| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/7/2009 5:47:57 PM | Lesnar VS Mir
I can see Lesnar winning this one. Lesnar will go in alot slower against Mir this time and will be more systematic and pick off Mir. He will use his superior wrestling ability to take Mir down and control Mir and the fight from the floor. Lesnar wins by TKO in round 1 or 2.
GSP VS Alves
GSP should win this fight but Alves should give GSP a run for his money. Alves has great striking abilities but so does GSP. Also after seeing a video the other of Alves and GSP at a photo shoot GSP was looking a bit nervous when Alves was trying to get to him to fight. GSP wins by Split decision in a fight which could be fight of the year.
Bisping VS Henderson
If Bisping uses his superior striking skills to control the pace of the fight he should win this fight. Bisping could also go the other route and use his muay thai skills to keep Henderson at a distance to keep the fight standing up. Henderson could win though by taking the fight to the ground and using his wrestling skills to control the fight. Bisping wins by TKO in round 3 or by decision.

Because he f*cked up against Hughes...didn't he come in at 174? what a joke
Alves came in at 174 lbs for that fight because he sprained his ankle days before the fight which made it so he couldn't cut the last 4 lbs needed to make weight.

... Alves ... why doesn't the guy fight at Middle Weight? Or light heavy ... or hell, why doesn't he gain a couple pounds and try heavy weight. He's not that far off. Is he fixing to be a welterweight Brock Lesnar? I dunno, it's just hard to respect a guy who cuts two weight classes to be competative.
It's hard to lose 30+ pounds and NOT have your cardio severely affected (unless you're GSP/Rich Franklin, but they train like machines.)
I still can't believe Bisping's trainers are talking big about how he's going to outwrestle DAN HENDERSON. You heard it here first.
P.S: Sexyama comes to the UFC!

A sprained ankle yet he still managed to knock Hughes out.... I lose 4 lbs in a day if I miss a meal....sounds like a load of crap to me....
Wow...after watching the countdown show...Brock and Bisping need to be dealt with...
Sooo here it is....my rediculously bold predictions: Mir knocks out Lesnar GSP slaps a kimura on Alves and Hendo lands that big right hand...knocking that loudmouth down to 170.....
at least ONE of those will happen...mark my words....

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 9:37:38 AM | | Well...Brock Lesner is an ass and I seriously hope Mir kicks the shit out of him but Lesner is a monster. Mir might be in trouble. GSP will definately win. He wants to be a legacy and be the best. I honestly think he already is a legacy. Bisping....lol your going down. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 12:05:41 PM | Watched the countdown show tonight and Mir is a real condescending jerk off.
Mir just tells it like it is....he's got integrity...and after all the lil jokes towards Lesnar he still respects Brocks power and size....Lesnar on the other hand "never had an ounce of respect for any of his opponents" that shows HUGE character flaws....
Mir's gonna break a limb or knock him out....skill will beat size....Randy was doing good against brock until he got clipped in the back of the head with a rediculously sloppy right hand.....
All Mir's gotta do is avoid those huge fists and he dominates in devastating fashion....

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 1:50:48 PM | I wasn't a big fan of Lesnar at first because he was in the WWE and I hate that crap. Watching that show though, now I think he's pretty cool. He takes MMA very seriously, and in interviews, he seems very smart. Elevating Brock so quickly was a business move, and a very good one by Dana, but he DID beat Randy Couture. Personally, I think Randy was a good matchup for Brock, better than fighting Kongo or Gonzaga, but no matter how you cut it, he beat a legend who is still going strong. So I have nothing against Brock either, even if I don't truly believe he's a top 5 or 7 heavyweight in the world. He may not even be top 5 in the UFC. For me, he's still unproven, but I'm hardly going to blame HIM for that.
People are expecting Alves to be close to 200 pounds by the bell. It's going to be interesting. GSP has probably never fought an opponent with such a big weight advantage. On paper, Alves is a dangerous matchup.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 5:02:45 PM | I hope Mir gets stomped by lesnar. He barely won the first time.
I think gsp will dominate alves, but u never know anyone can get lucky.
bisping bleh. i hope he gets knocked out first punch.

