived in NJ there for alittle bit, we had black bears in our back yard, they scare me to death, but know to keep things locked up, more afraid of no showers than the bears lol. | |
