| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/12/2009 6:05:59 PM | TAG ... you're it Warose (LA) I tried to get an email to you several times. You're on my favs, and i've checked my mail settings - they include the world so there's no reason you can't email me!
I just realized why I didn't sign up for the campout, I have a previous commitment, but I sooooooooooooo wanna go camping instead. Have to think of a reason that nobody would question or make me feel guilty for opting out. It's a banquet for a team I played on this past season
"You know you're a redneck when: You light a match in the bathroom and your house explodes right off its wheels." As they say "don't try this at home or out camping".

You might be a redneck.....if You think "loading the dishwasher" means getting your wife drunk.
You might be a redneck.....if the most commonly heard phrase at your family reunion is "What the hell are you looking at, Shithead?"

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/12/2009 11:57:58 PM | Hey Everyone,
Been feeling the itch for some camping for quite some time now, however no one I know ever wants or is able to go. Then I seen this event. I have NEVER been to the Island so I was wondering if this is some place that would be quite easy to get to from the mainland? Is there anything in particular that I should or not bring?
Thanks,
Justin | |

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/13/2009 2:37:34 AM | Shorty...I frequent the island as often as I can...and live in Bear Creek (Surrey for those that want to tell a joke... maybe Surrey girls classify as Red Necks too? ) I see that you are in North Van so you can very easily hope on the ferry to Nanaimo, Departure Bay.... you can either walk on and ask someone to pick you up at ferry terminal as there are many POF'ers willing to help...or you can drive your car on...last month it cost me about $115.00 round trip...so car pooling is another great idea..there are some mainlanders signed up for this event... just go and take a look at the sign up sheet.
Coombs is about an hour away from the ferry terminal...depending on how you drive! lmao And will be easy enough to find...I've heard rumours about a said restaurant with goats on it... that apparently is one of the landmarks! Ummm How Red Neck is that Now! Maybe we need to have a a special tour & tribute to the "Lifestyles of the Red Neck Poor & But A$$ Ugly"
I'm walking on the ferry and hoping that one of my many wonderful island friends can do a quick detour and roll up to me... willing to jump and roll in if necessary... I think that's a red neck thing to do.??.. OR...I could try and hop through the windows like Bo & Luke Duke do...but me thinks they look way better at doing it then I would! Then again... I'm sure my cousin Daisey Duke would pull up in her "Jeep" and let me hop in "lady like"
10 more sleeps...not including tonights as its 2:35am... must go to bed... This Red Neck Gal needs a little beauty rest...at least till the little animal wakes up and says... "Mornin Andie.. Can I have my Cheerios Now?"

Thanks Campfire, a great solution but the rest is NOTB
I'm bringing my camera for the scavenger hunt, and also stuff to make SMORES which I've never tried in my entire life of camping! Can you beleive that??? Sheeesh!
Now the debate as to what refreshments I want to indulge in .... hmmmmm OH MY I need a cooler.....back to scrounging up things to borrow (that dam ex better be enjoying the tent, cooler, camp chairs, propane stove, boat, camper, etc.)

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/14/2009 12:34:14 PM | Is anyone going (THE REAL THING) ??? Let me know, because I'd love to go even if I don't catch anything (YES I do bait my own hook & clean my own fish - NOT YOURS ... unless of course you're doing the cooking!). That reminds me, I need to renew my license! Hmmm ... do I also need a license to troll the POF camp? Is it "catch 'n release" or do I get to keep at least one if it's over ..... kg & not tagged?
I think the weather will be fantastic for the campout

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/14/2009 5:48:54 PM | I am going by the campground this weekend so I will double check with them that the trout fishing is available at this time of year. It is a privately stocked lake so no need for a fishing license. Just need to bring your own rods etc.
BTW you rednecks.... there will be a trophy for best redneck campsite!

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/14/2009 5:56:20 PM | ^^^ PTWR
While you are there would you please inquire as to what kind of lures or bait work for those trout. Flies, worms, spinners, spoons, etc.
There is little point in bringing a huge assortment of tackle if the fish strike on only one kind of lure.
Thank you. | |

There is little point in bringing a huge assortment of tackle if the fish strike on only one kind of lure. LMAO that's the whole idea of fishin, you try to find out what they're HUNGRY for and where they're HIDIN, don'tcha no nottin! Don't be a cheatin fishieman...giv'em a chance B.E.

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/14/2009 7:44:22 PM | Red Neck Trophy!!! Now we are talking! haha Perhaps we should figure out how we are going to judge the campsites? Maybe Nominate some people Friday night to do the judging... And it should also be noted...as we are all Red Necks... Judges can be bribed with beer, bear, bare skin, or my cousin Daisey! ... And not necessarily in that order! Had to throw that in there as it seems she's gon M.I.A.
I think she's beating all the men off with a a stick and forgot to pull her fishing rod out of the water! lol Perhaps you fishing: 'ies should find out what Daisey uses for bait... she did after all be coverted to a flames fan & married Jesus...on the last campout... Wonder who she's gonna get married to this trip? haha... or is she going to commit the ultimate sin and break one of the ten commandments... Daisey... I suggest you get your @ss in here and speak up now...or forever hold your peace!

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/14/2009 8:33:24 PM | So what kind of bait will you nibble on? Fillet-and-release!!
If I tell ya, I'll have ta kill ya & then fillet you! LOL That would be too easy just to tell you, geez ... HINT: drk choc! I'm bringing stuff to create my own version of smores so if you behave I'll even give you a nibble B.E. lmao

| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/15/2009 8:20:00 AM | Perfect fishing hole for Plenty of Fishers!
Bring rod without bait (quite common on here I believe!)
You won't waste time reeling in the illegal ones and you can fish and fish to heart's content without fear of catching anything!
EDIT: Or anyone! | |
|
| VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPING #2!!! MAY 22-24, 2009 Posted: 5/15/2009 9:23:47 AM | NO BAIT = NO BITE!!! Simple as that, a ROD without BAIT is JUST a ROD and that can be found anywhere, anytime Debra - a perfect hole? There is no such thing is there, except in golf!
I agree Phat, that's a FREAKIN EXPENSIVE FISH .... I may be blonde, but NOT STUPID HOLY are the trout GOLD or do they include mounting as well .... and B.E. don't even comment on that!!!
Bring on the chocolate, and I'll just "pretend fish" with my "pretend bait" and pretend I'm fishing for the "big one".
