| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/11/2009 10:34:09 AM | Isn't it wonderful how the weather turned out perfectly... finally!? I took yesterday afternoon off work and spent most of it sitting on the grass in the Commons, soaking up the sun and the general atmosphere... LOVE it! | |

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/12/2009 5:22:23 PM | Out of this world show... my top concert ever! I watched his 2005 US (not U.S.) tour dvd today... to reminisce! :-)
Maple, were you close to the stage? No need to ask if you enjoyed it, I'm sure! ;-)

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/12/2009 9:14:37 PM | Great show! I was in the camping chair section so was quite a distance away. Relied on the big screen a lot.

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 2:35:01 PM | I'm still on a high from the experience. My desktop at work and at home is of Sir Paul, of course!
The only negative thing I heard was from friends who were in the VIP section... not worth the extra cash to be so far from the stage. I figured as much and was happy to get general admission for that reason. I got closer to the Eagles on Magnetic Hill than anyone in the VIP section... and this was the same thing. Plus, you want to be right in there... smack dab in the middle of the crowd... dancing and singing... a great memory... and still hard to believe I saw a BEATLE! :-)

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 4:39:11 PM | Nah, not at all! I felt the same way about the Blues Festival last summer!
Go ahead and enjoy the hell out of the afterglow as long as you can, Sweetcheeks!!

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 4:49:49 PM | Ummm... what's the inside scoop? Anyone know if Sir Paul may be lurking in the POF shadows?? He would likely be the only man 20 years my senior that I would consider, but man... would I consider him (drool)! | |

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 5:14:15 PM | ^^*passes the tissue to the drooler up there*
Anddddddddddddd since I'm not allowed to post something that short, here--just for you, Poetry, dear...
When I get older losing my hair, Many years from now. Will you still be sending me a valentine Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three Would you lock the door, Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too, And if you say the word, I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse When your lights have gone. You can knit a sweater by the fireside Sunday mornings go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds, Who could ask for more. Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage, In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear We shall scrimp and save Grandchildren on your knee Vera, Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line, Stating point of view Indicate precisely what you mean to say Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form Mine for evermore Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four.
(I can picture her crooning it to him...)

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 5:29:41 PM | hum hrum... la la la... do re mi fa... hrum... I'm exercising my vocal chords. I think I'm about ready to sing that to Paul now, or I can keep practicing and should be ready by the time I'm 63... just in the nick of time! Think he'll still be available then? | |
|
| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 5:32:05 PM | Did you mean to ask "do we think he'll still be ALIVE then?!?!"
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see, there will be an answer. let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me, shine until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 6:03:46 PM | OK fine... I'll let it be! I'll just keep my thoughts/dreams of Paul to myself... OR... share them with whoever will listen!
And of COURSE he'll still be alive when I'm 63... he's ageless!
But seriously, back to topic... I was waiting for "Let It Be" but also for "Hey Jude," and I loved how the entire audience sang the whole song along with him... it was magical (swoon). I really should have been a flower child... living in California... Twiggy skinny and living on a beach... singing folk songs and protesting whatever wrongs were going on in the world... carefree, happy (probably stoned?)... but... all things considered, life turned out pretty well just the same. It ain't a storybook life, I'll never be with Sir Paul, but... it's more interesting to live in reality, I suppose.

| Paul McCartney Coming To Halifax Posted: 7/13/2009 6:25:00 PM | Houston, we have descent....
And I think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no no no I'm a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Oops....wrong British knight!
