| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 10:54:13 AM | Nice art,but they are looked at negatively by most people, especially on women. The older you get the more ridiculous they look.Sorry, but that seems to be the consensus of many. | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 11:54:34 AM | | The OP said in that other thread that even her nips are tatted. Yuck! Sorry if i seem judgmental. That says a lot to me about this persons mind set. She says that when men find out about her tats they run. With that statement in that other thread that pretty well explains why they run. Just being honest' Not trying to be mean or judgmental. But that statement screams "Freak" They think she is a weirdo freak. Not being judgmental. Just honest. | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 12:18:28 PM | Since when is preference judgemental? sorry but it isn't.
We live in a society of victims that if you dont like whatever they do or say you are judging them. Sorry but you asked what we think; if you only want people to agree with you and you are not secure enough to deal with those that don't, then don't post.
OP you can tat the bottom of your feet, the dogs paws, your auntie M's left buttocks for all I care; but for me, tats on a girl are a fad and it shows nothing to me other than someone trying to gain attention. It's not attractive in the least. I dont like women that wear a lot of makeup either; it's a turn off.
Again, you do your thing; it's cool; but for some men it's a huge turn off.
If you only want peoples opinions that agree with you, then dont post.

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 12:27:45 PM | To hell with what others think, sometimes, people need to take a look into their own closet before they judge others. Just because you got tats doesn't make you inhuman/bad person, just more colorful and beautiful. I have a tat which I got when my youngest was born, so my taz is 21 years old. I'm proud of it, been with me longer than any relationship I've ever had. He's my buddy thru and thru LOL And besides, people get tats on them as they represent a part of themselves or a life's journey or in memory of a loved one. | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 12:47:05 PM | | Eddie2704 & Mthomjmark, you guys are sadly still missing the point and apparently only reading what you want to read. Everyone can agree to disagree. No one is saying that your preference is judgmental. What is judgemental is that you guys take it a step further and want to falsely characterize people because of some ink on their skin without knowing the person. So you don't like it that fine but don't judge others for it or assume you know something about them because of it. You have no idea what kind person they are, just like we don't know what kind of person you guys can be. They are many people in respected fields of employment (e.g. CEOs, lawyers, surgeons, etc.) who have tatts and I'm sure they don't all have low self-esteem or drama issues. | |

Actually, someone did. The phrase "closed minded" was used. Incorrectly, as usual.
Just because you got tats doesn't make you inhuman/bad person, just more colorful and beautiful.
To some. As these topics always show, many of us consider it a significant aesthetic downgrade; something like slapping one of those kid-peeing-on-Ford-logo stickers on a friggin' Picasso.

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 1:51:14 PM | | Hey Nikki; I also support Tattoo's and, yes some people seem to look at you like you have a disease or something. But I found most of those type of people to be envious and a bit jealous of what we are sporting, as they were never allowed to have tattoo's. Their mama's probably told them they could never get a tattoo, and they listened. LOL I was the one to go against the grain and be my own person. I have more work to be done myself, even at 43yrs old. But right now I'm looking for love. | |

You've got to be kidding. 43 and still embracing such a juvenile idea of independence? Honestly, I don't think I've seen that mentality in anyone over 14. Getting covered in ink isn't being your own person--it's just joining a subculture. Joining. Not rebelling against. Go ahead and get tattoos if you want, but you aren't justified in lashing out like that when people don't like what they see.

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 2:12:24 PM | I refuse to accept the thinking that states my cute little ladbug on my left ankle makes me:
a head case a lunatic a person with low self-esteem an attention seeker a person with boderline personality disorder a drug user a tramp a socially unacceptable person
Had a client on my massage table some years ago. Somehow, we got on the subject of tattoos. She went on and on about how weird people who have them are and a bunch of other very judgemental, derogatory statements. I let her ramble, then quietly said, "I have a tattoo..." she said, "oh....." and the room got very quiet. Good lesson in watching what you say, I think. Then again, I've had to deal with that ignorant segment of the public who think all massage therapists are prostitutes or gay. You'd think in the 21st century people would be a little more educated.

You need to stay in your own little world and make up all the little names you want.
I do know one thing ...You would not have the BALLS to disrespect me and talk this sh*t to my face .

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 2:56:16 PM | it's my body i really don't care how others view my tatts.
like anything, if people want to judge me by superficial standards, that's their journey. if I'm on a date and he is not attracted to me because of my ink I put him in my "Superficial" category.
stereotypes are for borgs who do not want to engage their brain with life and who fear anyone who choose to differ with their worldview.
as for men in particular not appreciating a woman's choice to ink, well, this is just another double standard that places women in the position of being objectified and on this earth to please men's visual/fantasy needs.
sounds like your ink is a great filter to determine which me you do not want to cultivate anything further with. Though from personal experience I have yet to meet a man who was actually turned off; the one who laughingly said I looked like I had been to prison became my lover for a time and is now my best friend. He is also now designing a very large piece of ink for his upper back.
my body is my human suit It IS NOT WHO I AM, and I choose to decorate it with ink rather than jewelery or plastic surgery. to each their own.
many people are surprised I have any (i think i'm at 10) because i do not dress to show them. At work I will dress to minimize or cover depending on the workplace policy.

