| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/1/2009 3:32:19 AM | | To be honest i dont have much of a social life due to work, so this seemed a really good idea. I have chatted with several guys, met a couple for a drink, but to be honest it seems most the guys either dont display thier real pictures, after having a chat with some via MSN, and just when i think maybe theres a connection, out comes the typical mans explicit language!!! Im not sure if i will be lucky enough to meet a decent guy on POF, as it seems they only want one night, and are not looking for a long term relationship. Whats wrong with MEN today they seem to have forgotten how to respect women!!!! | |

Why did you guys choose to use Plenty of Fish? It's free. And the forums. I don't think I'm going to find a date or relationship here.
Are you currently using any other dating sites? No
Are you here looking for friends, dates, or relationships? Was looking for friends, maybe a relationship. Someone to email. Now - nothing.
What would be a deal breaker on here I have no deal breakers. Someone sending me something rude would be a blocked. Sending me short messages that says you didn't read my profile or know anything about from it will get deleted.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/1/2009 2:44:05 PM | I like seafood.
Yes. The inhabitants are even more obnoxious.
I have no idea why I'm here.
I peruse the fora because I'm just not quite miserable enough. Yet.
I don't know what a dealbreaker is. If you're crude or nasty, I'll laugh at you.

What would be a deal breaker on here--as in, what would someone say in a message/email/phone call to you that would make you be like, "delete, block, goodbyyyye!"
I reached a new level of boredom.
I am not on any other dating site and never have been. I also do not waste money on gambling.
Not really looking for anything, but if it were to hit me in the head, okay.
Extreme stupidity, being an ass, mean and rude, crude....they are gone.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/1/2009 8:22:32 PM | I love POF because of the forums. I have met some nice guys here, and it's free. It annoys the heck out of me to get a message from other sites where I have a profile just so I can look around, when I get a message that says you have a message, pay the money so you can read it. I don't pay the money because I have already scanned the profiles of the guys in my area, and there isn't anyone I am interested in.
A deal breaker for me is anyone who uses drugs. If I have messaged back in forth with someone, we eventually talk on the phone and I find out they use drugs on " a recreational basis." I never have never had to block anyone. They usually give up after a few messages where they get no response.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/2/2009 12:56:31 AM | After my gf and i broke up, she told me she was going to join dating sites for whatever reasons and probably to try and rub it in my face. I was drunk and bored one night so i thought i'd do it aswell, which is why my profile is sparse and not very good. I wasnt looking to meet anyone. I joined this particular site because it is free.
I now mostly just surf the forums as time filling entertainment.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/2/2009 9:46:02 AM | If a guy doesn't read my profile & emails me. That is a definate deal breaker. | |

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/2/2009 10:57:04 AM | I had a friend tell me she had instantaneous success here. When I joined, I fell in love with the archaic looking page-design. I still have a DOS program I use at work, and this resembles it. It's awesome. Oh, DOS...how I miss thee!
Anyways, I'm looking for any sort of emotional connection. A lasting relationship with a man, regardless of the nature. Of course, it would be lovely to find a partner, but I'm not holding out for it.
As for "no-go's"...anyone who is passive, and/or "hidden".

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/2/2009 11:41:20 AM | | I'm also on match...horrible success rate and keep seeing my exes in the search function which makes me feel worse. I've had a couple of dates from this site, but no sparko. The only benefit I can think of, are the forums, I've learned so much about how women think, and the stupid mistakes I've made, learned from....but at the expense of the relationship....great, I've improved myself now where's my next chance?... Almost like being rich with no health.... | |

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/17/2009 8:53:45 AM | POF is free and does a great job of monitoring not only the profiles but the forums.
With all the paid sites out there, this site actually beats them all.
Actually with POF I have Not had some of the weirdo type emails that I have had on some of the other paid sites. And this is after being on here for about 9 months. Hey this includes the so called Christian sites too.
All one has to do is ck out one of the other sites and you will find that POF seems to do a better job of policing and keeping it clean plus has forums....Its free.
I have a feeling that most will have just as good a chance, if not better, on here as any paid site if they are looking for that someone special, and it will not do in your pocket book.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/17/2009 9:20:09 PM | | I'm always posted on match.com too.... but it's SO expensive!!!! I will say, I think there are more people on there looking for an ACTUAL relationship. This site, it's less of a chance of a person looking for a LONG term relationship. But I take my chances and maybe I find someone decent. I'm at a LOSS of where to go out and meet someone already! I have no CLOSE friends around and work from home.... I'm just screwed!!!!!! | |

Why did you guys choose to use Plenty of Fish? Why not? It's a free site and doesn't cost anything to keep a profile on here.
Are you here looking for friends, dates, or relationships? I'm looking to make friends. And hoping that one of those friendships may lead to a relationship.
What would be a deal breaker on here--as in, what would someone say in a message/email/phone call to you that would make you be like, "delete, block, goodbyyyye!"
-"I've dated hundreds of guys off this site" -"I go on 3 or 4 dates a week, with different guys from this site" -"I've had several relationships. But every one of them was with a guy who was a a--hole"

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/19/2009 8:39:41 PM | I have been on other sites. Some I may still be, though I haven't checked em.
I had the best time in POF. Better selection of friendlier girls. Tons of fun in the forums. Met my girl here. (bout 5th one in a row, but I'm keeping this one) So POF has been a blast.
I have blocked two women. Both bluntly wanted sex and insulted me when I refused. I mean I am a guy and do like sex. But I'm not a piece of net meat. Got some standards. Damn few, but some.

| Why Plenty of Fish? Posted: 11/20/2009 6:44:05 AM | It's free. I enjoy the forums here more than the other sites. Not using any other sites -- well, I might be on one or two others -- tried to delete my accounts, but still getting messages from one, so I guess I haven't deleted it!
First looking for friends, met some people through here, but ultimately looking for a relationship, though my profile says "Friends". Profile is hidden (met somebody -- we're dating) and I enjoy the forums.
Dealbreakers? References to having sex and/or moving too fast for my comfort in that department. But I haven't deleted or blocked anyone -- I ignore anyone who offends me. Though when I first became a member, there were a couple I didn't respond to because I had no clue what to write back to their one-lines and their profiles didn't help much!
