Posted: 6/15/2009 11:18:29 PM | I have met a few guys off here, usually mid day and usually for a coffee. Some have been ok just not my type once we have had the coffee and gone our seperate ways. So I would say some of the men on here are interested in meeting people and not just emailing them into submission. But a lot of them are also just interested in random sexual encounters/webcam crap with any old knacker and that is their choice, but it isnt mine.
I never ever reply to initial messages about sex, web cam ect I am not interested in meeting or dating an ameoba.
Regarding there being a top 5% of good looking guys, what I find attractive someone else wont and vice versa, I never send messages to anyone or very rarely and I dont add favourtites at all. Looks are superficial.
Meeting people this way is just another avenue to be explored other then the pubs and clubs on a busy weekend. Its not to be taken so seriously as the majority of the people on here are just here to waste a bit of time between Eastenders and Sexcetera .
There are some nice people on here but it gets harder to sort the wheat from the chaff. | |

A lot of the people on here would seem to waste a huge chunk of their time on this site. And many women have been here for years. These are not necessarily the unattractive women who have been left by the wayside. Many women use this site and others not for dating but for attention-seeking. It has become a social club, a venue where they just hang out. I'm not saying thats a bad thing. But i always thought the purpose of a dating site was to find to romance, not fritter your life away on the forums with no other intention. | |

Yes, you're right.
But the "top 5%" have more women giving them 10/10 than the "bottom 5%". Therefore the "top 5%" have less work to do, because more women are interested in them.
Personally, my photos are in 70-80% range ( as judged by hotornot, 7-8 score.). Which means I get some interest, some emails sent to me and some women wanting to meet me in real life. But I'd hate to be any lower than that. | |

However it does give opportunity to find someone who you will unlikely ever meet in any other way. Its like a big night club. Some people chase and others wait. The better looking people are less likely to have to chase. The more friendlier you are the more likely you will find some one here or anywhere.
If any fella is not having a date then they are not putting enough effort in. For me, its all about reassurance that you are not some murderous, druggy monster and then striking up a message relationship with an aim to meet. Genuine people will find genuine people eventually in the shake down. Yes there are the attention seekers but they also exist in clubs. Men and Women.
Its easy to get negative about it but stick at it and something will happen. Love walks in mysterious ways. | |

Posted: 6/20/2009 11:25:56 AM | No never had any luck on this site, I did meet one woman in February who lives just down the road from me but she was looking for that fantasy sex god and had other dates lined up for later in the week. The reality is, if there are loads more guys than women here then of course women here are more likely to go on many more dates than the men are. I'm lucky just to have met that woman I met and I have been here for a year! The truth is most guys will get nothing from this site. Women have more choices to make here and the men appear desperate because of the unbalanced sex ratio.

Posted: 6/20/2009 11:50:33 AM | I think that maybe part of the problem is that women on here may very well have young children and are therefore not able to just drop everything at the drop of a hat to go for a date......I'm not saying thatsome of you guys don't have children who live wit them but it is statistically more likely to be the women. For me, tis site has been great to sit and chat to people of a night time and see if we click on here and then arrange to meet when I and they can. Trouble is, with limited time, some people do not appreciate that it might not be straight away....not that I'm not interested, just the practicalities of it and not wanting to have my children meet a sucession of different guys.
I've been very lucky to have met some great guys on here, some of whom havent interested me romantically, some who make me laugh and some who make me go WOOP WOOP MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM | |

I got good responses to my messages and I had numerous first messages from women. I met some really cool people and met a couple of women who I dated for a few months and I am still friends with... I didn't meet the love of my life, but I can't blame that on anyone/anything except fate.
Now I am in Bridlington which is much, much smaller than Liverpool and I get barely any messages from women. I have even stopped messaging people because everyone who appears on my search within 25 miles are the exact same people I get every single time I look.
So I think a lot of it is to do with location. | |

definitely keep it realistic. If you're mainly sending messages to much younger or very attractive women they are probably being innundated with messages from similar men... if you're bothered by rejection that might not be the best starting point.
I get lots of messages from men who are a lot older than me. I'm not agesist at all and haven't specified an age limit because I like to hear from all sorts of people but realistically guys, men older than my dad just don't do it for me for anything more than chat... and sadly there are only so many men I can chat to before it starts to become a chore.

I have also noticed that many guys seem to overestimate their attractiveness, at least they must do or why do they insist on messaging women who are clearly much more attractive than them?
Guys if you are not getting the responses you want then consider lowering your standards, your aim may well be too high. | |

I'm on here because it's free, entertaining, and there's always the (slim) possibility of meeting someone on here that may turn into a relationship. I'm definatley not paying money to go on a premium dating website to get rejected pmsl 
I think the people who get disheartened with online dating do so because they are using it as their primary avenue to find a partner. There are many ponds out the to go fishing in, and part of the fun is that you never know where you might meet your next significant other...
