We all have our preferences in everything, from type of food, furniture, music and especially what we see in a mate. Being African-American it's hard because I too find that Asian women and Hispanic women are most attractive. Thats not saying that there aren't any attractive American women, just that I tend to be more drawn to women of Asian or Hispanic origin. Unfortunately, very few Asian or Hispanic women are drawn to Afro-American men, which is most likely why I'm still single. Most likely I will probably stay single unless I retire to a foreign country where these women are more prevalent, which I have strongly been considering lately. | |

She did bring up a very valid question (that will no doubt be avoided like the plague). Why would an Asian woman reject a sound minded Asian man for some random White man? She gave a counter testimony of at least one Asian man to the normal negative one's on this thread. Notice RiverRun'sThruit's post. He just 'has' to do the opposite, and emphasize chauvinism in S-O-M-E Asian men. As if there wasn't an equal amount of chauvinism within the White male community. Talk about propaganda! | |

But even still, you're running into the problem of Americanization. Didn't you state that Asian American women tend to have a chip on their shoulder? And you've reduced your preference to 'foreign' Asian women because of this?
Don't mean to sound bleak, but feminism is rising among minority women, Asian women no exception. Perhaps even outdoing White women, as noted once by a French feminist activist. Feminism is something I've never felt too positive about, and no doubt it's partaken in problems involving family life, etc. But, I'm beginning to see more of a positive side to it. I also think some of these 'other' individuals who bark the loudest about Asian women, will be the first to 'bash' them once they realize they're not the submissive tools they think they are. If they shamelessly bash White women (and Black and Hispanic in some cases), what makes one think they won't take it to Asian women once they get jilted or have 5 or 6 bad experiences? | |

Well, he's clearly an idealistic retard for a) speaking as though there's a single unifying "Asian" culture for all Asians, and b) ignoring the fact that any cultural difference, and any such "Asian chauvinism" that comes with it, is probably going to be completely white-washed over anyway, more so after each successive generation of being in America.
But in all frankness, I'd say that white guys as it stands right now have a pretty decent shot at getting Asian women. Like I said, we live in a pretty white-washed country overall, and Asian women and women in general are wont to buy into societal ideas of whats attractive and desirable. No, Jet Li movies and Jackie Chan in Rush Hour don't help. That is, they'll have a shot if white guys don't manage to screw it up by displaying sheer stupidity and immaturity. Yes, I did. Truth be told I haven't met any Americanized Asians that have the same kind of entitlement complex Caucasian women seem to have, although I do occasionally run across their profiles here. Worst of both worlds, so I pass. Nah, the chip I speak of is the "you only like me because I'm Asian," chip. Where the moment you say "hi" to her she snaps "I'm not going to be your Sailor Moon fetish, otaku boy!".
While I can kiiiiinda see where the second one comes from, I still don't like being slapped with it when I'm not the one what's done anything - and it's a chip you can overcome... by proving it's not her pretty eyes or your love for House of Flying Daggers that drew you to her. Feminism, on the other hand, teaches women that men are "the enemy" and are not to be catered to - where every relationship is a struggle for dominance where the women must win or else she's being "oppressed" - which makes for miserable men... but who cares what THEY think, they just can't handle a "strong and independent" woman.
Yes, I know about the rise of "feminism" in other parts of the world. My ex was definitely one of them, as were most of the women she knew. The difference is, they didn't hate men, didn't pre-judge them, and accepted them as they were. My ex's attitude was, "this is the way things are. I can either work with it, and we can both win, or I can fight it, and we can both lose." I never once heard the kind of disparaging remarks come from her, or any of her friends, that I see on these forums on a daily basis. Culture does shape people - and given my experience on both sides of the fence, I'll stick with the imports. At least they smile when they see me, and pay me the occasional compliment.
And any valid point notaprincess had went right out the window when she started raving about Asiaphiles and pedophiles being lumped into the same camp. Oh, and what the guy above me said. | |

You no doubt have that. However, if you remove the negatives, it's initial intent is positive. One of the positives in regards to Asian, and minority feminists, is that they tend to be ethnically conscious as opposed to just gender conscious. An Asian female feminist in general will be more apt to fight against ethnic problems for both males as well as females of their race/ethnicity. Generally more so than the Asian women who concedes to being a token newscaster for the sole purpose of self prosperity. I'm sure there's exceptions no doubt, but this seems to be the general trend. | |
