| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/10/2009 7:13:45 PM | | ok Micheal bisping will have a tough fight on his hands but i think he has proved hiself worthy enough to step in that octagon against henderson. Henderson is a really good fighter and this will be a good challenge for bisping , so i say it will be a tight match but i think bisping might take it . GSP is gonna out class alves because the way he fought BJ penn was phenominal and i cant seee him slowing down with the amount of talent and agility he has. for the main event alot of people think since brock came out too fast in the first fight and since he has took his time in his last two fights that they think he will beat frank mir. well frank mir will also be training for this fight and he knows exactly wot brock will be wanting to do this time ,it will be the same game plan frank had but just a longer fight, he will pick a bone and break it, i aint sayin brock is a bad fighter , he is amazin but frank mir is a evil man when it comes to fighting on the ground and he also has a good chin , anyway people enjoy it , its gonna be awesome | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/10/2009 11:17:29 PM | Lesnar roughs up Mir in the first. Mir submits Lesnar midway through the second round for the belt.
GSP Wins... Nuff Said
I think Bisping is definitely in Henderson's head... Henderson trys for a takedown and gets KO'ed.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 8:21:40 AM | I'm pumped! Can't wait for this to get going. Frank Mir FTW, then bring on FEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRR!!! | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 10:33:43 AM | | i think the heavyweight division should be unlimited as to what the fighters can weigh. the lesner mir fight tonight aint goin past the second round if it makes it that far. my guess is that mir pisses brock off and gets him to do something stupid, and mir will take advantage, thats just my guess. but i do wish for a good fight and i do wish the could be as heavy as they want to be at fight time, their shouldnt be a weight limit imho. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 10:40:32 AM |
their shouldnt be a weight limit imho.
The heavyweight range is 206-265....all the other weight classes are in 15-20 lb intervals....there's something wrong there....and everyone knows...like it or not...the only reason Brock is the champ right now is because he's a 290 lb MONSTER by fight time....level the playing field and he would get DESTROYED every single time because his skill set isn't up to snuff just yet....

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 10:50:20 AM | | i agree 100 percent. randy couture proved that brock is human too, watch their fight and everyone can see that randy had brock gassed, and when he hit brock and cut him brock got scared, watch the look on his face. but yeah i agree there is something very wrong with the weight in the heavyweight division. | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 11:49:06 AM | Pretty interesting story that I found on prowrestling.com:
An interesting blog from Canadian reporter Neil Springer at Canoe.ca recounts an incident at the UFC 100 press conference where Brock Lesnar's desire for privacy clashed with Dana White's desire for press leading into tonight's big pay-per-view. The report reads:
"Brock Lesnar's annoyance with the media spotlight continued at today's UFC 100 press conference.
While saying his bit at the beginning, he informed everyone he'd be leaving once he was done speaking and wouldn't take any questions from the press. As Lesnar attempted to split, UFC president Dana White pulled him aside and spoke directly into his ear. Only they know what was said, but Lesnar immediately sat his ass back down and answered all the media's questions."
This isn't the first time Brock has tried to escape the media. During the filming of the UFC 100 Countdown show (which airs on Spike TV again this afternoon or on UFC.com at this link) Brock storms out of an interview and punches a hallway wall so hard that the next door over falls off it's hinges. Brock has stated in numerous interviews that he doesn't own a computer and rarely watches TV, while a recent article in his hometown newspaper claimed that he turned down multiple Hollywood offers and most people in his hometown leave him alone when out in public.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 2:41:58 PM | | i would love to see a superheavyweight division in the ufc, i think that would really bring in some hard hitters. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 2:56:57 PM | | I think we all want to see Mir win. Its depressing to think that size is all. We would like to think that skill can beat size no? Like when Royce Gracie submitted Butterbean. Lawls. | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/11/2009 10:04:44 PM | My thoughts;
a. the first fight..i agree, the Japanese was the better fighter. Had it been for real, on the street, he would have killed Belcher. Belcher is a bum.
b. GSP..complete domination over Alves. Told ya so, told ya so.
c. Lesnar. Who the FK cares? Guys, i want you to think about one thing. Lesnar, without his size, would be nothing. Unimpressed. So what, hes big. Who cares. Next.
d. Bisping. Circled right. Out classed. Hes so far from Hendos ability, its obvious. I was wrong. Henderson dominated him from the get go.
e. Fight of the Night: The last one, Fitch vs Thiago. Technical, interesting, skillful, everything that Lesnar isnt.
Did anyone hear how Matt Dansig did? I heard he was scheduled to fight and that his UFC contract was on the line.
Your thoughts on tonites fights?

