The main movie that if you want to see your partner get emotional is definitely It's a wonderful life.If you are not crying at the end of that movie you do not have a heart or if you do it's a heart of stone.

I just don't get the whole thing about The Notebook....................I found it more annoying than anything else.

Favourite tearjerkers are:

City of Angels
Nights in Rodanthe (Diane Lane/Richard Gere)
Steel Magnolias

I always cry when I watch Gettysburg, White Christmas (the scene where they all surprise the General), A League of Their Own and Ladder 49. The first and last two are great flicks for getting guys to cry ;)

Yessss definately..........Titanic (especially the part when the mother, locked down in the carriage class & realising they were going down & there was no way out & was singing her children to sleep. I defy any parent not to cry at that part) The note book, Braveheart & Ghost

But also a few not mentioned..........Just like Heaven, pretty woman & In persuit of Happyness (Will Smith & his son Jaydon, its also based on a real story)

I'll cry at most things.

Basically every Disney film has me in tears at some point.
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas makes me cry as well.

How about real-life drama? These are movies which were produced on its own where the characters wished they were not there.

A Walk to Remember, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, Forrest Gump ......and for a different type of pain (sickeningly bad movies) I include High School Musical, Dukes of Hazzard, Sex and the City, and most of the Saw series......dull, repetitive, and predictable. *yawn*

I'd forgotten Million Dollar Baby. I didn't expect it to end that way and cried for a while over that one. Also Man on Fire, when he trades himself for the little girl... You gotta love sappy movies.

There are some good movies mentioned here, but for romance and tears one of my favorites is "Always".

Other movies that choke me up are:

"The Fisher King"
"My Life"
"Stranger than Fiction"

I cry easily, any touching moment has me welling up. I've been known to cry over TV commercials, lol. I take the resulting teasing in stride; exhibiting a wonderful display of maturity combined with a well developed sense of humour. It's fair territory or futile to b!tch about at any rate.

Sometimes when we're at a movie, I'll notice both my sweetie and my daughter hanging out of their seats to lean over to check if a scene has 'got me'. I say if I am quietly snerffling into my popcorn it ought not count for ridicule because you had to actually LOOK to tell I was crying.

Later on, showing wholly unsupportive attitudes, my daughter and my sweetie will take great delight in describing a particular scene in a movie...
"Do you remember when the mother and the daughter looked at the scrapbook together?" One will begin.
"And the daughter said not to worry she was dying" the other will continue the tag team.

I'll bravely fight them off, but eventually they will be rewarded.
