My opinion on that is that there are still lots of decent guys out there even though he is not to be counted among them. There are, after all, about three and a half billion guys in the world. One doofus doesn't count for much among such a large number. | |

Are you sure they're "men"? Now I'm sure a lot of women's definitions of a "real man" would not include: a) sending vulgar e-mails to women, or b) showing you their schlong on their webcam.
Actually, all a guy would have to do to look at online dating from a woman's perspective would be to create a fake profile of a woman in a swimsuit or bikini or showing some cleavage and wait for all the e-mails from horny guys to start pouring in. That means taking responsibility for one's own actions. It also means responsibility for one's own expectations. If someone is having trouble finding someone "decent," well, maybe they're falling over their own expectations. That applies to both men and women.

I hear ya. The true man won't get the same attention, because he probably has calloused hands, a few scars, isn't babyface smooth all of the time, doesn't alway fit in with the latest hairstyles and clothing. He know how to treat a woman, but they're not used to it, so they run back to what they know. True gentlemen are concidered pushovers in todays world. I can do everything that a hopeless romantic would want, and still be willing to trade blows for her. Unforunately, since I won't wear something that I don't like just to fit in, or make a lot of money, I'm often overlooked for someone who does, or atleast at like he does. | |

The type of man I'm used to has calloused hands, a few scars, I love a dark shadow, fishes, hunts etc. I grew up with those men, yet all I get all rich salesmen because I'm blond and thin and not what the average guy wants. I act like what they want, but I don't look like what they want. The men I grew up with were strong men, but are also able to cry. I've had VERY good men in my life and they have created a very high standard for me (this means in how they treat people, not how much $ they make). Plus, not only were they decent, but they were good looking too. And these decent men in my life? They made good enough money to support their family. No big extras, but you get what I'm saying. I cannot relate to rich salesmen, I don't come from there.
But yes, if I go to an event, I want him to be able to dress properly - not show up in some jogging pants - common sense. And besides, each woman has their own individual taste.
I've discovered that men in general are more easy-going than women. Women have their faults and men have their faults.
Maybe you guys are just as guilty of picking the wrong women as women are at picking the wrong men. | |

We are probably just as bad about picking the wrong women. I've been looking for awhile now, and can't find any that meet my standards, because I'm being much more picky this time around. Those that appear to aren't interested in me, so its been tough. I'm sure will will turn up when I least expect it though | |

I understand that all too well! Recently I watched "The Irony of Fate" (or "Enjoy Your Bath!") and that was a good Russian movie. For those who haven't seen it. The main guy is about to get married on New Year's Day. The evening before, he meets his friends at a bathhouse. They get drunk and go to the airport and drink some more. They forget who's really supposed to be taking the flight to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), so the main guy gets pushed onto the plane. Arriving in Leningrad, he has a taxi take him to his home address, only it's in Leningrad instead of Moscow.