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 12:16:36 AM | Good UFC for sure. Akiyama/Belcher was a great fight, would've liked to see it go five rounds, these guys put on a show. Henderson chased Bisping around the ring all night with that right hand, then caught him, and that extra flying full power shut up punch was wicked(could've killed him). Bisping probably won't talk smack no more, to anyone. Lesnar dominated Mir and that cheak bone might need surgery. Incredible strength. Funny he wasn't able to treat Couture that way, had to earn that victory. GSP looked great except when he was on his back, hmmmmmmmm, still he dominated and looked to be in great shape. I hope his growing isn't injured too badly.
And Lesnar at the end of the match slobbering all over the place says to the crowd "I'm gonna go home and drink a Coors Lite because Bud Lite won't pay me any money and then maybe I'll lay on my wife." She looked pretty happy about it.
Glad I didn't miss this UFC.
HIT HIM IN THE FACE. | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 4:39:16 AM | DAMN!!!! Well, gotta give it up for Lesnar. DOMINANT performance, no question. I had a little bit of hope in the second round, as Mir unloaded some beautiful striking, including a flying knee(!), but to no avail. Brock's power is simply incredible. He was arm-punching and snapping Mir's head back like he was getting hit with overhand rights. I suppose this sets up a rubber match between them, but I don't think there is any point. Bring on Fedor.
At least I called GSP and Henderson right! Boy, did Hendo shut Bisping up. Good Lord!
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 8:39:52 AM | | Lesnar finally avenged his previous loss to Mir, and he did apologize for that comment in a post-show conference about Bud Light as they are one of the sponsors. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 12:00:54 PM | So I went 3 for 3 last night.
Brock is without question the man and you can put this one on the record - With the exception of not touching gloves I had no problem whatsoever with Brocks actions and reactions. All Mir did for months was talk S, the standout being the "This aint fake Brock, this is real!" remark, yeah it is real Frank and the beatdown you got last night was very real and that's why you had nothing to say afterwards. A guy talks smack about me for months the way Mir talked about Brock and he finally gets his, I wouldn't be chivalrous about it, I'd shove it in his face. Had Lennox Lewis done the same to Mike Tyson years back after all the smack talk and garbage antics I would of had no problem with it either. In any case the majority of the crowd at Wild Wings was behind Brock last night even after all the antics
And much like with Brock it's gonna be a cold day in hell when I pick against GSP and when he loses it'll come as a surprise to me. because in my book he's the best all around performer in the game today, and remember this is all coming from a guy who's said that he doesn't like George.
Hendersons KO of Bispig was the epic win of the night, the crowd just ate it up and Bispig looked stupid. Belcher/Akiyama was a good surprise, I had no problem with Aki winning as I thought it was a close match, I just had a problem with the one judge who awarded it to him 30-27 outright, sorry but there's no way either one of them won that match outright like that.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 12:36:31 PM |
I hate to say it and I'll probably get flamed for it but I think Lesnar would likely crush Fedor as well.
How?
I could see a cut stoppage since his skin cuts easy. But crush him?
PLEASE!
Fedor is not Frank Mir.
Mir isn't even half the figther Fedor is.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 12:39:42 PM | bisping for as good a striker he is supposed to be looked terrible; he didn't sit down on his strikes, even when he landed he really had nothing on his shots. An what is worse he kept circling into hendo's power and worse off would'nt use angles or angle his body; dan shuffled forward at an angle cutting the cage off and forcing michael to just circle one way by doing so. Hendo didn't look great; but he looked in shape, controlled and deliberate; he didn't do anything that i thought he couldn't do, i just fig bisping would be smart enough to not give him that opp..at least not that easily.
thiago alves needs to learn how to off grapple/wrestle OFFENSIVELY, he can def, he can sprawl; but that is all, gsp had nothing to worry about cus thiago had nothing to offer offensively except his standup. Which got shut down cus he was such a liabilty on the ground, it let gsp just take him down, trip him left and right. He is big strong young and full of talent but needs to be multi dimensional kickboxing won't cut it against the best in the div.
lesnar is a good wrestler, great; but its his size and athleticism, that gets him over on almost everyone. I thought mir might get a sub in transition; but brock was measured and smart, mir didn't have the power and was never gonna have the wrestling. If brock fights smart and controlled he will smother and pound out almost everyone; carwin/ vaelasquez have the athleticism and wrestling to make brock work more, but i think lesnar has alot of power size and athleticism. If those guys can't eff neutralize, counter his wrestling; then its gonna be a long reign in the div, cus none of these other cats are good enough wrestlers and the ones w/even very good wrestling aren't good enough on the ground to be a threat (n0g/mir are really the best off/def grapplers in the div and almost in the world of mma). An if they can't do anything then noone except maybe fedor (barnett) winning, prob only fedor.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 2:37:46 PM | Just thought that maybe some people might be interested in what other Professional Wrestling personalities are saying about Brock Lesnar's fight and his post-fight interview.
The following is from Examiner.com:
Pro Wrestlers and Bobby Lashley comment on Brock Lesnar's victory
The Pro-Wrestling world is celebrating Brock Lesnar's 2nd round Knock Out of Frank Mir. Here's what some of them had to say including Bobby Lashley.
"Mir, what do you think of Pro Wrestlers now after getting your ass handed to you and getting beat in a completely one-sided fight!" .... Hurricane Helms
"Brock is a strong heel. Take it from yours truly... Minnesotans are tough. Might try some MMA. I could destroy that nerdy Bruce Buffer." .... Jeremy Borash (Jeremy Borash is a ring announcer for Total Non-Stop Action)
"WWE star Brock Lesnar won by brutual ground and pound!" .... Bobby Lashley
"Yeah Brock! Reppin' the toughness of "WWE" guys by making Mir & the non-believers eat their words! We popped HUGE 4 your post fight promo!" .... Matt Hardy[/quote

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 4:00:52 PM | "Pro" wrestling is the biggest joke. Their belts arent real. And the fact that Brock noted his 3 wwe championships as legit in a recent interview made me LMFAO.
If he wants to get away from his "tough past" in the wwe then stop acting like a little b*tch.
He will go down in history as being one of the most classless champions of any sport. He could learn a thing or two from guys like GSP, A.Silva, and Machida who are all current champs and class acts.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/12/2009 4:42:32 PM | It's more of entertainment, than an actual sport. Why Brock mentioned it, I'll never know.
Tito Ortiz wasn't exactly Mr. Class either and he has had a very good career in UFC. Lesnar was just being the bad guy and he seemed to revel in it, he apologized for the Bud Light reference so I don't see the big deal.
What happened that had the ring so bloody? I didn't see most of the PPV.
