I dont need to describe that do I? You all know what I'm talking about right? These days I find myself attracted to men that are taller than me. Dont really know why, but that's the way it is. | |

Posted: 9/3/2009 9:05:35 AM | I'm a short guy so I figured I would weigh in on this. I'm good looking and muscular but I'm 5'6". I have no problem getting dates, I date fairly often actually. However in the 4 months I've been dating online I have had several height related issues with women.
One asked me if my height is a typo, another said "at least you can admit it" (that I'm 5'6") while we were talking on the phone, as if it is similar to admitting that I have a contagious disease or something. One said it wouldn't be a problem, then we met and it was a problem. Then she texted me a day later and apologized saying I'm everything she ever wanted in a man and she wanted another chance lol. One woman started emailing me, we went back and forth a few times and then she realized I was 5'6" (guess she didn't read my profile lol) and never heard from her again.
I have a very good profile, very good pictures and I sometimes get a feeling that the only reason certain women won't date me is because I'm short. Thing is, I NEVER go after women who are taller than me. Not due to personal preference, just due to the fact that very few women want to be taller than their man. The ones that think I'm too short are often well under 5'5". Some even around 5'0".
Crazy thing is, I get looks from women all the time in public that would probably move on to the next profile if they saw my "stats" online. I have never been self-conscious about my height but its hard not to after being on the online dating scene for so long. POF could help out by putting height preferences on profiles as well so if a chick has 6'4" listed as her preference I'd know not to bother.

Posted: 9/3/2009 11:51:01 AM | While standing, it's nice to kiss a guy without having to lean your neck all the way back to a 90 degree angle. And if a guys too tall, it's harder to kiss while making love.

I freely admit to being 'heightist'; the taller the better. Not interested in forming a romantic 'relationship' with a man under 6'.
That is not saying I think tall men are better human beings than shorter men. Only that that is my preference.
Don't care if anyone else thinks that makes me a bad person. I know what I like and don't have any motivation or reason to change my preference. | |

Posted: 10/13/2009 8:26:45 PM | I didn't notice what area you live in but I date shorter guys more than taller ones. I think sometimes that I prefer guys closer to my height, I'm 5'2. Some women just have insecurity issues.
