| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/9/2009 7:32:06 PM | | Never lend on ex $$$$, or for that matter a girlfriend especially if she doesnt make much $$. just take her to court with your evidence and also get her to pay the court cost as well when u win your judgment. PS shouldnt be having sex with an ex either that is prob why she felt u would agree to lend her $$$$, ill bet if you two werent having sex she wouldnt have asked to borrow $$$ from you. Then again $300 is a small price to pay so u dont have nothing to do with the ex anymore and having her screw you around again. If she ever wants you back she isnt worth it for you, there is much better woman for you who will appreciate your kindness and reward you for it for being there for her. Any woman who makes your life miserable for being nice to her doesnt deserve you. | |

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/9/2009 7:54:39 PM | A wise man once said, "If you lend someone 20 bucks and never see them again, consider it money well spent".
My ex wife under-reported to the IRS how much money she took out of her 401K. I too was unaware, when we filed our taxes jointly is when I found out that she owed about $5000 in back taxes. After we divorced I found myself getting letters from the IRS threatening to garnish my wages. I ended up paying off the IRS myself as my ex kept moving from state to state, so even the IRS couldn't find her to garnish her wages. Plus since I had agreed to an installment repayment plan, I don't think they cared to find her since I was paying off that debt. Now that I'm done paying them off I could go after my ex to recoup half of that money from her but to me, it's not worth the effort. She's gone and out of my life, MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!
OP, forget the money, it ain't worth the drama. IMHO

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/9/2009 9:36:28 PM | SUZE ORMAN said to write it off money lent and never recooped, on your taxes as a loss -then list your ex girlfriend as the loss -the IRS can go after her for not reporting this revenue increase on her taxes. -won't help you much, however worth it to have the IRS fuck with her a bit

|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/10/2009 12:59:39 AM | You can do the Suze Orman thing, take her to court, and also chalk it up as a good lesson learned.
Who knows?
In time she may decide to pay you back and try to come crawling back. If she does, lead her on until she pays in full, and then wish her well before you sever all connections to her.

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/10/2009 6:45:19 AM | If $300 is all you ever lose in this lifetime to family/friends/lovers/spouses, you're gettin off d*** cheap. It sucks. I know. But that's life.
You can take her to small claims or one of those TV court shows but, legally, there is nothing is you can do to collect the money owed to you without creating problems for yourself. If you harrass her and get busted, if she throws your bail, will you consider that breaking even?
|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/10/2009 8:03:18 AM | | Write it off. Been there, done that and learnt the hard way. Be glad it's a couple of hundred and not thousands as in my case. | |
|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/10/2009 8:37:28 AM | yep. Not alot you can do except to "let it go".
And, if you do considering lending, consider what the money is for ... is it necessary for basic survival to the borrower??
A couple weeks ago I got suckered, but at least it was for rent ... and wasn't a whole lot. Cheap way to find out one's true character I guess...
"Never a lender nor a borrower be" ... "Don't lend what you can't afford to give away", are phrases we should all get through our heads. S.O.L.

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/10/2009 1:25:02 PM | | My ex owes me over $500 and two and ah half years of my life back. ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/11/2009 3:25:53 PM | A little bit of perspective and the famous TP tough love: Okay, your ex owes you $500 because you handed it over. Your has DOES NOT owe you two and a half years of your life back, because you have spent it with her willingly. Hopefully at some point you will be able to see what this has tought you, becuase, trust me, it does, every single time. | |

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/11/2009 5:00:30 PM | | Shes a horrible human being, take her to court, yes you can politely ask her at her home, lots of luck with that one or write it off.Never loan if you can't lose the money because usually it does not come back.Take her to court, really, think it costs $15 but its her word against yours, unless its in writing,if not in writing, forget it. | |

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/11/2009 9:44:56 PM | I liked what tbuddha said "Never, ever, ever loan a girlfriend money if you ever intend on getting it back...and definitely not to an ex." I would extend this to friends and family as well. -Mike | |

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/13/2009 4:57:43 AM | OP, you paid her a $300.00 get the frick out of your life FEE. You got off cheap! Let her new screw pay for her stuff in the future. Just think about how she rolls, she's a gutter snipe, useless ooze. Be happy she's some other guys problem now, in fact, cross your fingers and hope they get married and make gutter puppies. You're of the hook! Here, lets crack open a beer and celebrate! Cheers brutha!
As far as the 300 bucks, it's smoke, troop! Cut your loses and be grateful you don't have to doink her anymore.

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/13/2009 5:12:13 AM | | One thing I have learned about money. Besides my actual close friends, if you "loan" money or use money towards someone else, you probably will not see it again. If I added up what my x owed me, and the last dousche bag said he would split with me, I could probably go buy a few nice things and pay a couple mortgage payments. Another reason x's are called x's. A) Do not keep having sex with them when you end it. B) Do not fall on the pity wagon and loan them money or buy them things. You are not going to see that money. Consider it gone. I do not understand when people break up, why they cannot just go on with their own lives and stop the tragic train. | |

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/15/2009 6:55:09 PM | look at it this way,
you got off cheap. you paid her 300 dollars , to go the other way when she sees you she is out of your life. oh i saw this on a movie, but it makes sense, forget the 300, you got off cheap.
|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/15/2009 7:06:11 PM | Write her and it off.
It seams like she's using you for what she needs, when she needs it.
Chalk it up as a lesson learned.
|
| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/15/2009 7:25:05 PM | hey there, my advice, certainly no more confrontations, but, wait it out a couple of weeks, no contact, NONE, then text her saying,
thanks for the three hunded dollar lesson in integrity, glad I (you) found out before it was to late,, or say, time to put this to rest, you still owe me and know you ALWAYS will, but if one day you get the chance to pay me back I will appeciate this, and then put it behind you,,

" In a romatic situation, I recommend "giving" over "lending"."
In a romantic situation I recommend ironclad signed and witnessed documentation with adequate penal clauses to discourage any default.

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/15/2009 7:51:26 PM | Thats funny. Squeezing money out of a woman is damn near impossible. When my Ex and I broke up, we calculated that I owed her money even though she stuck me with a pricey lease (and out of the goodness of my heart, I stayed silent). She started out all business like and I went along. As I did a recalculation some months later, it was discovered that I actually overpaid and she owed me money.
OMG, she screamed as if I committed murder! She had to think twice about paying me back, but in the end she did.
I guess you can take her to court just to teach her a lesson or you may just want to move on with your life. Its really up to you to decide whether its worth $300 to relive the horror of seeing your ex again.

| So my Ex owes me money.... Posted: 6/15/2009 8:24:16 PM | Look at it this way....it cost you 300 bucks to find out she is a thief.
