The River Of Life
The old man sits
on the mountaintop
looking at the valley below
he sees the river run through it
its current fierce and strong
heading downstream its
purpose only the old man knows
Many a summer the valley lie
dry with no relief in sight
this time it would be
different because the old man
has sent the river to bring the
valley back to life
As the sun sets over the valley
the river breaks through its banks
spreading over the dry wasteland
feeding its thirst for water
and breathing new life
into its heartland
The river finally runs its course
tomorrow trees will stand where
they never stood before
the river being its life force
Flowers will blossom from rain the
old man has provided along with light
he has planted them in his
image to last forever their
buds will spring eternal life | |

but you ARE my life
and have been since we met
When all hope was lost, you
were there to pick me up
you are my lover and a true friend
no man deserves such luck
If my heart gave out tommorow
i would not regret my life
because i found you
i would feel no pain or sorrow

another day begins
searching for my love
wondering where she's been
I make myself some coffee
and head off to work where
i can focus on others things to do
so many faces pass me by in the street
wonder if one of them is you
A longing inside for a love
like no other that i have known
i know your out here somewhere
waiting for me to come and

Another day goes by with
another night in a empty bed

I lay here quietly not
able to move my limbs
i see the crying faces of
the ones i left behind
they can't see that i'm
still alive within
The memories are
coming back now of
all the people i hurt
like a movie playing
on fast forward
their faces haunt me
am i getting what i deserve?
The pain of what i've done
causes me to cry, i wish
their was i way i could
tell them i'm sorry i guess
it's too late now i sigh
I shout out to my creator
Please lord don't end it
this way, I would like to see
the sunrise and the ocean
and hug my kids just
for one more day
I can't see now my eyes
are blinded by a powerful light
my soul rises as being lifted
by a hand full of powerful might
I hear a voice strong but soothing
it says " Go into the light my
son and visit your past" i enter
the light and i'm surprised to see
all of the people who i lost
in this place at last
My mother puts her arms
around me and smiles
and says "Son it is not your
time yet...go back to life
and straighten things out"
I asked god to have mercy
on you because my faith in
you has no doubts"
My mind goes blank
and heaven begins to fade
I wake up in a sweat
i can feel the morning sun
on my face, my senses are
are alive and in place
I look around the room
and there is no one there
i'll realise it was just a dream
A dream we've all had before
or is it a message from god
crying out to us to listen ? A
message surely that can't be ignored | |
