| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/24/2009 9:07:15 AM | Hello,
I posted a help question to you somewhere but can't locate its whereabouts now. Anyhoo...I purchased a profile skin but I suppose because I'm on a Mac and using Firefox (no access to IE) that it's not showing up. There's only a solid coloured background showing up - no image whatsoever of what it should be. Could you make the skins compatible for Firefox users on Macs, please? The skins look pretty...I wish I could view them on my profile :(

Looks like lilly pads on a pond.

Well that's great that others can view my profile skins...how about myself? I don't know what operating system you're using, but i'm on a Mac OSX using Firefox as my main browser and my lily pad on a pond skin isn't showing up properly nor can I preview it. Instead of the POF blue background it's now a gold/brown colour - quite boring!
Can we get the admin to look into this please? I'm a graphic designer so I appreciate this new skin feature – just wish it would work for me :(

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/25/2009 8:20:50 AM | | Cowboy - I see her lilypads (sorta) but they're behind the main window.. I can only see a snippet. If that's the actual way the skin should look then, no offence to the POF web creators, it's pretty superfluous. | |

Okay, have a question. How do I know how many more points I need to use before I can get a skin When you compose an email, or email reply, look to the left of the gift selections.

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/25/2009 10:45:13 AM | Sorry to be a bother.
My screen resolution is at its highest 1440 x 900. I'm on a Mac Powerbook . Again, I should emphasize I am on an Apple MAC (laptop)... majority of users are PC Window based users I understand , but if the coding/programming for the skin is written for just PCs then in effect that's the reason why the skin is not rendering properly on my Mac.
Can the admin look into this, please? Maybe write a universal code for the profile skin so as to meet more operating systems out there like mine? thanks.

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/25/2009 11:42:11 AM | | It tells me how many points I have, and yes I understand that but I have been sending gifts so that I can get to the 5000 mark! But I don't know my standing of how much more to send in order to get that new profile skin that I would like. ~sighs~ Sorry, sometimes I am a bit of a blockhead understanding. Is there a place to see how much you have spent in points???? I should have spent very close to 5000 but don't know the amount. | |

No bother at all - screen resolution should be the determining factor - try updating your version of Firefox to the latest as you're running version 2 and version 3 is available - give that a run . I'm also running 1440x900 and see yours fine with Firefox 3, albeit from Vista or XP.

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/25/2009 6:18:26 PM | ^^ I tried setting my screen resolution differently, to see the skin. It messes up all my other pages/sites, here on my computer... lol! So heck with it. I LIKE how I see things on my computer.. not going to change it all just to see a screen skin on PoF. And so.. life goes on. No big deal. | |

We shouldn't have to change our screen resolution just to be able to "see" these skins. How ridiculous is that? Why don't these patterns show up on our actual ad space, instead of "around" the edges of our ads? That would make more sense. Then we could see much more of the pattern. (like other social sites that allow patterns as backgrounds)
I think the idea is cool, but poorly implemented.

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/25/2009 10:40:37 PM | ^^Gosh dern it...you wasted your free points??
You know...I could care less about skins...I don't often view my own profile and my perty face is enough for everyone else!
However....
...I do very much like the perk of getting double picture loading capability and the unlimited points to send annoying virtual gifts! HeeHee...
The only thing that keeps me from such, is not wanting to pay a year in advance to get the reasonable rate (which I feel it is worth)....so if Markus decides to offer such month by month, I am in. :O)

| New Feature - Profile Skins Are Now Available Posted: 5/26/2009 5:33:26 AM | hmm...I'm running Firefox version 2.0 and that seems to be the latest version – I just checked and there are no new updates. Bummer.
Again, I wish I could view preview it on my end... I used up 5000 pts! Sorry if I'm making this a big deal... I am an artist and I like COLOUR AND GRAPHICS! (I'd rather be able to view it on my end than other users having the advantage...*sigh*...they didn't used up 5000 pts!)
thanks for the suggestions here though.

If your code is capable of associating a snippet of html (to inject image placeholders) and a block of css (ideally included as a file, but inline along with the html will do) then I can help you code some more interesting themes - I develop themeable web applications for a living, I'm not some numpty offering you assistance only to provide you with a bucket of FAIL ;)

Thanks Markus. Not just that we can add A skin, but can change them at will. To match my eyes, or my mood or my outfit or the weather...