Cause that's what he did in the first fight right?
Mir got knocked down, taken down, and had his guard passed twice.
And he only won because Brock made a bad move due to inexperience from being in his 2nd fight.
I think Brock takes this one in the first via TKO.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 8:18:01 PM | Frank mir by rear naked choke
GSP wins by knockout in the 2nd round
henderson ****s bisping up for acting like a ****ing****on the ultimate fighter and not shuting his ****ing face when the time was right, winner by decision, hendo
Ill bet you a dancing green banana on that!

I hope Mir gets stomped by lesnar. He barely won the first time. I think everybody was stunned by how freakishly quick Brock was in that first fight. Come on, he had a record of 1-0 when he fought Mir, nobody really knew anything about him, only that Mir was going to win by some kind of leg submission. Everybody knows a lot more about Brock now, he's not going to just come out bull rushing people and hammer fisting them. People caught onto Vitor Belfort, too, another fighter who stunned his first few opponents with sheer freakish athleticism.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 11:06:24 PM | im juss wonderin im new in calgary so if by anychance someone could tell me where i could go to catch ufc 200 and drink some beer that would be great, im from qc and im a huge gsp fan! some one plz?? | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/8/2009 11:17:02 PM | Lesnar vs. Mir Mir has a better all-around skillset but his Achille's heel has always been his conditioning, or should I say lack of. He's run out of gas in a lot of his fights whereas Lesnar will be in shape. I still have to go with Mir but the longer the fight goes the better Brock's chances are.
GSP vs. Alves Have to go with GSP at this point.
Henderson vs. Bisping I think Henderson may be past his prime but he may still have enough to beat Bisping. It's a toss-up. Wait. I just flipped the coin. I'll be damned. Looks like Bisping won the coin toss.........

I think Brock's biggest problem in that fight was that he came out waaaay to strong.
He never slowed down and didn't really think about what he was gonna do.
I see him pacing himself in this fight. Which will not work in Mir's favor.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/9/2009 9:23:13 AM | brock will be dominating the heavyweight division for a long time.
Nobody can match his size and speed. Sure, he does have a loss under his belt but that was a rookie mistake and he will continue to get better.
Better sign Fedor or it will be ZZZZzzZzz for a long time.

He never slowed down and didn't really think about what he was gonna do. I thought that was a bad call, stopping the action for blows to the back of the head. Maybe even the ref was momentarily stunned by the sheer violence Brock was producing and lost his mind for a second.
He went the distance with Heath, and lost a round to a much older, much smaller Randy Couture. Can't say with any certainty just how good Brock is. Mir will go a long way towards answering that question. Man, if they can't get Fedor, at least bring Barnett to the UFC. Or Ovareem. People are all over Ovareem's jock right now, bringing him over to fight Brock could be great for the UFC if Brock were to somehow win. I think Ovareem and Fedor are the only two I can see getting Brock in an arm submission.

brock will be dominating the heavyweight division for a long time.
And herein lies the problem - for all intents the heavyweight division is Brock and Mir, much like with boxings heavyweight division they need to find some guys to really step up and draw additional attention to the UFC or I think it'll just be the two of them for a very long time and it'll obviously get stagnant quick.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/9/2009 12:40:39 PM | | There are many places to watch the UFC 100 in Calgary. Pretty much any pub would be playing it you may need to pay a cover charge to get in to watch it. It will definately be worth it. | |

Brock was hitting the back. But Mir was turning into it.

Brock won the first round.
I think Werdum and Nog could sub him.
for all intents the heavyweight division is Brock and Mir,
What? No they aren't. Espically not Mir.
Or are you just talking about the UFC HW's?
Mir is very beatable. I think Couture, Carwin, Gonazaga, Brock, And Nog if he is healthy and not totally shot can beat Mir.
And that isn't even counting guys outside of the UFC.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/9/2009 3:50:05 PM | I'll have to watch it again. I remember thinking Couture won the first round.
Okay, my bad. He lost.
Brock was hitting the back. But Mir was turning into it. I've seen much worse many times not get stopped like that.

Just talking about UFC, yes I know it's not the only MMA organization out there but (stating the obvious, but still) lets face it - it's the most relevant.
