| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/12/2005 2:29:00 PM | lmao, this is a great thread...
I agree with pretty much all of these with a special note on the 'prefer not to say' for drugs... and the empty (or almost) profiles...
One of my biggest ones though is women (or guys for the women) who put up just shots of their clevage and ass, or more and then say they are tried of people messaging them about sex all the time... not that its wrong to put shots like that up, but if all your doing is showing off your almost naked body why would you expect anything else???

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/12/2005 7:49:17 PM | 1. Baseball caps 2. Pictures of motorcyles (cars, SUVs, planes, boats, trailerhomes) minus the profiler. 3. Portraits that look like they were lit from below with a flashlight, making the profiler appear much scarier than he probably looks. 4. Pictures of cats, dogs, snakes, ferrets, stuffed animals. 5. Profilers pictured in their most garish, logo-ed tee shirts. 6. Pictures of men with a drop-dead gorgeous girl clinging to his arm. 7. Pictures of men holding a cigarette, or a beer. | |

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/12/2005 10:17:20 PM | Okay I read alot of everyones pet peeves about profiles and heres my pet peeve about ladies profiles. #1\ if a lady is looking to find that special guy for long term relationship where is her picture?? #2\ Why is it in most ladies profiles they state looking for honest/caring /loving single male.?? #3\ and alot of first meet dates the ladies tend to want more then just to meet a guy on first date ! #4\ If a single lady is looking for long term relationship then a recent picture should be in her profile also if she expects any guy to take notice of her. #5\ if the ladies are truely seeking an honest true loving mate then why is it your not honest with your profile details ladies !!! #6\ once you meet someone and you click with them then why do you still play the head games with this mate you clicked with ?? Are you trying to test him or are you just don't under stand how to show your love to someone ???

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/14/2005 7:18:37 PM | I have 3:
1. People who put "anything you want to know about me, just ask" That statement is so open ended, I wouldn't what to ask.
2. People who have no info in their profiles other than "Looking for people who are cool and share some of my interests" Well if you don't tell me anything about your self, how am I supposed to know if I actually share some of "your interests"?
3. Women who put a blatant shot of their chests on their profile. Especially if it's the main picture. The excuse is that physical appearance is the first thing you notice about a person. But I think you are giving the wrong impression and attracting the wrong type of person.

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/14/2005 8:18:01 PM | @Kaylar30 I have always wondered why people say that, if you do not know how to spell something, then look it up in a dictionary. That phrase is so curious. If someone does not know how to spell properly how could they possibly look it up in the dictionary. You must know how to spell the word to find it in a dictionary. Isn't that a correct assumption to make? I have wondered all my life why people say "look it up in the dictionary" if they don't know how to spell it then how can they find it in a dictionary. lol. | What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/14/2005 8:31:04 PM | kaylar30 some of my posts must really annoy you then... I make typos all the time... it has nothing to do with not knowing how to spell... when I start typing my fingers fly over the keyboard and I almost invariably make mistakes... sometimes I remember to read what I type before hitting post... but not often.... | |

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/15/2005 1:54:41 PM | LOL...ummm well I would hope that most people have a general idea of how to spell a word....and should u go to dictionary.com they give you optional words that maybe you are "trying to spell" to help you out....
Lets face it if someone is trying to spell "relationship" and they can't even get the "rela" part.....well I don't think I need to say more....you are right the dictionary might be further down on their "needs or to do list" LOL
I know its anal and sad...i fully admit that.....but it annoys me...its my pet peeve and I put it on the right thread! LOL
As far as you knowing how to spell but still choose to still leave it incorrect....again....what can I say here except "WHY??????????????" I just don't get it....LOL
I hope it didn't offend anyone....its all in good fun people....but really bookmark that dictionary site....i guarantee you will use it ! lol

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/15/2005 2:06:20 PM | damn. the last one got ate in stupid internet "page cannot be displayed" nonsense
I'll put it this way: If you say "prefer not to answer", everyone automatically assumes the worst.
Body Type: "prefer not to say" = huge fatass Do you do drugs: "prefer not to say" = smackhead
Get the picture? Reveal all & save the heartache 'cause I know all the ladies who "prefer not to say" they have kids, HAVE KIDS

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/15/2005 8:33:37 PM | People lie almost more than they are truthful which is very hard to understand. Are these people looking for a relationship or not? If they lie, they will be found out and then they have lost out on whatever they are really looking for. Liers are usually very easy to figure out.
I hate the married guys that try to make me believe all I need is them. One good thing is some admit they are married. If they don't want to tell you their status in their profile, it is certain they are married. There are always ways to figure out if people who aren't who they say they are. If you ask them similar questions each time they chat with you, they will mess up if they are lying. They will never remember what they have told you before if they arn'nt telling the truth, so their story changes. It is harder to make up a lie than to tell the truth, so they usually can't make up a lie quickly enough to give you too many details. If they don't like questions, they are trying to cover up who they really are.
If guys aren't interested in getting to know who you are or want you to know who they are, you can be very sure all they are looking for is sex. If you try to get them to talk about their lives, they always try to change the subject. It doesn't usually matter who you are as long as you have the right kind of body parts so they aren't interested in anything else about you. If you don't want to talk about sex, they don't want to talk to you at all.

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/16/2005 9:32:05 AM | I understand the limit on distance dating. I have a busy life and do not own a 2 seater jet.
Its that simple.
As for my pet peeve........... "I want a GIRL who...."
I have worked hard to become a full fledged woman. Girl sounds childlike to me so it urks me.
Probably opened a can of worms here, but it is a pet peeve of mine.

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/16/2005 9:40:30 AM | How about chick? Is that a good comprimise? You can call me dude or bud if you want...actually I hate that, don't do it.
Pet peeve in profiles is people being negative, or making a dream list for the perfect person. If you're looking for Superman, you had better be Superwoman. If you're less than a 10, what makes you think that someone who is a 12 will want you? I don't really mail too many people anyway...I'm mostly here for the forums.

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/16/2005 11:57:10 AM | Another pet peeve of mine is seeing people say things like... well if the person has x number of people who have them on their favorite list they are a player...
its not up to me who puts me on their favorite list... I have no control over it at all.... (just a note... I beleive i'm only on two peoples favorite lists...), so if 1000 people happen to come along and for some insane reason decide to list me in their favorites, it shouldnt reflect on me... that would be like getting pissed off at someone because people keep looking at them.... just silly.....
note... I put this in the first person even though it doesnt apply to me... I just used myself as an example....

| What is your #1 Pet Peeve in Profiles Posted: 7/16/2005 5:19:14 PM | Hi Kaylar30, No, I am sure you didn't offend any one at all. Your right, it is all in fun. I happen to spell quite well so I do understand why it may be an issue sometimes. Spelling is a pet peeve of yours, just like "trailer park intelligence" comments are a Pet peeve of mine. I do always take "trailer park" jokes to heart and very personaly and I really shouldn't because any one that has ever known me and has seen my trailer would never make any cracks about trailer park living. Mostly because I live in a trailer but it is a beautiful one. But when I hear a "trailer park remark" well I take very personally. Not to worry Kara, you offended no one. Workinggirl42 | |

If it was and I was a guy I'd just be able to walk outside and models would throw themselves at me! Plus it shows how shallow people are being so oriented on looks
