Posted: 6/6/2009 6:12:42 AM | I am always facinated by bb precisely becuase of what happens to these people as thier facades, false hair nails start to slip. Its fabulous becuase we can see how much they lie , how manipulation and intreigue happens and we see the real person eventually.
we also get to see the pompous ego maniacs have to dress up and eat terrible food and its really funny.
If you are interested in people, the formation of friendships the development of enemies and the display of ego then its facinating , if you arent then stop calling those of us who are horrid things , stop sitting at your computer and ****ing about tv programs you apparently dont watch and do something that you do like.
Me i like watching the housemates and hearing what other people make of the intrigues and torments. | |

I hated Britains got talent when I first saw it but got suckered in and ending up watching 3 days of the finals. I find it extremely rude when certain people post on forums making derogatory comments about people that watch certain programs or dress in a certain way or even have certain views and if they ever behaved that way in real life I suspect they would be walking round with 2 permanent black eyes. | |

She reminds me of a little pixie i saw in Stanley Park a while back.
I like that Russian boxer fella, the little boy from America and the Indian guy with great sense of humor (i don't think he knows that he has great sense of humor) this one reminds me of *Mumbai Calling

The financial Director where I work applied to be a contestant but the application was refused. Normal is what we call the average person who fits in with the majority expectations of our society.
I'm sick of hearing what is normal, when actually we all know what is normal.
Normal to some may not be normal to society so generally speaking normal is just....normal!
The only people who have a problem with using the term normal is those who aren't and think they should be cos they're conceited and self-centred, and the do-gooders who think they know PC and make out as if they're clever.

Posted: 6/7/2009 3:17:24 AM | I thought no, not going to watch all that rubbish... but there wasn't much else to watch last night and somehow I got absorbed in it.
I'd accidentally recorded the arrival the previous night and so was able to give it a quick scan over to see who was in, glad I did really as it was so long and drawn out with breaks in between.... I was able to skip a lot .... love that! non of the commercials had a chance!
Freddie, who I warmed to and now sadly renamed Half-whit and Sophie (dog-face, but not!) seem so sweet together and he's already admitted his affection for her in the diary room.
..............a couple of the others really irritated me and I can see some really unhappy people in there who were filled with their own self importance only to be shot down in flames with the realization they are non housemates till they perform some task to become one.
So far all who have tried have succeeded but I was particularly worried that two had to walk over 'glass' to achieve that status as it looked and sounded real enough to make me cringe a bit. Turned out to be sugar water props.
I even missed some of my fave CSI so it may get me watching after all. | |

The first couple of runs were quite interesting experiments socially, but latterly its been taken over by those vacuous wannabe's looking for instant Z - list celebrity status and fame .. no doubt encouraged by Endemol in a bid to boost ratings .
AND WHATS WORSE - they feel that they have to show the SAME garbage the following morning at about 7:30 , and so dumping my favourite comedy of the moment (Everyone Loves Raymond) in the trash can ...............

I 'wouldn't lower myself' to watch it for the first four years, then I got suckered in to BB5, I've been an avid viewer ever since. Funnily enough, BB5 was around the time when I first got into psychology in a big way.
I really regret now that I didn't see them, instead I only saw the videobites and formed my opinion based on them (absolute shit, waste of money), how wrong was I?
I love people watching, I love to see how people react in a given situation, I love to see the herd mentality in action, I love to see how far people will go to get what they want. I love it, full stop.
Does anyone honestly believe they would behave any differently? They are just people.
They have the same dynamics in the house as we have outside. We are all competitive, we are all seeking friends and allies to support us and whom we will support.
This years contestants are no better nor worse than previously (and anyone who thinks that the original competitors went in with higher motives wants a major reality check. They went into to something completely unknown because they wanted to be on the telly or they wanted to make some money!)
Anyway, to this year
Saffia, she's left her 7 month old baby to go into the house for up to three months? WTF is she thinking?!
Dog-Face and Half-Wit, not sure I would go that far.... Who am I kidding, If I wanted to be on the show, had got through all the auditions and made it into the house, I'd be a fool to say no.

But those original contestants didn't know that millions of people would watch and the tabloids would sell their stories etc. No-one could have predicted the "celebrity" status that BB led to. I watched the first few and bits of later ones and there has been a very clear change in the kind of people on there! You said yourself you didn't watch the first ones and I don't think you'd say what you just have if you had!
In the first series, the contestants were representative of normal people and acted naturally - now they are all desperate wannabe's with fake personalities. | |
