| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/14/2006 3:41:08 PM | I think it is my drool bucket and hugging jacket they like. I have been in the music business since my teen years. Like anything else, it is what you make of it. I had my wild years but have grown out of them. The women you refer to are not necessarly there for your drumming abilities but more for their own reasons. Having played numerous clubs and very large venues worldwide, I am still the daddy to my kids and am a person besides the drummer. Those kind of woman, generally speaking, are going to head off to the next good thing that comes along if it seems more attractive then the real you. Excitement I am guessing is what they are after. If you are a musician, you know that the life is not in the least bit glamorous when dealing with record companies and stage managers and agents that are only out for a piece of whatever you are making. There are real woman out there that will not be bowing down to what you do but will have no problem telling you where to get off if you pull the Rock Star attitude. Keep searching but don't settle for someone that is only attracted to your music. Someday the music is over and you will have to be able to get along with who you are, not what you are. Good Luck!!!! | |

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/18/2006 5:03:52 PM | my ex was with a drummer before me, I get along with all her ex's before me, but this guy was a douche, something about musicians baffles me, he acts like a tool, he is not attractive and his attitude stinks..
they were playing at a club one night and I showed up late, when not playing he was at the bar, talking tough to one of my friends (dont know why, nothing to do with me) I heard all the stories....he carries a big knife...why? I dont know maybe because he starts stuff he cant finish? Once my friend pointed him out and said "that guy" has been trying to fight me all night I laughed....now I dont like to be**** or start fights (I only fight for competition in a ring/cage) but I couldnt help myself, every time he would look over I would laugh and flip him the bird and motion for him to come over.....he never did
sure they can party but this loser lived with mom, didnt have a job, she cooks and cleans and he doesnt have a clue on how to treat a woman...she got rid of him thank god (not because it was for me lol) her other ex's are pretty cool, some are great people, but this guy was a loser.
I guess when they met....he was nice to talk with, deep and all that, then she realized what a loser he was and got rid of him.
maybe it was the "stonecold" look, bald goatee thing, only thin as a stick. Every woman likes the "bad boy" but when you "look" and "try" to act it you are only being fake, the guy was a kitten trying to play with pitbulls
dont see the thing with someone in a band.....my cousin is in a band, gets a boatload of women...if you saw him you wouldnt think "stud", but I have seen his women and wow. But he also knows how to treat them, and has all the other qualities.

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/25/2006 8:30:05 PM | I think people give musicians in general high hotness points because...
They express universal truths that you can shake your ass to. Or cry to, or waltz to, or whatever... Everybody reacts to music.
It's a relatively unique and visible gift - I think cabinet makers have a hot gift, but you never see dude on-stage with his latest armoire...
It's an exclusivity thing. Most people are gonna want to be wanted by one of the four or five people on stage as opposed to one of the 250 in the crowd. (See Family Guy - Road to Europe episode).
Affilliations , man... Lots of people, though they'd be loathe to admit it, are really name-droppers and tailcoat-riders. I boned (so and so), therefore, I must be hot.
And this is just f*cked up... it's like an artist's dysfunction is "cool" , cause it may get airtime some day, or because they *sing* it, or *play* it - not like a lifeguard's dysfunction - his/hers is just sad.
Society says it's cool to be a musician - just look at the media - they're not exposing and stalking Jerry, the guy behind the counter at William's... they're after Chad Kroeger, and Kenny Chesney. Why? I read somewhere that it's because we admire and envy them... sad state of affairs, I suppose...
Even musicians are prey to it...
My first post. I'm famous! Look, look, look! I'm famous!

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/29/2006 1:26:54 PM | | Well no, but it's that image, that seems to attract woman I find. I have a few musician friends who don't seem to have a hard time attracting women, on the other hand, they do however seem to have a problem keeping them. Not too many women can handle having their man oogled by other women as far as I can tell. | |

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 3/22/2009 3:03:40 PM | | I don't really know anything about why other women would be attracted to musicians, not to say that they aren't attractive. But myself, I am a musician so I think meeting someone with the same interests would be nice. I figured that everyone would have some interest in music, even if it was only listening to it, but I have been really surprised at how few guys actually include it as an interest in their profiles. | |

ok i have been told by woman i know and woman on here that drummers and musicians in general are sex, attractive whatever what is it about us musicans that they do or might find attractive
Because, it's part of the fantasy World they live in.
Same, reason why men like strippers, it's all a fantasy. Women envision a popular man, that everyone likes, and has money, power, etc.... (band dudes if they ever make it), and us men just want to live like Hue Heffner.
See, simple, plain, not mystery.

Smash his hand with a beer bottle. When he can't play for a while, maybe he'll smarten up. LOL

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 4/20/2009 10:01:18 PM | | A lot of musicians have an ego problem, I know I do but it is mainly just being a music snob and I hate terrible pop music, I like good music by people who are musicians that know their craft, can play more then 3 chords on a guitar and know how to write songs that are good. Been playing since I was 13, love it and being able to be creative is a way I express myself. Currently I am working on writing my own material and doing a jazz album by myself, just with drums, bass and myself playing horns, as I play both guitar and a variety of woodwind instruments too. Music influences me and when I find something that is truly unique, I use it to craft my own work in an attempt to create songs and there are songwriters out there that people have never heard of who write songs that rival some of the greatest writers of all time. | |

I prefer a woman who knows a bit about music as well rather than some chick who knows nothing about music except what she sees on Muchmusic. Music is a big part of my life and work so it does help to meet women. But at the same time, you meet a lot of flakes.

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/3/2009 2:28:35 PM | i'm a musician.
from my own experience i think it's just the creative aspect and actually showing the girl how you start from scratch and go on to the finished product.
i guess they see the heart and passion that drives to make a composition. they admire your dedication and slowly fall in love with you lol

| Why Do Women Like Drummers or Musicians in General Posted: 5/3/2009 5:05:07 PM | This is my first time posting and I couldn't resist the subject for a couple of reasons...the first being, I have a definite "thing" for drummers, but I think I am somewhat unique. I was raised by musicians and had my first crush on the drummer in my parents band who ended up being only one of many - my first love was also a drummer. For me it's the way they move and that they are the back-bone to the music, you watch a drummer move and it's hard to keep from being inspired to move, dance whatever. Also depending on the skill or temperment of the drummer, just the style can give you insight into their intellect, the choice when to "fill" or not...the spaces too, how they use the instrument. Others have also mentioned that if you are also big into music or are a musician as well then you kind of speak the same language. I have also been one who always wanted to play the drums - still might learn if I can find the time someday.
What it definitely isnt for me... -nothing about fame or money or attention -not about the parties
I also find it kind of sad when people reduce women's motivations to the lowest common denominator :( We're all people with unique likes and dislikes - wasn't into jocks cause we didn't speak the same language - aren't we all just looking for compatibility? compatibility is not something you can order off of a menu or from a "catalogue" ;)

Hmmm...maybe you musicians could suggest women start liking visual artists. You know, maybe a chalk artist or something, a chalk artist with a dog. just saying.
Funny, artists tend to be far more poor then musicians are. At least if you play gigs frequently you can make money, as opposed to praying that someone will buy a bunch of scribble that looks like finger painting that is supposed to be considered "modern art" when in fact it's just nonsense.
