Better question, why do white suburban boys speak Ebonics when they aren't often exposed to black people?
This is a question that defies logic. Ask this one. It's like they think turning their hats backwards gives them black super powers. (B-ball, breakdancing, super jumping, huge c*ock powers.)
It's cause they wanna be down They think it makes them cooler. Since it's all over T.V., they emulate that, not people they are exposed to.

What a bunch of horse cr@p! I don't give a damn who you want to date, it's your life!
And who cares if you're a racist or not? So what! It's not a crime....yet! I'm sure some one would like to make it a crime, probably a "minority" or some so-called "do-gooder" who would rather shut everyone up than inherit the freedoms our forefathers gave their lives for us to have....

While we're certainly free to be attracted to whom we choose and to act on those choices and preferences, (because that's not racism) I have no clue what this ^^^^ actually is.
But yeah, those damn "do-gooders" ought not to get their noses out of joint, otherwise, they might just have something to say about ethnic cleansing, mass deportation, marginalization, nationalism, democracy, intolerance, hate crimes, ethnopolitical purity, and genocide.

Tell them to fekk off! Would these be the same forefathers that were slave owners? Ah yes, they definitely were the bastians of freedom.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 9:53:23 AM | Better question, why do white suburban boys speak Ebonics when they aren't often exposed to black people?
ebonics? that's an old term already....almost smacks of prejudice in it's own right.
It's a cross cultural society......that's all. I mean...when I was young...funk was funk...it was real funk...not what passes for 'funk' today. And, yeah, it was introduced by the black culture.
Then crossover shIt just happens...I mean...Check out the Average White band...some of the funkiest Caucasian cats on the planet. are they white boys 'trapped ' in black men's bodies....No F. Way. They are musicians, who feel a groove.
Rap..same thing....but look at Eminem....lily white....but he doesn't care, nor do his fans.
Vanilla Ice....I'm not gonna talk about that dude...that was a majorly huge mistake by 'God' hahahaha
Of course, everybody wants to be 'down' as Ameera says....but not everyone can pull it off. It's like...ya either are...or ya ain't....ai'ght??? has nothin to do with being Colorstruck.
prejudice and hate...does it still exist, yeah, it does. I'm not hypothesizing...I live in the Deep South. Is it Ugly..yeah, it is.
The only fact that is fact...is that racism and prejudice is , and was perpetrated mostly by white people...over the centuries. Why argue with fact...jack !!!
but, the universe has a whacky sense of humor, know what I mean....another 200 years....y'all gonna be lucky to see any more fat, white, suspender wearin, rednecked bastarrds walkin' outta Wal Mart....
And, as Martha would say..."That's a good thing"

This comment alone drops the IQ in this thread by 25 to 30 points.
Personally I think that people who put comments on their profile like that (or start threads like this) are looking for somebody to say something. Since almost nobody is going to ask your opinions of other races, why would you have to tell them on a dating profile?
I return to my earlier statement: Since the DNA of everybody in this country is so mixed and there are so many people that can "pass" for being a member of another ethnic or "racial" group, isn't putting your dislike for another group on your profile just a sign stating that you are very unintelligent? Or at least unlearned as to how evolution and DNA work? Honestly,I perused a number of profiles from women stating they either would only date "White" men...or wouldn't date "Black" ones...I've found that I wouldn't date most of them on looks alone. And even if I got past the looks, the fact that they have a mindset that reflects the values of 50+ years ago would them undesirable, even as co-workers.
Finally, in a touch of irony, most of the bigots on here that would put something in their profiles like this, find if they have children, that those children almost never share their views...and sometimes even date and marry minorities. So for prejudiced older women...keep up the good work...and let me know when your daughter gets to the legal age of the state in which you live. If she isn't already....

