| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/2/2005 9:20:04 AM | Yeah, that "prefer not to say" thing can be pretty stupid - as in the drugs question - geez, if you're gonna put "prefer not to say", why don't ya just go ahead and say it anyway??? *LOL* I mean, why would you put "prefer not to say" if you DIDN'T do drugs??? Why hide that???
But my BIGGEST pet peeve is when I see a woman's profile and the only pic on their profile is a close up cleavage shot! Come on, at least put up some pictures of what you look like, for crying out loud!

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/2/2005 12:47:38 PM | My 2 biggest peeves are :
"Prefer not to say" and "I'm not really on here looking for a man"
If you prefer not to say then I prefer not to talk to you.If you're hiding things before I even talk to you you're probably not to happy with yourself I'd imagine. No issue if a girl is a lil bigger or has kids..........just say it.......it'll all come out eventually.
Not really looking for a man? Interesting so why then are you writing me and saying we have lots in common and we should meet up? You're obviously looking for more on here then the forums or a chat buddy! Why are people afraid to admit they use a dating site for *gasp* dating?
Those are my two peeves!

OT: Hmmm how 'bout ppl not living up to their profile.
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/2/2005 1:39:17 PM | writing them
I wrote one out that was long and I got little response. Then I wrote one out that was short and I got no response! Maybe I should just put up a fake picture or say I'm good at oral. I guess my biggest pet peeve is my own frustration.
Why are people afraid to admit they use a dating site for *gasp* dating? Maybe I'm looking for friends too! Since there is only one spot to say what you are looking for, I chose dating.

|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/2/2005 9:05:35 PM | Oh, I forgot to add that I like to breathe! Since they haven't mastered the art of living without breathing it's something I like doing
Ok...bad joke! I'm tired and now walking away from the computer before I make anyone want to throw tomatoes at me!
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/2/2005 9:32:20 PM | Good point, gc33! I just realized I had that in my profile under my interests it's gone now...of course, who DOESN'T like to have fun, eh??? | |
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 6:41:49 AM | | riiiiiight...in which case, the context in which I was using the term "fun" was in fact a day at the amusement park or a night at the karaoke bar-type fun. | |
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 7:25:33 AM | When I msg someone who I think would be a good match who is a single mom (I'm a single dad) only to see her delete the message 2 minutes later after reading it.
Being a single parent definately makes dating more challenging and a lot of folks just are not interested in it. Logically, it makes sense to me that another single parent might be interested in at least talking with me, but apparently, the majority of single mom's on here do not? What gives?

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 12:44:16 PM | Bad Grammar - I'd hate to point out every mis-spelled and misplaced words in every sentence and ask them whether they mean the following things I thought they meant:
A, B, C, D, or E... | |

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 1:18:52 PM | #1 Pet Peeve is profiles with these fantasy first dates, dinner, candles, so on.... Let’s get real; you’re going to do all that with someone you don't even know yet!! | |
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 1:50:53 PM | Hmm...it'd have to be people who write "descriptions" along the lines of, "Ask me," et cetera.
Telling someone to ask you after they've decided to view your profile is hardly incentive for them to message you. Why not make it easier for them and TELL them something?

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 2:44:42 PM | profiles with nothing written in them... i guess i'm one of the rare people who prefers to know about a person on a basis other than looks before contacting them
and guys who show off their chiseled bodies in their profiles... maybe one pic is fine but id like to see their head too... i hate when their entire gallery is full of that... it really doesnt turn me on... show me your face and your smile.. i couldnt care less waht your body looks like.... and clicking 'athletic' under body type already tells me youre fit
poor grammar/spelling... its not hard to put a little extra effort into something that's advertising yourself
dark pictures or pictures where youre so far away where i cant even see you... theres no point in that
profiles full of negativity... id rather not surround myself in that
profiles solely filled with song lyrics or lists of bands you like... that really doesnt tell me anything about you other than youre trying to prove something about yourself by showing off that you know all these obscure bands

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/3/2005 8:33:20 PM | Wow I am surprised that no one has pointed this one out. I hate or dislike strongly the phrase "I am looking for my soulmate". What does that mean. Is there a DNA test for "soulmate" or is it a degree from a university / college. It just bothers me that someone male or female is looking for that elusive "soulmate". Well maybe it is an animal that we can hunt for. Or a lost pet! People, I believe that to have a soulmate is a lifetime of work on both sides of the team. Soulmates have HISTORY. Soulmates started out as friends and worked very hard to get to that point in life where their partner is their soulmate. Partners have seen the best and the worst in each other, stood by them, propped them up, argued with them, listened, fought and cried with them. But to look for that quick answer means to find something shallow. And when the first storm comes, it would not surprise me if that person walks, saying "that is not my soulmate, I'm still looking for him/her. Good hunting! | |

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/5/2005 9:44:29 AM | ok this might upset some people, If it does, I apologize.
My biggest pet peve is the postings in the profiles of the childrens photos and descriptions of your childrens ages and sexes.
Example: I saw one profile today that said "I have 3 beautiful, loving children aged 3(boy) 6(girl) and 8(girl)"
Thre is so many sick, demented child predators in this world and you are just making it easier for them. This last weekend everytime I turned around it seemed like there was yet another Amber Alert for a missing or abducted child and by posting photos, ages and the sex of your child you are just making life easier for the scum.
|
| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/5/2005 11:09:38 AM | | When the first thing I get on a message is simply "show me your pic" and nothing else. Are you that shallow? Is "hello", "thanks for the message" or goodbye" so difficult? And I also think that people who put up a pic of just their one eye should have it poked out.......you know who you are...yes you, you with the dog...(sorry buddy, had to) | |
