| Your Buddy Spud Posted: 10/28/2009 2:42:25 AM | Have added Spudster to the list of those in need of prayer at my church. Will pray for his spirits to stay up too, as positive thinking & moods help to heal a body quicker.
to you Spud. xoxox | |

| Your Buddy Spud Posted: 10/28/2009 8:16:40 AM | Hey all... Just a big thank you to all your kind words.. love.. and healing thoughts..being sent Jim's way.. and to let you all know that...
If you are all at an event...that Jim would normally be at.. and you got a card together that would be wonderful...I am pretty sure that would certainly lift his spirits...cus i know it is killing him to be missing out on all these events..let alone his friends!
I was given the impression that although he is still very weak that visits would be fine at the moment.. and a few candy strippers wouldn't hurt.. (it is Halloween) LMAO... so if your in the area.. I am pretty sure he would be thrilled to have some interaction with his friends..
loves on ya all!! | |

| Your Buddy Spud Posted: 10/28/2009 11:05:01 AM | He is strong but he should have been out by now - that is one hekuva long hospital stay.
I am going to try to visit him this weekend.
I trust he is in the same place?
|
| Your Buddy Spud Posted: 11/2/2009 7:06:29 AM | Visited Spud over the weekend and considering he has been in the hospital for three months now I am astounded at how good his spirits are. He certainly appreciated our visit but be prepared to don a gown up and snap on a pair of latex gloves to enter his room.
That day he had a test done to determine how to tackle this latest infection. He is also having problems with his circulation so has an apparatus that ensures that it is flowing efficiently.
I know I would go stir crazy sitting in the hospital for three months. I can't imagine how restricting that must be for Spud.
He sure misses hanging out with everyone. Take a moment if you have some free time and go visit him. It's pretty lonely for him.

What a disappointment it must have been for him to finally get home, only then be whisked right back to hospital.
Sending him the best wishes from the Sunshine Coast.

| Your buddy Spud Posted: 11/19/2009 8:30:30 AM | I have not met Spud...but have been reading the posts addressing concerns and wishes from his friends here.
I have suggestion....are laptops allowed in the ward that he is on? Does he have computer connections?
IF yes to the above....maybe a viewer here (friend from the forums) can loan him a laptop that is not in use so he can stay connected to his friends through the internet.

| Your buddy Spud Posted: 11/19/2009 2:05:43 PM | Hey you all..
sorry to post again so soon.. but i have spoken with Jim's Family...and they asked me to pass on a little bit of information to you all...
It is looking like Jim will not be going home..not anytime soon anyways.. and probably not even for christmas.. he does not understand this yet.. and keeps saying he will be home soon.. but according to his family he wont be...
He is battling a severe infection that is putting a halt to the surgery that he needs to have..
They had him on some antibiotics that really made him super sick.. but have changed that now.. and hoping that this one will work..with less severe side effects...If this works and the infection diminishes ..they can go ahead and do the surgery that he requires... This surgery has been discussed by many doctors on weather jim would make it thru the surgery with all his other problems...but they are going to chance it apparently and at least try...unfortunately if any of you have had to deal with doctors and extended hospital visits you know what its like when one hand is not communicating with the other.. and every doctor has their own opinion. His family has been doing a rotation of visits with Jim.. and been paying to get him the "hospital tv" for a quite a few months now.. which is putting a toll on them...
the idea of someone lending him a laptop would be great... perhaps a rogers internet stick? not sure whether the hospital has wireless or not.. but i could find out if anyone volunteers..
apparently you can call and ask for him... and if the ward phone is not in use and Jim is up to it.. you can chat with him for a bit.. im pretty sure if you mail him something there he would get it as well..
but if you have time for a visit.. our sweet Jim could probably use a smiling non judgmental face and conversation with a caring friend...
guys.. Jim is hurtin.. lets pull together to help ease this time for him.. message me if you have any ideas or want/can help out in any way..
thanks all..

| Your buddy Spud Posted: 11/20/2009 11:50:56 PM | I am really saddened to hear that Jim is still so ill. I wish I could go and see him and give him some good vibes but I have been ill myself... To be battling so much certainly can wear on ones spirit... I hope and pray that he continues his fight and that we all send the love and prayers he needs to make a healthy recovery.
Your in my prayers Spud... much love to you! xxooxx
