possibly screwing up the economy despite the best growth in a generation
The problem isn't with whichever party happens to be in power, but with the system they administrate. Capitalism is cyclical in nature. This is good news for those with the wealth to work the markets; buying up properties when the markets have crashed and selling them on again when they are bloated. But for your everyday people who need consistent employment to survive, their livelihoods remain at the mercy of the instability of the system. It won't be any better under the Conservatives, of course, as they have a history of bringing in anti-working class legislation whilst giving tax breaks for their rich chums with the disingenuous view that wealth 'trickles down'. Erm, actually, the only place it trickles is into their own bank accounts. 'New' Labour are going back to the shadow cabinet for sure but I don't even see much of a difference between the two parties any more so it'll be a case of here's the new boss, same as the old boss.