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 9:58:58 AM | ^^^actually I find nothing wrong if people do not want to date a certain race. I think we are all getting caught up in the wording of things.
For all you know, these women might have dated different races in the past, and discovered it's not their cup of tea. Same goes for a black guy who once dated a white woman, and discovers he prefers a black woman better for his MATE, but has plenty of white friends. I don't think that's racist.
We all know how influeced many of us were by our parents.
Whenever I read these threads, I always think about my friend that I had before elementary, in high school and a bit beyond. We used to go around the school calling each other racist names just to get a rise out of the elders. All that mattered was our friendship and the fact that we always had a great time laughing uncontrollaby, had the same taste in music and enjoyed Gilligan's Island LMAO! I believe she also came from a Jehovah Witness family too - just to make it even more interesting!
|
| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 10:07:40 AM | ^^^^ And I do find something wrong with it because it's being intellectually lazy. If somebody has a Black or Latino or Asian grandparent...or a biracial parent... and they put down "White" on their profile...does that make them "White?" And since, some people's from Central Asia and all Semites are classified as "White" under the census, would this person date somebody w/ dark hair, eyes and an olive or light tan complexion?
Look, I think that "Black" women that put down that they will only date Black men, are bigoted....and frankly, given the limited number of "Black" men and the fierce competition for those men, somewhat foolish.
You free to date whoever will have you...but if nobody asks your racial preferences why would you tell them? Unless you are looking for confrontation or commotion.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 10:21:38 AM | | It's called preference and having a preference is not racist. Having attraction or not having attraction is definitely not racist and to say it is is bullchit. | |
|
| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 10:39:29 AM | I don't think that you are racist for not being attracted to asian women. I think we are all entitled to be attracted to, or not, whoever we choose, on whatever basis we choose.
That being said, I really don't understand why you mentioned it on your profile. Why not simply not contact asian women, and if any contact you, either don't reply or reply only briefly stating that you are not interested...you really wouldn't even need to state a reason.
Did you put that in there because you expected to be so flooded with emails from asian women that deleting them all was going to take up too much of your time? Although I see no racism in being romanitcally attracted, or not, to any particular race...I wonder if you feeling the need to state publically your lack of attraction to asians (both in your profile and this forum) may not be a sign of you being racist, just using this as a "politically acceptable" way of expressing it.
|
| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/17/2009 11:26:23 AM | Nah, it ain't racist, we all have our tastes or whatever. But there wasn't any need for you to put it on there - you could've easily just not reply if they contact you.
This comment riled me though;

Racism is a crime actually, idiot. Do-gooders? Minorities? You mean decent folk who have morales? Ahh yes, them. I'm sure if the majority wanted racism, the BNP would be in power by now.

hmm It seems that saying FEkk as opposed to FUKC has become synonymous with the pro tactless people.
Also, Why is it mediocre minds, who push faux racist agendas always want to bring up the forefathers?
How about this. You rant about what we inherited from our forefathers, but there was alot of BAD SHIT our forefathers accomplished for their own means as well.
You cant just except the good stuff and not the bad, but close minded mediocre minds can somehow live this way.
Lincoln didn't free the slaves because it was the right thing to do, he did so to win a war. And if he had of won without doing so, we would probably be segregated right now. Again, it is trendy to make comments like yours, but to be quite honest, people like you need to make up your minds.
One minute you're the majority, the next you are Irish English with a splash of native American.
I've said it a hundred times. You arent black and white in america. you either got straight hair or nappy hair. That is what you are judged on, because ITALIANS select white, on their race list. And people like you usually can tell the difference. I mean for god sakes, I dont find your wide nose, and stringy hair, lack of intelligence, and wide body type attractive, but does that make me superficial? Yes it does. But it is my preference remember?
I have the worst headache ever.
p.s.
But yeah, those damn "do-gooders" ought not to get their noses out of joint, otherwise, they might just have something to say about ethnic cleansing, mass deportation, marginalization, nationalism, democracy, intolerance, hate crimes, ethnopolitical purity, and genocide.
.....and a whole other host of jargon that someone silly enough to make "Do-gooders" and "Minorities" synonymous couldn't possibly understand.
Best post ever. You madame are both prolific and cataclysmic.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/30/2009 1:01:16 AM | Canadian men have culture .... just thought I would point that out. Why does everyone assume Canadians are culture barren? Rude as all get out!
Anyway - saying what you prefer is always better then saying what you arent interested in ... when a man says he likes athletic or slim women .. that is an indication that he doesnt do bbw - and if a woman says she is only interested in blk men - it indicates that she prefers a darker toned skin I hope - just like men who prefer blondes, or men who prefer men - if a man is gay and only dates men .. he isnt sexist he is just into what he is into.
Maybe remove the no asian thing - and if an asian lady happens to send you an email respectfully decline - that simple.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/30/2009 1:10:27 AM | Omg how did I miss the ebonics thing???
Where I come from ebonics is a comfortable form of communication between urbanites ... and is authentically used by people of all races, if they just so happen to be urban.
And there are many people of all races who are equally as good at many talents which include but are not limited to dancing, breaking. lockin. poppin, tickin, salsa, rappin, spittin, spinnin, and even frying some dang good chicken.
I am not saying that this has anything to do with where these skills originated - but there are many things in life which are created by one person and enhanced by another. Like basketball which was invented by a white canadian dude - most dont even know that.
The colour of ones skin is no indication of what they should or shouldnt be able to do, nor is it an indication of specific talents - just as it isnt an indication of how one should or shouldnt speak.
Saying that certain dialects/lingos, and certain styles of dance or dress or song are reserved to one race - is perpetuating the very stereotypes we all claim we wish to be rid of.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/30/2009 1:23:29 AM | | It isn't at all racist, although some will insist to you that it is. It's part of the process of natural selection and there's little you can do about it - even if you wanted to. | |

