Yeah I understand women like it rough, but choking is a bit much for me.
I will never understand why so many people think that anything non-vanilla is "rough." I can't stand rough sex. That is a quick way to never see me naked again. That doesn't mean I don't have interests that would likely go against the grain of many many people. (The fine art of "choking" is not rough unless one specifically wants it that way ~ just like those who love to be pounded on ~ it's all subjective, personal preference.) JMO  | |

Posted: 5/30/2009 12:57:33 AM | People like this because lack of oxygen heightens pleasure and the sensation of feeling woozy in the throes of passion is an aquired one, others like it because of the domination effect, they may have fantasies that this really feeds into (can't go into much detail here), or for a combination of these reasons.
The best thing is that you've stumbled apon something that you really enjoy, great  This place, apart from a couple of exceptions is probably not the place to ask this question or for advice. You need a specialist ear, check out "informed consent", do a little health and safety reading up, talk to other people who are into this on dedicated websites, email me and I'll give you a couple of pointers. You say you did it very lightly, a glimpse into the future though, if you're enjoying this you may start to push the limits with it, this kind of thing can take hold in the beginning and runaway with you - particularly when you discover the whole other world of sex. Basic rules
1) never do this sort of thing if either of you are intoxicated in any way, it's more difficult to gauge pressure and response from your partner
2) don't feel pressured by your partner to take it further than you feel comfortable with, or than is SAFE
3) whenever possible, talk about it BEFORE you do this with a person
4) This one's non-negotiable.......after this has happended YOU MUST chat with the person about what happened, make sure you're comfortable, she's comfortable...don't do it straight away after as feelings can be overpowering, wait until things have cooled down.
5) Consider using safe words....with choking this can be difficult...old dojo trick (I used to use this when someone had me in stangle hold or was kneeling on my throat - love that ju-jitsu)....two quick taps (using her hand -or foot) to your leg, arm, any where on your body...this means time out or back off , get her to practice it.

Trust is extremely vital, and communication cures all. What we both got from it, was the continued development of trust and mutuality we always tried to achieve during the relationship.
How well did she know you? The person I was with, was a girlfriend from 12 years ago. We were together for 2 years.
Talk about enjoying being at someone's mercy! If it's done with pressure applied, then yes. If it's done without pressure (as we often did), then we loved the idea of assuming that control without consequence.
