THIS WAS A MOVIE BASED ON TRUE LOVE THAT DID NOT GO IN HER FAVOR IN THE END OF THE MOVIE...
Sometimes you lose, and sometimes YOU WIN...

Another good one for the guys is frequency with dennis quaid. I was told men were tearing up in the theatre!

| Tear Jerker Movies Posted: 4/29/2009 12:18:13 AM | La Vita e Bella ("Life is Beautiful") is just fine in dubbed version, I watched it as part of a film studies course I took last year. For those wondering: It's about a family that gets taken away to a Nazi camp, and all the while the father is trying to shelter his son from the death and destruction that surrounds their every waking moment. Despite his realization that he may not make it out alive, the father jokes and plays games with his son the whole time, reassuring him that everything is fine. It is very bitter sweet.
If you want something brand new, I'd go with Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Saw it when it came out, and let's just say the ending of the movie made me feel as though the theater was gettin a bit dusty... :P

(Mortified me...OMG.) I cry at the silliest stuff, no need to bring out the heavy artillery, 50 First Dates works for me.

BlueNun, I found the novel much better, too.
By the way, 2 weeks ago I actually saw the world premiere PLAY of the Kite Runner. It opened in San Jose, California, and one of my college buddies (and former co-actor) was actually in the ensemble (as an understudy to Soraya). I was so proud of her and the play turned out to be terrific. You would have loved it too I'm sure :)

| Tear Jerker Movies Posted: 5/3/2009 12:18:31 PM | This girl isn't usually into chick flicks, but my sister talked me into "The Notebook" & I found myself utterly captivated & bawling. A few not mentioned so that I would share with a guy: Big Fish Life as a House Ladder 49 A Life Less Ordinary | |

Also, the fact that after the 1st one, I saw the next 2. OMG, I've got a lump in my throat....I'm misting up now...

True Romance :)
Good choice.
I would go for "August Underground's Mordum". Hey, it's romantic, sort of, and you didn't specify what sort of tears you wanted to jerk.
I dislike the tearjerkers and so called "chick flicks".

| Tear Jerker Movies Posted: 6/17/2009 11:05:23 AM | I can't say it's a tear jerker, but Bed of Roses is an awesome romance.
Chasing Amy is also a really good date movie, but not suggested for anyone uncomfortable about 'alternate sexual choices'.

| Tear Jerker Movies Posted: 6/17/2009 2:03:05 PM | Oh, God--yeah, Terms of Endearment. Watched my brother die of cancer, and watching Debra Winger's character go that way strikes a little too close to home.
I'm sure My Sister's Keeper will be in the same vein.
Titanic of course.
Pearl Harbor
Gladiator (as tough as it is, it's a wonderful story of love)
Braveheart (same deal)
The Notebook
