And...of course, raw oysters on the half shell. OMG...I could eat 1 1/2 dozen *right* here, *right* now. And richly reward whoever brought me some.  Some days I miss living in Northern Florida!!!!
Can I share my *one* really romantic V-day, since it's coming up and it was food related?? It was 2003. 4 days before I found out I was pregnant. I was married and still happy. I made a meal of all sorts of finger foods, including fried oysters, of course. Got a friend to take my daughter for the night. I spread out a picnic blanket on my bedroom floor and spread the finger food meal out. My hub joined me on the blanket and we exchanged gifts. All i remember giving him was silk boxers. He gave me 2 very special gifts. No, not diamonds. One was an Anne Geddes book of the newborns and pg women. The other was one of those ceramic knickknacks of a mom and dad and their baby. What was so special is that the likelihood of my being pregnant was very low despite our infertility treatment at the drs office...his gifts showed his confidence in our being able to grow our family via pregnancy. Anyway, we ate the finger foods, exchanged the gifts... then had our, ahem, physical celebration. yep. 2/14/2003, my last romantic Valentine's day. But, it was memorable for me, anyway. (yep, and now we're separated and I can't stand him, things change, times change, and I can't wait for us to be divorced, oh well).
A bedroom picnic w/finger foods (by candlelight) is ultraromantic!

(Saganaki, Pecorino Affienato, Bresse Bleu, Pamigiano Regiano, Goat Mozarella). Cheese and sex don't always mix though.
