One thing I don't understand is... why do people have some need to believe that you want someone when you really don't. Even if I did say "Oh hell, I loooove asian women, but they don't like brothas. Waaah waaah!".... what would that do for you and why exactly would you get off on that?
I find it odd, so maybe you can help me here.
Why? Because you're here, that's why. If you say you're not attracted to whatever then you would've moved on and wouldn't waste a moment adding your two cents....But keep in mind brother sparda this is an internet forum and that means only one thing: Anything goes! | |

It actually took my ex's parents a while to come to grips with the fact that I was white. When she first wrote to her mother and said "I met a man, and I'm getting married", her mother assumed I was either native Chinese or an ABC. When she sent my picture home, her mother not only stared at it for a long time... but also initially tried to talk her daughter out of it because she was concerned that, for lack of a translation, we weren't "compatible". There's apparently still a belief in China that white men are "different" somehow, and that having sex is like, I dunno, an AC adapter with a DC plug. She never did stop laughing long enough to fully explain what her mother's concerns were.
What if she married a black man? Hell will be raised! That's because they are on the bottom of the racial hierarchy.
In China, yes - but not in Japan. Black men are considered very exotic over there. I saw a picture a while back of a black celebrity (I forget who, unfortunately) who married a half-black, half Japanese woman. All I could say about her is... DAAAAMN!
There are plenty of people in the far east (and here, too) who would condemn their daughter for dating a white male. The more traditional Asians will definitely look down on it, and my ex used to tell me that although she mentioned in her blog that she was married, she never said that I was caucasian because she'd get "hate mail" from Chinese men. If the dirty looks and racial slurs I got when I was over there are any indication, then what she said wouldn't surprise me at all.
Do Internet research about this topic. You'll gain a lot of insight in the dynamics at hand.

I have to disagree John. My experience is not necessarily reflective of the general population of course. But I had serious relationships with two Asian women. On both occasions their families would have been happier if I had been Asian too. The same principle also held true for other races and nationalities I dated. People's parents seem to prefer that they stick to their own.
Edit: That said, the Asian women I dated did seem more willing to date a white male American than the Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Black or Hispanic women I have come across. I can't explain the paradox except to say that perhaps is a generational issue. | |

I am Asian.
To ladies of all races, white, black, asian or what have you. We are all people of all nation and we should be accorded and treated with the highest respect. All ladies are beautiful in their own right. People are God's gift to be unwrapped, loved, care, appreciated by their loved ones and others too.
I guess why white man look for Asian its just part of the dating scene. People have choices and preference in life.
I am chinese, if you date a respected,educated chinese. You will get be treated like a king with mutual love, care, tenderness, passionate, loveable. Asian are a faithful lot when come to love and relationship. W e dont fool around with men once we are taken and committed to a one to one relationship. We are always very royal, traditional family values, love, family, kids. It will be a one to one relationship till death do us apart.
White and black ladies are beauties in their own right. We have to have mutual love and mutual respect of a ladies in respective of what race they come from.
Good luck to all the ladies up here. I love all of you irrespective of your shapes, sizes. People come in all shape and sizes to be unwrapped and discovered by their loved ones. It makes life more fun and interesting too. Cheers and be happy dont worry, enjoy and celebrate life. Sh!t, they can have 'em. From what I can tell, most asian women ain't got no love for black men anyway. Which is cool because I'm not really attracted to asian women in a general sense (though there are some nice looking ones here and there), so it works out.
This is most likely a cultural barrier thing that will ease with time...
ie. Many people in China especially in the country side, have never seen a average white person... what they do see is the blond bikini model on a Can of food...
And as for Blacks, (I don't know if its gotten any better now) when I was a kid, Black people more or less implied Africans (as in African Tribes), the term we used would be translated as Earth People. People who are not modernized / living in tribes / living off of the earth's resources directly etc... Yes, its a little condecending and racist, but mostly it is because at that time there is definate lack of communication and information to show people otherwise. I would have never imagined there being anything other than White people in Europe and Americas when I was a child.
Point: Asians in the US/UK etc... 1) May not find blacks attractive if they are first generation, and have some of the bais mentalities. 2) Perseve cultural stereotypes as truths, like crime, drugs, unfaithfulness etc... 3) Are not Culturally adapted to see black as being beautiful (See my long post on page 62)

Wonkabar, you may be thinking about Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons. She was a model at one point and is the owner of Baby Phat designer clothes.
While it may not be seen as much Asian women do date and marry Black men because I have a few friends who are Asian that married Black men.
As for seeing more Causcasian men dating Asian women this is not something to new to my eyes and maybe it's because I'm mixed myself thereby spent much of my time around people who mix in with other groups just fine.

Black men are perceived as lousy husbands, unreliable providers, not family-oriented enough to be trusted with a daughter's hand, and too screwed up to raise (grand)children, and thus not worth the time. That was a great post, thank you. You've earned my respect. My love is a Filipina and she was very choosy on who she wanted. Money wise I have little but she knows that no other human on this earth will love her more than I (not counting her loving family of course). She has totally uncompromised family values and loyalty and 110% love to give me just as I give to her. Our love grows stronger everyday. This is an angel who I will still be tasting her loving kisses 50 yrs from now God willing we are both still alive. Age and race does not matter. The only ones who should worry about it are the 2 involved. There was a saying they had when I was in the Air Force. Lead, Follow, or get out of the way. If you support them, join them. If you don't, stay out of their way.

I do not know about you personally but your generalization is easily falsifiable. Women are treated as property in some parts of rural China, in poorer Thailand and in a variety of other regions. Where the economy is much better and the laws permit the problem of women divorcing their husbands to "move up" is widespread. Online the number of Filipinas using cyber prostitution as a form of employment is phenomenal. My ex is Chinese, she left me for a boyfriend after 12 years of marriage and our daughter. They are now separated after she had his son. When I have traveled in Asia, I have been propositioned by married women. Actions speak louder than words and by actions Asian women are not uniquely more moral than any other group of women. Nor are they less moral. I hope your own commitment is as you say, but making stereotypical assertions when one can check the facts won't fly. | |