Heh, an internet tough guy. That post is going to look great on your profile. For a middle aged man, your level of maturity is shockingly low, you know? Antiseriousism is something you should look into--you're taking this whole internet thing much too seriously.

I can't can't speak for the other guy. I will only speak for myself. First off will not argue with anyone. I've lived 47 years. In that 47 years i have seen a lot. I've been places and seen things that most never see in there life time. So i have plenty of life experience in what i say. People make excuses for the things they do. They say they do this for this reason and that for that reason. But there never really truthful with themselves or anyone else. But down deep inside there is something stirring that's driving that person to do the things they do. Feelings of inadequacy. Especially in women drive them to do some of the things they do. Tit tats' Especially the nips. Something is wrong when someone does these things. It's a form of body mutilation. It's a step above cutting with a lot of people. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying that everyone who gets tats is mutilating. But there are certain things when you tat that falls under mutilating. Like the guy who has "Mother" tatted on the head of his penis. Something is wrong there. Same with a woman when she tats her nips. No matter what she puts on them. To a lot of guys they think something is wrong. They run. Again' Not trying to be judgmental or mean. Just telling the truth.

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/25/2009 10:28:04 PM | | Tattoos are very trendy these days, but I do think there maybe some people in 10 years that could possibly regret getting a lil carried away with them...I don't have any currently, but have always said i may get one on my ankle someday...something small...but that's about it for me ....It is your body and your decision...but I'm not that into tatoos.... I like good healthy skin...it can't be good for your skin to inject permanent ink into it... | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 4/30/2009 4:52:07 PM | hi taylOrd~
the point is that they mean something to me~ do you cut your hair, buy clothes or a car etc to show them off to others? and if you do, is that the sole reason?
First nation peoples have used tattoos and scarification as ways to remind themselves of their connection to the rest of the universe; the connection of all life~ it is not the only way, it is a way. My choosing tattoos were/are/will be for similar reasons, visual affirmations if you will.
Why this particular way~ because I think they are a beautiful body art form.
I also think some forms of earrings are beautiful~ though I chose 10 years ago to stop wearing them. One's that catch my eye at op shops decorate my garden. And gifts of necklaces are sun catchers in my windows (my family and friends know that this is what they will be used for when given).
I am more than my body~ this is a suit I wear during my human experience.
there is a saying that I have seen in most studios I have been to "the difference between those that have ink, and those who don't, is that the one's who do do not care if you don't"

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 5/1/2009 4:16:21 AM | | darling , the reason peple judge us that are of the tatooed clan is becuase orignally it was sailors and bikers and people of that ilk that got tattooed , therfor when people see a beautiful woman with tatoos the scared you might turn out to be a thug .. I have found most people curious about my tatoos , they ask why i got them and where and i tell them , and nine times out of ten . they are very interested ... you and i both choice to decorate the body god gave us and hey he gave us FREE WILL. ... | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 5/1/2009 4:59:33 AM | I love body art .......who gives a ishht what other people think. ! I have many tats and plan on getting many more. Whats wrong with using your body as an art canvas? Many other women are using their body for much worse things ;) I think the "labels" that some people have given tatted folks ...is just plain funny! But ya know what.... if you were NOT tatted up they would just judge you for something else. Live life for YOU :D | |

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 5/1/2009 5:23:37 AM | My question is what is the deal with people being so negative when it comes to woman and tattoos?
People are free to do what they want with their body, but it doesn't mean I have to find it attractive or meaningful.
If someone is saying something negative about tattoos it is probably because they don't like them.
|
| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 5/1/2009 9:48:38 AM |
So far i have never met not one woman that can hide them.
i have 5 tattoos, which i disclose on my page in case guys aren't into them (which is fine by me), but all 5 of mine can be and are often covered. they are all on my back and are only seen when i want them to be seen... ex. halloween after my last 1's were done, my outfit showed off 2 of them.
it is a personal preference to like or dislike them. my ex had 13 but he didn't like the idea of a woman having a lot. so i guess it depends on the guy. i know i wouldn't date a guy who's all tatted up, sleeves and legs and everything covered. i don't find that attractive, just like i wouldn't get all those tattoos. mine can stay covered and that's how i like it.

| GIRLS AND TATTOOS Posted: 5/1/2009 11:44:38 AM | What is so hard to understand? By having so many, you are limiting the type of man who is OK with your tattoos. Most men don't mind 1 or 2 in nondescript places on a woman... not a whole art gallery for eyes to see. It will be unsightly in 15 years, not to mention it's hard to bring a girl covered with tats to public places and events which are "classy" and not NASCAR related. Church? Family functions?? Come on now.
Is that hard to envision?? It's not too feminine nor classy in a lot of people's opinion. I would not be into 40 tats on a women whatsoever. It's a sign of mental problems in my opinion and anybody who disagrees is fooling themselves or delusional.
