Bringing back memories
from along time ago
Those memories were
filled with the image of you
Way back when our love was new
It was the summer of 82
We were so young but
our love was true
everyday we spent together
i fell more in love with you
Your dark hair glistening
in the summer's sun
your brown eyes looking into
mine touched my soul, i knew
then you were the one
I thought it was a love
that would last
It only lasted one year
you moved away the distance
was too great i fear
I'll never forget our love
from so long ago
It's memory is etched
in my soul, our love like
the song on the radio still lasts

I look up to the heavens
and i see your plane soar high
becoming a tiny speck in the vast blue sky
that leaves me standing here all
alone, tears gently streaming from my eyes
This morning was so beautiful
when we took a walk on the beach
like so many other morning's together
the surf was cascading at our feet
We looked up to the heavens
a rainbow ran across the sky
A beautiful sight to behold
we held on to each other because we
knew what this day would unfold
You were called to duty
to a land so far away
not knowing whether you'd
come back but knowing
you could'nt stay
As i watch your plane disappear
into the deep blue sky
i find comfort in one thing and
that is knowing that like the sky above
whatever happens our love will never die | |

the memories come back carried by the wind
I realize i am still longing for you and
how things should have been
We spent a whole summer together
laughing and swimming in the surf
I knew how i felt about you then
I just did'nt want to chance ruining
a friendship that had much worth
We always stop for ice cream on
the boardwalk by the beach
i always had the mint chocolate
you preferred the peach
There was'nt a day that summer
that we did'nt hold hands
running down the beach
making sand castles in the sands
Your golden hair flowing in the
summer's breeze
i don't think you ever knew
how much your beauty brought me
to my knees
Every summer the memories
always get stronger and never slack
I should have never let you go that summer
without telling you that for many year s
i will long to have you back | |

My emotions bleed
Soaking through my summer memories
The grass is turning such an envious shade of green
Contrasting with the indian paintbrush colored sky
There is something magical
In the evenings quiet graces
As the moon shines down from midnight skies
in ghostly silver traces
My dreams trip over memories of you when Im asleep
And the people ive known and broken promises
They couldnt keep
Your eyes light up the darkness
of my old childhood curiosities
And your heart sings to me
With the softness of an irish lullabye
Echoing wistfully through the grassy mountain meadow
Carried on wings of a butterfly
I will face my future
Gracefully,bravely
With peace and tranquility
And reach down to brush the sand away from my childhood skinned knees
As my heart beats in perfect synchronicity
In time with the breeze
If only we could see
What magic lies ahead
Beyond the box full of memories
Weve tucked under our beds....
I wrote this poem awhile ago for someone I miss very much.Its also a poem of hope and inspiration.Anyway,Love this thread....feel free to post in mine anytime,Kat  | |

I grab my mirror and begin to stare,
Letting my mind wander to somewhere,
Looking at the reflection of me,
Dreaming of where I would rather be,
I see myself in a castle that would be mine,
Where I would wear clothes that are rather fine,
Only the best silks and robes I would wear,
That would make everyone stop to stare,
I would also wear a crown of gold upon my head,
That would contain rubies of the deepest red,
Upon my wrist I wear a bracelet of sapphires and gold,
That was passed to me which never shall be sold,
I rule this castle alone since my king has died,
The courters I shoo off no matter how hard they tried,
They don't want me they want my land and riches,
That always leaves me up in stitches,
I am the queen and I do have my own choice,
It's about time I raise my voice,
With the courters gone I slam the castle door,
And I tell the guards no more, no more,
I shall rule this castle alone!
I love ur thread chuck, u so rock!!, keep up the writing hun. Hope you enjoy this one.
