| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 4:43:24 PM | We need a fuel-like station for humans where we could plug ourselves into a machine, (of course after swiping our debit or credit card through first 'cause nothing comes for free ), then push one of many buttons on the machine to refill ourselves with whatever is lacking in our mental, spiritual, emotional or physical lives, be it happiness, love, comfort, angst relief, cure for our cold or infection, etc.
Happiness isn't a spouse, or a pet. It's not food ... Cheesecake & chocolate always makes me happy. So do puppies & most baby animals & being around funny people. I am usually happy whether I am with partner or without, but I'm usually happier when I'm in a good relationship or surrounded by good friends. This appears to be true for most of my friends who have entered relationships ... they seem to light up & glow & feel more content ... & they also get this strange, flushed look on their faces.
Life does throw out bad dreams, angry people, car repairs, sickness & shyte like that which might make me unhappy for a brief time, or sometimes more disappointed than unhappy. But I don't like being around miserable people for too long, including myself so I try to do things I enjoy & hang around fun people to help me snap out of it.
Wondering if ~Jane Says~ would benefit from taking some "happy sunshine Vitamin D"? It has done wonders to perk me up & might help to uplift not just her mood but also her health.

I actually am outdoors for an hour or more each day so I am pretty sure I am getting enough D, but thanks for your concern.
I don't believe you can fuel up with happiness, but I think it is typical that a member of a society where we are led to CONSUME and CONSUME would say this.

I am a true believer that Love...Happiness will find you. It will find you when you least expect it and when you stop your search for it.
I do think a lot of us are here are hoping it will find us.
Ya....pretty simple to me. " Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder…”– Thoreau."
Happiness is my own job, as for love, let it find me I supposed, if its meant to, let it happen.

A couple houses under my belt, no debt, and all I could really ask for with friends and family. Someone to share the hapiness with is all a person could really want. Hence the name lovnlife.

Xavery is a fascinating name. It is a variation of Xavier and means brilliant, very bright. She sounds like that - your Xavery. Many posters seem to have odd love/hate relationships with her.
NOT her and come up with this? ok! lol

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/22/2009 9:44:40 AM | ^^^I can't imagine how a poster can change their name in order to appear to be a newbie without having to change their entire style of writing, their attitudes, personality, etc. which is tough to do. To pretend to be someone else would also be representing a false online persona & be completely dishonest, especially if one has lied about their looks & stats in their profile as well. If at first nobody realizes it, it's only a matter of time before they catch on & then you have to deal with that 'mud in the face' thing. I know there are many on here who have changed their user names several times over, but so far the ones I've spoken to have been honest & up front about admitting it & many have used their old profile pics under their new user name.
On topic ... the sun is shining today & that always makes me happy. Not too hot, not too cold. Goldilocks likes it that way.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/22/2009 10:17:15 AM | It finds me cuz I attract it and embrace it. When happiness knocks, I am always at home.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Love the ones who don't just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Kiss slowly. Forgive quickly.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/22/2009 10:37:48 AM | I am happy with myself and my life. A loving relationship cannot make you happy. I have to make myself happy. No other person can do that for me. A loving relationship is icing on the cake. As human beings we need to build our own cake. Then if a loving relationship happens it makes out lives sweeter. Do I wait for love to come along- yes. Do I do what I can to bring romantic love into my life - also yes. As the song say's "you cant hurry love" Does not having romantic love in my life affect my happiness-no. Have I missed the boat on a loving relationship because I thought he wan not my " Mr. wonderful" - probably. But life is too short for regrets. Happiness is always temporary as are all emotions. Often there is something I am unhappy about but that does not last long and does not affect my overall happiness. | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/26/2009 7:05:11 PM | Yes, every morning it finds me... I am a success, not because I have a million dollars, but because I am willing to live without them. I am a success because I get up every morning with a smile on my face even though some of my relationships suck, yet I am willing to keep trying. I am a success because even though my heart has been broken sooo many times...I am willing to love again, fiercely... Yes, it finds me everytime I look. MN | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 9/20/2009 6:54:20 PM | Having a profile in an online dating website is akin to "happiness locator beacon" sending out signals, in hopes of being found, and for others it is akin to having a "happiness searchlight".
Perhaps some need to replace the batteries in the beacons and searchlights.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 9/20/2009 7:05:05 PM | Most people have to find happiness but I suppose a few people are truly blessed and fall into the warm embrace of happiness.
I think it helps if you know yourself and what is in your heart. If you know what makes you happy, it is much easier to find happiness. I am not just talking about relationships but understanding what you really like doing.

Don't get me wrong, I am always ready to share a smile, and don't require a lot to feel happy. But, I don't wake up every morning with a smile on my face

Happiness is within. And everything else becomes alive. It took me a long time to realize that. Corny, maybe. But truthful.
