Personally I prefer ladies around my own age group...but open as age is just that a number
but for some reason most of the mail I get are from those in the 25-28 age group.
but I must say that the level of maturity of some of the 18-20yo at the forums astounds me... | |

It is not the age, it is the mind, and since mind is "usually" improving by age, this is what gives the explanation why men/women sometimes prefer an older person.

I think it has more to do with young guys not realizing what lurks behind the hair dye , makeup, photoshopping etc.. There will never be laws against it but I find it unseemly and I have no idea why an old woman would behave in such an undignified way.
Don't you agree that everyone should have their picture in their profile? That sure would avoid lotsa confusion, right? (I can almost hear a photoshop program being started up somewhere in the U.S. right about now...)

Posted: 6/4/2005 11:23:59 AM | Hmm.. it's been mentioned a lot that older men are going after younger women rather than older women. (And subsequently the younger men are going after the older women). I was very surprised when it began happening to me, a lot of younger men asking me out. At first I felt there was something wrong. I eventually got used to it. Now I don't even blink when it happens.
I think older men might not always want to date older women because going out with a younger woman, they feel younger (as long as they avoid all mirrors and forget they’re not young, strong, and attractive anymore, nor capable of coming as much and as quickly as a lion ) I've seen older men so lacking in personality, and so unappealing that I wouldn't go out with them if I were paid heftily for it, and yet some younger woman will undoubtedly be going out with them. (I’m going to guess it’s for the money, rather than say that younger women lack good taste).
Anyhow, I wonder what the actual statistics say about all this? | |

It is all in where u r in ur life and what it is you need. I do have to say more often then not though that men my age are searching for women younger that can be eye candy. That I believe is such a sin since there are so many of us out there that are JUST THAT plus mature and intelligent.
I have had so much fun with younger men in the past... but I do have to admit that I would like to have a man closer to my own age. Although, if a younger.. mature male, who knows what he wants and where he is going in his life were to make an offer... I would definitely consider it.
By the way... thanx for all the responses.
Oh.. and by the way liquid.... I make good money... but haven't yet had a younger man come after me for it. If anything... they have wanted to spend tons on me to impress me. But thanx for your opinion all the same. | |

Posted: 6/13/2005 9:24:05 PM | Joe... I don't like the way you say it all, but I agree that the majority of younger guys who are asking out older women are in it for the convenience of sex. Older women have more time, they have more money, their children maybe at an age where babysitters are no longer required, they're usually not expecting a huge committment but rather a casual, yet steady dating scenario.... what's not to like about that? For the women, he's young, fun, hopefully great in bed, makes you feel good... and so what's not to like about that.
It all depends on what kind of relationship you're looking for I guess. | |

Older does not mean less selective, at least not for this "older" woman. I have dated only one very younger, 10 years, but our relationship did not focus on sex. Mature women DO have a heck of a lot to offer younger guys, security stability and experience. But please don't assume, and I'm NOT directing this to any particular poster, that the trade off on our part is for sex. Please, I taught college and had many students that had the hot for teacher thing, I've done my teaching and you wanna talk about sex? My bed is a playground, for fun and enjoyment NOT a classroom. I state very specifically that I want a partner, an equal partner and if a younger guy can fulfill that, then fine. But he'll have to be able to provide the mental, intellectual stimulation to keep my interest. Just for me, but younger men who are looking to expand their sexual experience aren't going to get that from me. | |

Geez, when will younger men get that the prize of an older woman is not a sexual tutor. Give us some credit, older, wiser. If I were a guy and looking for easy sex, I would SO much more go after a younger woman, they need the affirmation. Just generality not ALL younger woman, but most. Younger women, in general, please don't throw things, are MUCH more likely to sleep with a man to keep him, the more mature woman would just laugh him off. Sleep with you to keep you, right, NEXT.
