Posted: 8/10/2009 6:16:33 PM | Serious comment: I see short men with gorgeous girls all the time, they tend to have AWSOME personalities and the women they are with love to laugh, the shortness because cute and adorable to those women so they love their shorter men very much.
Serious question: If your friend is really wonderful, why don't you try stepping up your relationship with him and dating him? If you think he deserves a good woman, and he'd be a good boyfriend, why not let you be that good woman, who knows your friend better than you? Just a thought. | |

Wait.. I mean I would hope some girls date shorter men and there is nothing wrong with that.. LOL =P Then again most guys like shorter girls, most girls taller guys. It's a common thing amongst most people I think. I think the study that i read somewhere said ideally girls find guys who are 5% taller than them more attractive then even and more so then shorter.
so a 5'2 (62 inches tall) generally prefers a guy who is 5'5 (65 inches tall) ... Generally about 2-3 inches taller than them. Of course you see the weird couples where one is 6'7 and the other is 4'11... I knew a couple like that but they subsequently broke up LOL | |

Being 6'1 I wouldn't date a taller woman though. I was out about a month ago, and there was a lady there about 6'4ish, and she was cute, but I couldn't do that. I like to be looking down on my woman. | |

Kind of like when we post on each others computer.
I do like the height difference when I am with you. I can wear wedges and still you are taller than me. Typically the men I am with are about the same height, just how it works out.
My daughter likes shorter guys, ok her first and only bf was shorter by several inches, but she really doesn't care about the height thing. | |

I'm 5'11" soooo i'm usually taller than most guys around me. I don't judge on height...if the guy is great then he's great period. =) I meet guys in all heights if there is no chemistry... thats just it.
I get the reverse a lot...I'm tooooo tall. Oh well it's their loss. Tell your friend to keep his head up.

Posted: 9/3/2009 9:05:35 AM | I'm a short guy so I figured I would weigh in on this. I'm good looking and muscular but I'm 5'6". I have no problem getting dates, I date fairly often actually. However in the 4 months I've been dating online I have had several height related issues with women.
One asked me if my height is a typo, another said "at least you can admit it" (that I'm 5'6") while we were talking on the phone, as if it is similar to admitting that I have a contagious disease or something. One said it wouldn't be a problem, then we met and it was a problem. Then she texted me a day later and apologized saying I'm everything she ever wanted in a man and she wanted another chance lol. One woman started emailing me, we went back and forth a few times and then she realized I was 5'6" (guess she didn't read my profile lol) and never heard from her again.
I have a very good profile, very good pictures and I sometimes get a feeling that the only reason certain women won't date me is because I'm short. Thing is, I NEVER go after women who are taller than me. Not due to personal preference, just due to the fact that very few women want to be taller than their man. The ones that think I'm too short are often well under 5'5". Some even around 5'0".
Crazy thing is, I get looks from women all the time in public that would probably move on to the next profile if they saw my "stats" online. I have never been self-conscious about my height but its hard not to after being on the online dating scene for so long. POF could help out by putting height preferences on profiles as well so if a chick has 6'4" listed as her preference I'd know not to bother.