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 6/30/2009 5:59:06 AM | First of all, the proper wording is "I am not 'physically' attracted to Asians". You can't possibly know if you are "romanticly (sic)" attracted to anyone without at least having some contact with them. But the short answer is that either way you put it, it IS a racist statement. | |

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 7/1/2009 5:20:42 PM | OP are you kidding me? Apparently, you are attracted to Asian women or is it men?Does this reverse psychology work ? And if you are truely not attracted to Asian people, why say anything at all? I wasnt aware that there was a large Asian population on here seeking you out.And by chance if one of those ASIAN people email you..here is an idea just dont email them back.
For the record, IMO I dont think its racist.I think it just makes you look like a jerk.We all have our preferences.Although,I dont "prefer" bald men I never would say anything about them in my profile because I havent had as many bald men emailing me as you have apparently had Asian people emailing you.
|
| Is it racism when.... Posted: 7/1/2009 5:28:54 PM | OP...since you are not a geneticist (or if you are then... you aren't a very good one) then you have no idea whether or not somebody you are potentially going to date is Asian or not. There are a number of "White" people in Asia..in Siberia and Eastern Russia...in Israel...and all Arabs and most of the Central Asian peoples are considered to be "White..." Not interested in them...?
Since nobody asked your "racial preference" yet you felt "obligated" to mention it...then yes,I think that your comment makes you racist.
|
| Is it racism when.... Posted: 7/1/2009 6:16:07 PM | I don't understand why you felt you had to advertize it--- were you getting flocked with so many asian women you couldn't keep ? If so, I could see saying something, but unless you were an asian lady magnet...then what was the point?
It's important to be attracted to your partner--- but dang-- if an asian lady messaged you - you always have the option of not responding-that would make more sense the putting a banner on your page---

If you don't like dark skin or whatever, it's no more racist than not being attracted to girls with blue eyes.
Does not dating men make me sexist?
Sheesh. | |

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 7/1/2009 7:46:19 PM | I personally wouldn't care what race, color, or creed the woman is. I am more attracted to Latino women though something about them gets me going....if you know what I mean. I don't see what all the fuss over Asian women is, my best friend just doesn't understand why I don't find them super sexy like he does. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't date one or even marry one if love found me.
We've all got preferences its sad when someone pits you down for a preference that they have as well just to be politically correct though. That my friends is a double standard.

| Is it racism when.... Posted: 7/1/2009 8:03:31 PM | | Is it really necessary to put that on your profile? C'mon! lol! Oh yeah, way to let them down easy! How very chivalrous of you! Geesh!
