Where on earth did that come from (don't get out much).. What has that got to do with you tasting yourself? I just thought it was so funny.. I mean, surely a shower and some perfume would suffice. I won't go down on a woman that hasn't showered. I consider it unhygienic and I wouldn't expect her to go down on me if I had not showered. Now I love giving the valley a good tongue lashing but, there is nothing worse than a smell that is just plain and simply wrong.. Like others have noted, its quite often diet, hygiene, self-respect of her/his own body, medical problem etc. But with that said, some guys like that smell. Personally I do not like it and wouldn't go there. I've had a girlfriend that had that really pungent fish smell and I tell ya now, its really not nice and certainly puts an end to the moment..However, we problem solved the smelly situation and worked out that it was the contraceptive that she was using (implant) and had it removed. After that, the smell was gone. The only time she would smell a little was around her monthlies, but, thats normal for most woman.
Douche.. I had no idea what that was so I did a quick google and found out..Why on earth would you want to stick something up there and give it a flush?.. If nature wanted that to happen you would have come with a hose attached..hahaa... Thats like an anal flush.. Geez..Some people have too much time on their hands I think..
Ahh well, each to their own I guess.. I must say though, no one I know or have known douches themselves or feels the need to..I live in Australia so it could be just one of those "oversees fads"...Enjoy your douching..

Doctors are not big fans of their patients that do this because it causes certain bacterias to grow and causes yeast infections. Best kinds to use are the medicated and mild vinegar douche and wait at least 1-2 days after menstruating. Even after a woman menstruates, she may continue to spot or taper off. I guess that is the fishy smell that men smell when a woman finishes her period.
Guess that means that you guys would have to take cold showers or let the ladies blow you for another couple of days if you can't control it. But to be honest, that is a bit extreme to be having a fishy smell that lasts more than a day if you don't douche. | |

Either you have a smelly puss'n'boots or you don't. There is a cause for it and it differs from patient to patient. My ex never smelt when she had her period and I don't know of any woman that douches..lol..Thats a prehistoric thing..I think it was back in the 50's or 60's or something..
I saw a program the other night that had a woman that had a problem with discharges and odour.. Turned out she cleaned herself that much that she was killing the 'good' bacteria and the bad..
Doctor recommended a bath without using soap.. Told her not to douche because it isn't needed..
Washing inside of you (which is unnecessary) will not remove odours caused from bacteria, diet, std's etc.. It may work for a very short period of time.. But it is best to find the problem and then find the solution.
Douching is just a gimmick.. Someone (probably a man) realised the embarrassment woman were having with odours and thought.. Hey!! I can make money here.. Selling woman a 'squirt n' go' bottle to clean away those smelly odours..

Great sense of humor. Now you did it, I'll never go back to being a redhead again. lol. Anyway, I am one of those people that still douche and I am like the young woman that you mentioned (the ex) that doesn't smell odor after a period. I just do it because I am paranoid about odor. I even wear clinical strength deodorant and don't have a problem there neither (I carry my deodorant with me). There are plenty of women who still douche and some do it after sex. I've often heard it said that a woman's 'ph' balance could be what triggers odor. Who knows why some women smell more than others or why people sweat more than others........

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that almost all the intelligent and helpful answers/advice came from men. You men have really evolved in this world. I was all prepared to give out some good answers but the guys beat me to it. I definitely like the fact that one guy even knows that douching is actually not a good practice at all. I'm a nurse and i've seen patients come into the office with real bad infections as a result of douching. I can't stress enough how unnecessary it is. Good hygiene practices are all thats needed . Also diet has a lot to do with how or what you smell like as one poster pointed out. I do hope that this lady took this problem seriously and saw her doctor. | |
