Posted: 10/14/2009 3:38:21 PM | I came across an ex of mine on here. I sent her a polite message wishing her a happy new year, nothing more. She replied with what sounded almost like a cut and paste reply that went along the lines of "Thank you for your message but you are really not my type

You might be a little curious, but with some you might be happy to say 'hello, how are you, good luck' briefly, others you might immediately block and go recover with a stiff drink!
The fact that they're on here rather than anywhere else, would only cause me a problem if I knew them not to be single, but that would be the case with anyone I knew not to be single.
Again, that has to be weighed up on the specific circumstances at the time. You can keep schtum, tell their partner or warn them. It's only cropped up with me once, it was an ex and he'd cheated on me to see his current partner. I had no way of contacting him, he had blocked me everywhere when he realised I'd found him out, I thought about staying quiet, but somehow seeing having seen how much his partner was into him I couldn't.
She thanked me and as far as I know they're still together and I've not seen him pretending to be single since. It was a difficult decision though as I wasn't sure how much of my motivation was down to spite... I'm just glad it worked out for the best! | |

I haven't yet seen any exes here yet...but you never know..!
If they didn't post a photo, you probably wouldn't realise it was them. That could be a little awkward if you then arrange to meet.
Anyone know if there's a witless protection programme to help you hide from psycho ex-partners?  | |

I'd ask for their help in sifting thru the messages I get as they know what flicks my switch romantically.
I'd offer to return the favour and help them sift thru profiles for possible matches. It's easy to tell why you weren't compatible in hindsight and I've never gone out with a daffy. (It's probably my own lack of intellect that has been my romantic downfall lol!)
