"Only a country knows it's own country. Only a culture knows it's own culture."
Wow - talk about narrow minded.
Again - people no matter what their culture all share the same goals - get food, find shelter, find a mate, reproduce. While these goals are often shaped by a variety of factors, but can include such things as geographical isolation and abundance of resources, because these goals are all shared universally - they are all understood by members of every culture. Thus, as stated previously, when given a road map it is not hard to understand another culture. Diplomats, business men, social cultural anthropologists, linguists, and many other types of people who don't belong to that cultural group often become very knowledgeable about the cultures that they are interested in. Again, as stated previously, because they are outsiders they will be invited to do activities that members of that cultural group wouldn't be able to do as they are free of ritual tabboos, and as such, can come to an even greater understanding of said culture.
Now as to what I said about Japan and China being considered polynesian it was sarcasm in regards to how you were linking the Philippines and Hawaii into the same ethnic group despite not having shared genetic markers and not being even remotely close to the geographic location in question. Why madagascar then? Well the east coast was settled by polynesians sometime ago and we know this due to genetic testing....

To say that the Philippinos have no relationship with Polynesians is like saying that a Korean has no geneological history with a Chinese person.
Polynesians and Philippinos are a subset of the Austronesian peoples, which includes places like FIJI, New Zealand, Indonesia and, of course, the Philippeans. While the Polynesians were more relegated to a triangular 1000 island region of Oceania and the Philippeans more on the Malay Archipelago, they are still apart of the same geneology of man called Malayo-Polynesians.
And of course, there is a surprisingly large Chinese, Indian, Korean and Spanish population there (or at least the last time I was there), but of course they are a small portion of the population. | |

I wonder how many of those are Asian Immigrants or Asian Illegal Aliens. I would say that many of those working in message parlors or as prostitutes were apart of the human sex slave trade that is rampant.
And for most Asians, success may not fall on them, but if their children succeed in life, that is considered a successful life for many 1st generation Oriental people. | |

They appreciate romance. They know how to treat their men. They honor their men, not treat them like house pets, bank machines, or fashion accessories. (I am amazed at how some American women tend to bash men and belittle them--them wonder why they won't commit to a relationship). And yes, they do age quite nicely. And real men will treat them like queens.
I myself LOVE Asian women. For instance, Yunjin Kim (she pays Sun--the Korean woman--on the TV show "Lost") is one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the TV screen.
I also LOVE Hispanic women--for the same reasons I stated above. | |

Asian women were always much more understanding than most American women. And Asian girls look HOT! While the women in the U.S. start getting fat and unattractive in big numbers, Asian women barely look over thirty years old and are beautiful even after they're 60!

Let's get to the point here, I will answer the damn question! And of course, this is my opinion; most Asian families have become more Americanized/modernized and dating out of race is more acceptable now a days. And yes, yes, I know you want to hear it, sometimes it's sheer curiousity.
Being submissive has nothing to do with race. Maybe the A sian girl you were with was, but like anyone, she does not represent all Asian women or women in general for that matter. | |

My soon to be wife is a natural born Filippina and of all the women I have both known and been involved with, she is the brightest light of my life. I can't for the life of me picture any part of my life without her. No, she is not a so called submissive servent. In fact, I consider her both my interlectual and everyday life equal and I'm proud to treat her as such as she is the love of my life. Gosh, you guys are still living in the 60s? Yellow-fever this term came from the WWII after soldiers caught with Yellow fever (physically, not orally).
Similarily the 'melting pot' was replace by the 'salad bowl.' Just in case you folks out there still don't know!!!

If you wanted to rely on languages, then it would be equivalent to me saying that the inhabitants of North and South America, along with europe are all mongolian or related to central asia. | |

Thank you that means a lot. We talked it over and we both decided that we will live in Bacolod. My Soc Sec will go 5x better there than here. Here, I can't afford rent. There, we can own a house! There is a tenative move date of believe it or not, 9/11. This way, she can be with her family also. Then the fun begins: learning ilongo hehe.

The whole American culture has lost a lot of what we once stood for and we no longer hold our fellow Americans to a higher standard. Many Americans have become arrougant and feel they deserve the best of everything including mates. I may live in the 20 th century but would prefer to live in an earlier time when values were more important than material things and looks. We as humans need to try to reverse this downtrend before it is too late. | |
