Anyway, your last question gets at the HIDDEN role of culture in an individual's preferences.
People often believe that "their choice is their own."

Posted: 8/22/2007 8:45:51 AM | You have to take the bad with the good. The racial gender that will receive the highest amount of praise will usually receive a proportionate amount of critique. Actually, on this thread, the ratio rates incredibly high for the praises of Asian women.
Basically, for some, this thread has been utilized as a promotional gimmick. I don't buy into the racial morality that some claim to have. Some of the Asian women who get upset over critique, at the same time will have absolutely no problem if someone were to slam, say, Black women on this thread. I can't imagine Steve even noticing a different racial gender being slammed, because every single post he makes is about his Filipina. So the only post he will notice is if it contains the word "Filipina".
So when a critique comes along, the 20-1% ratio of praises vs. critique in favor of praises will mean nothing for the Asian woman who sees this thread as a means of self-advertisement. | |

Lucilou: Why are you asking Caucasian men not to speak their minds? Do you honestly think every White man should find Asian women attractive? You sure hold yourself to a different standard, it's alright for you to promote Asian women in the best light, but on the same token not allowing men like myself to express our discontent for Asian women. You are neither wise or educated as you so freely promote yourself to be. Sure everyone has a preference, but your only preference is for Caucasian men to find you and your kind attractive. My biggest problem with the Asian women on this forum is plain, and simple. Degrading White women as a mean to promote yourself is a big no no.

This is the kind of response you read on this thread. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
Look at how many Asian (women) are on this site. Few. They mostly go to an 'All-Asian' site unless they live in a cultural and ethnically diverse area. The others are cosmopolitan or even more likely, they live in an area with a high concentration of Caucasian and other ethnic groups that are not necessarily Caucasian but the Asian population is small. Those are the facts and everyone responding with false assertions make themselves look silly. I can safely say that from what I've seen, many Asian women either only assimilate very gradually or if they incorporate western culture, go as badly with it as possible. In other words, they espouse the worst values of it along with women of other ethnicities. Thus, few differences. You go to any large metro city and you notice Asian women with brand name clothing, bad attitudes you can just see in their facial expressions and they usually only go with men who have money regardless of whether they have any themselves (they probably do, anyway). These may be Caucasian or Asian but they aren't choosing because one group is 'nicer' than the other. Think of the 'S' words. | |

Posted: 8/23/2007 9:05:13 PM | With a particular regard to the individuals attacking each other on spelling, etcetera, please be aware that the poster issuing the most recent apology was in all likelihood correct, and it is without doubt that each of you should be better prepared for writing any item in a public forum, in order to avoid the embarrassment you are now experiencing due to your combined ignorance. Surely speaking for many, possibly most, participants or readers of this forum, I can say that as long as the idea is brought forth in an understandable manner, the form in which it was carried will be overlooked or forgiven.
While some refuse to accept it, race is a part of everyday life. Prejudices are also a part of everyday life. While a perfect world has no such boundaries or limitations, the human race certainly does. And if you can honestly tell us that you have zero prejudices, I'll respectfully say you must be mistaken. If you see 15 white kids hanging out on the corner at the light or stop sign, do you think anything of it? What if they were black? What if they were all clean-cut? What if they were all in hip-hop type clothing?
How about someone from a different country, state, or country? Do you truly believe that you are equals on every front? What about someone from a different school; are they as qualified as one with a diploma from your alma mater? Do you truly see someone whose educational, social and economic background is fifty percent under yours as a true equal, with no pre-conceived notions of who they might be, and how they might act?
Believe it when I tell you I am a high-school dropout. Yesterday I was asked by a friend to sit in for her on her college entrance exam. She's decided to go back to school, and is concerned about her retention of grammar, punctuation, spelling and structure. She happens to be of Asian descent, and, by gosh, it's noticeable. It seems that she has no specific preference for race, nor do the friends with whom she's discussed this issue. She tells me that she has dated a few white guys, a middle-eastern fellow, and an Hispanic. By and large, her dating has been with Asian guys. She tells me it does entirely depend on the person, but she also said that Asian guys were easier to date. Culture did play a small part, while availability (physical location / diverseness of population) was another, slightly more important factor. Is she "Americanized"? By all visible means, yes. She is a first-generation American, coming to the US when she was still in elementary school, and her English is certainly different from mine, all localized accents aside. She was reared with values traditional to her family and the area from whence they originated, with really only small differences from a "typical" American family. She was unsure if white men seemed to hit on her more than any other group, while she was sure that she was approached by Asian men more often than all others. Hmmm.
Now that I've become more interested in this topic, I'm asking everyone I can find to give me their opinions on this matter. Perhaps I'll have more to contribute later. | |

Black women tend to have hot tempers (I know) and big butts. White women are very sex driven, and that is a major reason they bed black guys...size, but the relationships fail from male aggression. I stayed away from asian women mainly because of the culture thing, family acceptance is a problem. You are "tolerated". Too much violence in the black culture. This does not mean there are not exceptions. Of course. I have dated more years than most here, including Europeans. German women tend to be domineering, clever, hard working. Blondes are not stupid but portrayed that way by jealous females. Redheads hot at sex, true, tempermental...true. Asian women make great dance partners (I ballroom dance), light on their feet and quick. In general, white women have become too bullish, too loose, too aggressive and men don't like it, except for the easy sex. Men also are fed up with the barrage of commercials portraying men as morons and incompetents. It is NOT funny anymore! Experience is the great teacher, and we all are not the same, but entitled to equality. | |

Posted: 8/24/2007 5:05:34 AM | I assume most of the posts are from Americans, who refer to Hispanic meaning Puerto Rican and Mexican and refer to Asian meaning Chinese and Malayan. We in the UK refer to Spanish as Spanish as we have no Mexicans (sadly) and no problem at all IF Spanish wish to live here but they DO NOT and for very good reasons, who on earth would swap SPAIN for Britain, only a fool. As for Malayan we sinply say MALAYAN and Indians are that Chinese are Chinese not Asian, but the Political Correctness brigade the mad tiny minded people in thei country would have us call all immigrants from the third world by one name, which to me is not right to them.
I would give anything to have an INDIAN or SPANISH lady friend, but then I am BRITISH and they would not wish to LOWER themselves to go out with me a BRIT. (until they got to know me and my social status). It has become well known to Indian and Other middle class immigrtants that we men and women in Britain have not got the poisem, the dress sense and the manners that theyhave so the shoe is on the other foot, many of us would love a lovely Indian lady friend, nice dress sense lovely hair no hangups about sex and mosyt of all socially most polite with impeccable manners. Ihave never ever seen an Indian lady on our British dating sites and only once a Spanaish lady whom I met but I was not suitable for her. Juts look at the comparison, we Brits can only speak ONE language our own and then most of us speak it VERY BADLY, Indians and most others who have moved here speak more than two languages and even better educated, so the myth of British doing them a favour if we go out with them is rubbish , I would be delighted to meet and date a lady with nice skin tones nice dress sense and poise which of course rules out most Brits. I knew three different Indian ladies as friends and my goodness at their age they looked so much younger and livelier than Brits of the same age and what manners... | |

uhhh..I think you may be confusing 'race' with 'culture'.
these things are not bred in the DNA, but are the rsult of the environment in which one is raised, and normative cutural influences.
ethnically "asian" women raised in the US , esp. 3rd or 4th generation, are as "American" as any 'white' woman raised in the USA maybe more so if the white woman was an immigrant or 2nd-generation..
etc., etc... raise a black person in Germany and see how "german" they come across.. | |
